Big Toe Mobility🕺
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🚶‍♂️Your 1st metatarsal-phalangeal (MTP) joint is like the gateway to the rest of your body.  Surprisingly it’s restricted in more people than you may think.  If you’re not able to get that complete closed chain dorsiflexion during the toe off phase of gait, our extremely resilient body will look for ways around it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏃‍♂️Example include overpronation, ankle mobility issues, toe out posture, posterior tibialis tendinitis, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and lack of hip extension.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏋️‍♀️The big toe is essential for proper balance, walking, running, and many other athletic activities. Optimal power during propulsion is reliant upon proper foot mobility and muscle activation patterns.
