Dad of Lyric & Ruby. I used to wear tights. Now I get my toenails painted when I fall asleep. I play a Viking named Kjetill. Miss the SuperSonics.

Whoa! Found this gem from about 1996 of a 23 yr old me, courtesy of The Funkin Dojo with Dory Funk Jr and Tom Prichard. Here I’m wondering what ways Ahmed Johnson is about to hurt me. Also wondering if Steve Blackman is thinking of ways to dispose of the body. In all seriousness this is from a time when there was no NXT, no performance centers, no social media. Just a ring in a warehouse and trying to prove your worth. But at least I was making the princely sum of $210 a week at this point from my “developmental” contract. Hey, better than no contract right? And it worked out ok.
🎼It was 20 years ago today,
Vinnie Mac gave the chance to play,
We’d been tryin just to be the stars,
But we guaranteed to raise the bar,
So may I introduce to you,
The acts you’ve known all these years,
Edge & Christian, Hardy Boyz Club Baaaaaaannd🎼
Ok for some reason I needed to plagiarize and shoehorn wrestling lyrics to Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was brutal, I know, but the music geek in me had to(you only get 20 year anniversaries once). Twenty years ago at No Mercy, four fresh faced young fellas competed in a match that changed the trajectory of all of our careers. And some might say the entire business. The Yankees need the Red Sox and vice versa. The Maple Leafs need the Canadiens and vice versa. E&C needed the Hardy’s and vice versa. It was the perfect storm where everyone walked(or limped) away, stronger for it. We put our minds together, put our bodies on the line, with a blank canvas, and the rest is history. Thank you Boyz. Thank you Jay. We’ve come a long way. I’m gonna go butcher more Beatles lyrics now.
How do the Copeland’s celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving? By getting our pumpkin patch on! And yes, Ruby is wearing an Elsa tutu and a grinch hat. Everyday is Christmas to that kid. Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Canuckleheads.
Thanks everyone for getting me to 1m followers on The Gram yo! Here’s a little message, straight from the heart, completely transparent, so take everything I say with the utmost seriousness. Buuuut in all seriousness you can take this seriously; thank you, I’m glad you seemingly enjoy following my exploits in dadism and other ridiculosity.
Interesting that Ruby was drawn to this crate. 🤔 I kid, but do you remember the Koolaid guy who ran through walls?💥Yeah, that’s Ruby. Lyric just tries to help contain the bedlam in between drawing plans and blueprints for urban development. I’m not kidding on that one. 🧠 #RubyDynamite #LyricalGangsta
I am on the first episode of Excuse Me, the brand new podcast from my dear friend and onscreen wife @guerrero_vickie We chat about all of the hijinks we got into, from see-saws, cucumber facials and pedicures with strawberry fields toenail polish, off white tuxedos and all of the stupid bumps I dreamed up for her, including the one you see here with @619iamlucha It definitely explains the slap in pic 2. Download and listen wherever you get your pods, now!
We went to war together often and some of my best in ring memories were shared with Eddie. But more important to me were the ones outside of the ring. Whether it was watching Eddie and @chavoguerrerojr walk in the dressing room in Saskatoon in February with huge parkas on(it was minus 50 Celsius out) saying “yeah I got a good idea, let’s live in Saskatoon...said no one ever!”, or coming in the dressing room with Los Lonely Boys song Heaven blasting while Eddie danced, the great talks about life, or toasting Eddie(with water) with @619iamlucha on my retirement tour. So many good times. Today is Eddie’s birthday. Seems fitting he shares it with another legend, John Lennon. That song Eddie always sang asked “how far is heaven?”. Whatever or wherever heaven is, I know that Eddie knows.
