“What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever signed?” This one was probably up there for @mayadorito. Thank you @tyrsport and @usaswimming for putting on today’s clinic. Lots of fun to be at a Pro Swim Series again and watching some FAST swimming #TeamUSA #GoUSA #GoBlue
Dear Stranger, why are you torturing me with this?
It was AWESOME to be a party of the record breaking @covenant_house Young Professional Sleep Out last night. A huge Thank You to everyone to slept out, helped spread the word, supported me, and donated. Together we topped our goal and raised over $500,000! This money will make a real impact in real individual’s lives. The fundraising doesn’t actually end for another week, if you feel compelled to donate please visit the link in my bio. Thank you! #covenanthouse #nyc
I wanted to share that I am participating in the Covenant House Young Professional Sleep Out to support and raise awareness for the 4.2 million kids who will be homeless in America this year. Covenant House is a charity that helps young people facing homelessness get off the street. Covenant House is a movement that stretches thirty-one cities across six countries, reaching 80,000 young people every single year. To put this into perspective, 2,000 young people woke up in a Covenant House bed this morning.
By participating in the Young Professional Sleep Out, I have accepted Covenant House’s challenge to spend a night sleeping on the street, so homeless kids don’t have to. The Sleep Out is not about pretending to be homeless. It’s an act of solidarity with the 4.2 million young people who experience homelessness each year. It’s a decision that we can’t stay indoors while so many kids remain outside.
To support these young people and help them build a future off the streets, my goal is to raise $2,000 for the Sleep Out on March 22nd. I have already contributed the first $100. I'm blessed to have always had two parents looking after me and to have always had a roof over my head. By participating in this event, I can help have a positive impact on someone else's life who has not been as fortunate.
If you’re able, please help by contributing to my fundraising through the link shown in my bio. There is no minimum donation required and every dollar helps! ALSO, all of your contributions from this point forward will be matched by David Hegarty. Please consider sharing this message with any family or friends who you think may be interested in contributing to this great cause.
Please visit the link in my bio to make a donation.
Thank you for supporting me in my efforts to help make a difference for the millions of kids in America who are battling homelessness.
Big throwback to the summer of 2012 with @kledecky (this was the best photo I could find of us 😂). The first A team that either of us had made. Katie and I were in the same training group the month leading up to those Games and I knew that Katie had an incredible future ahead of her. Now, 5 Olympic Gold and 14 World Champ Gold later (did I count them right 🤔) I can humbly say “I was right”. I’m stoked that I was able to draft Katie first for the 2019 #SwimSquads. Competing together again, just in a slightly different fashion this time around. The most important thing for me about competing in the 2019 season is that I’ll be able to bring awareness to and compete for Covenant House. Covenant House helps homeless youth around the world get off of the street, have a safe place to sleep, pursue an education, and find a job. To learn more about Covenant House please visit the link in my bio. I’ll be participating in other Covenant House events this year including the Young Professional Sleep Out in NYC. More information to come
The last time I saw @greg_palt we were on a beach in Rio de Janeiro during the #rio2016🇧🇷 Olympics, and it was shortly after his decisive victory for the 🥇 over me in the 1500m. Of all of the great things that swimming has brought into my life over the years, I will always be most thankful for the friendships that I have made along the way. Greg, you’re a class act and it’s been great to watch your continued success over the past 2 years. A huge thank-you to you and [the much more stylish] Letizia @letiziaruoli for showing us around your home city of #Rome last week. I hope we can return the favor the next time you’re around #nyc
