  • Color can come through experience. On a flight back from New York, I moved my hand from the tray table to lower the window shade. In that moment, with sun pouring through the window, I saw my hand transform to a neon, almost fiery cadmium color. It was glowing as I slowly moved the shade. I saw I could manipulate and control that color.

  • Sunday I had the honor of attending the grand opening of a new community center in West Oakland with @urbanlifementors + @nycthrive. The center is conveniently located across the street from an Oakland Public school with the goal to create opportunity through the arts and nurturing leadership development for youth. It’s encouraging to witness @clorox step in to support this initiative with their What Comes Next Project- It’s one thing to help clean up a space, and it’s another to think about the bigger picture and support a thriving future of the community. #WhatComesNextProject #sponsored

  • Currently sprawled across my dirty concrete floors facing the fan. Despite the heat, my paintings are evolving and I even finished a few big ones today. I can’t wait to share what I’m working towards in just a few more days.

  • It’s simple gesture- to extend a line from the wall to the floor but I’m fascinated by how it transforms a space. The walls open up and exude a playful character. @youtube

  • Mixing colors that feel appropriate for this 💯°F day in San Francisco. It’s almost time to call it a day and hit the beach. ☀️

  • One mark leads to the next until there’s nothing else that needs to be done. - Thank you @small.works.sf for the beautifully crafted hand built frames.

  • Thinking back to January’s show @joshualinergallery. The work I created was a study of relationships found through consequential shifts in perspective. This week I’ve been thinking more about that shift and how my paintings represent a vessel for controlled chaos - splatters, rehearsed scribbles and washes of pigment. It’s an emotional language that doesn’t have a linear narrative.
