  • Did you know that coffee is the worlds 2nd largest traded commodity?

That means that coffee growers, traders, roasters, cafes, baristas and coffee drinkers all have an exponential opportunity to have a positive impact in the world.

If you drink coffee, know someone who works in or even owns a cafe, and you think they’d like the chance to support their staff and business while supporting their community, put them in touch with us at the Just Be Nice Project. We have some epic partnership programs in the hospitality industry and we are pumped to be changing the ways the industry engages and executes positive social impact.

Tag your favorite cafe in here to join the movement to ensure communities and individuals are given relevant, long term, comprehensive support when they find themselves needing help.

Plus, we love coffee ☕️

  • A Single-Symptom approach to 'doing good' is all too common and in many instances causes more harm than good.

Waiting for a problem to be glaringly obvious before intervention becomes an option is inefficient and leaves a lot of potential impact on the table.

Unfortunately, with an increasing number of organisations promoting single-mode-intervention to solve complex problems, we are damaging not only our capacity to actually have the best impact we can have, but we are damaging the general populations capacity to understand disadvantage and quality outcomes.

If we don't do a good job of teaching people what disadvantage actually looks like, in all it's complexity and nuance, then we do a gigantic disservice to our capacity to build problem-prevention into impact models.

Doing good is not only problem solving, ultimately it is problem preventing.

To learn more about how you or your organisation can be part of the movement to problem prevention and improving standards of outcomes for those in need. Get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

  • In the aftermath of one of the most horrific acts of violence seen on this side of the globe, we have to double down on our capacity to understand and support all communities.

Fear, whether from sources real or imagined, is a powerful devisive force in communities. We need to take the time to understand the source of fear in our communities and work to allay these anxieties and support people through their concerns so that we can all eventually support one another fully.

A rising tide lifts all boats, we need to ensure everyone is benefiting from the wonderful resources and opportunities we have in this country and prevent those who would take out their frustrations on the most vulnerable from doing so.

Eggs, unfortunately, are not the answer. In this moment, more than ever, we need more understanding. We need to be considered, grown up, rational and supportive. Division is never going to lead to cohesion, the harder people try to pull everyone apart, the tighter we must hold onto one another and ensure no one gets left behind.

  • It is tempting to look beyond those around you to try and 'do some good. Truth is, building community starts with building up those around you.

Look to the people to your left and right. If those people need help, start there. Doing good isn't just about hero moves, it's about consistently showing up and leading by example for everyone you interact with. Every day.

Just Be Nice.

  • A feeling that many people have experienced. One where we are mostly ok, mostly doing well... but sometimes we’re not.

It’s all totally human, 100% normal and something we pretty much all feel at some point in our lives.
Talking about positive mental health isn’t always talking about the very worst and the very best of how people feel, it is also just taking time to acknowledge that as people we can be ‘Mostly ok, but sometimes not’. Have a great start to your week, keep an eye out for those around you, spread the message and as always, Just Be Nice.

  • The Philippines know what’s up!

Just be nice, hooking up our friends in Manila with new uniforms for the @pinoyhoops programs running in tenements in impoverished areas of the city. This great work is co-ordinated and carried out by the legend @iammikeswift himself, and we were able to provide support through the great work of our partner organizations, @hellogoodsports and @odinsports
Building communities, building character and building them together, that’s what we are all about at the Just Be Nice Project.

If you, your business or your workplace would like to get involved in transformational change, get in touch, we can’t do anything without the support of people who want to change the world for the better!

  • What excites you about the future?

A great question from Ed as he stopped by to chat about the Just Be Nice Project and the work we are doing.

This little snippet is particularly relevant after I just sat down yesterday with a friend from a large consulting firm who was struggling with this exact concept of purpose and work. At the Just Be Nice Project we have built an eco-system that ensures the better you are at your vocation, the more good you can do.

You don't need to look for purpose, you need to pursue excellence and then contribute that excellence to a system that works to complete outcomes for people in need. That system is the JBNProject and we'd love to have you and your organisation on board.

  • The gift of tough times is not simply the opportunity to talk about what you went through. The gift of tough times is an opportunity to take your pain and struggles and use them to understand the tough times of others.

Rather than simply tell a story about what 'happened to me', Josh believes speaking practically and openly about issues and how they affect everyone is the key to moving the needle culturally.

We can go a long way by simply taking the time to understand each other. Learning the tools to understand the nature of struggles, the impact they can have, what questions to ask and how to identify difficulties and blocks to opportunity in others.

If you are looking to improve your character as individuals and culture as a collective, you need to be looking in the right spot, asking and answering the right questions and building understanding in a way that makes sense to you. It’s not always easy, it can be confronting, but it is always worth it.

Get in touch to begin the process now and kick off 2019 with open minds, open hearts and a commitment to excellence as humans. You deserve to be the best you can be and we believe the world needs you to be the best you can be too.

  • It's time for the shout-out!

We know lots of people like to post about the good work they're doing, the causes they care about, their good deeds for the day.

We are here to encourage looking around at those around you and shouting out those you see doing generous things. People who are looking out for those around them, people who are working to improve the lives of others, people opening doors for those who need a hand.

Pop on over to the JBNProject Shoutout page on our website and give us a chance to tell everyone about the people who are out there doing their best to Just Be Nice!
