  • Cheers to the end of the ski season! As far as the announcement to @the.fifty.project I alluded to earlier, an episode launches on Wednesday with three very important topics covered, first, some housekeeping on the state of the project and the episodes, second, the AMA from a couple weeks ago, and third one very important question from me to you guys and gals. All in all, cheers to everyone involved this season, from the sponsors who believed in me enough to support this idea of mine, to the countless people that have helped with beta, conditions reports, couches to surf and partners to ride with. Lastly, peace out for the next few weeks, phone is being turned off, computer unplugged and some time for hitting the reset button is in order. 🤙🏼🍻⚔️ .

  • As I begin the stages of wrapping up the skiing portion of the first year of @the.fifty.project, there are many many many people to thank, but none more important than the first person I told this crazy idea to many years ago, the person that has guided me thru the ups, downs, highs and lows and the person that has shown an unwavering level of support through this whole damn thing, my amazing wife @elysesaugstad. So just wanted to publicly acknowledge the fact that this project truly wouldn’t be possible without her. Thanks my love! 😘

  • Yeah, maybe a little too early to hang up the skis and bust out the @ibiscycles. One more classic to do anyways.

  • Since I’ve gotten a ton of messages and DM’s asking if @ian.walsh @bjarnesalen and I were okay, figured I’d just put it out there that, yes, we’re all good. Many probably saw the news today of a fatal rock slide on the Liberty Ridge route of Mt. Rainier yesterday. We were all actually on the other side of the mountain and there the day before the accident. A big bummer to hear about and hope the people in the hospital get a full recovery and condolences to the friends and family of the deceased. 📸: @bjarnesalen

  • Just wanted to throw a shout out to @hestragloves because they don’t get enough credit for making the best damn gloves on the planet. A small family business, over 80 years old, focusing on one thing and doing that one thing the best they can. It’s why I reached out to them a decade ago trying to get sponsored by them after I purchased a couple pairs and knew I could go back to using anything else. Thanks @hestragloves, you all rule! 📸: @ming.t.poon

  • That’s @pennnewhard and the line/mountain he, @steepskiing and @artfuladventureburrows deemed a “Classic”. Now what exactly makes a line a classic? I honestly don’t know and answering that question alongside which lines deserve to be in the book or should have been kicked to the scrap heap is a debate that fills message boards and bar talk alike. Maybe I’ll have a better answer in a couple years but in the meantime, the Landry Line seemed pretty damn classic to me. • Episode 13 - The Landry Line off Pyramid Peak is live! (link in bio). This season in Colorado when from historically dangerous avalanche conditions to suddenly stable and exceptionally filled in. Keeping tabs on the weather and rapidly improving avalanche conditions, @bjarnesalen and I bolted to Aspen and within a day of being in town were setting out for my first ever ski tour in Colorado to what many consider the test piece is ski mountaineering in the Rockies. Steep, exposed and damn fun, possibly my favorite skiing of the year happened on this line. Episode dedicated to @scramuelcoffey.

  • As we near wrapping up the first part of Season 1 of @the.fifty.project, I was planning on finally answering all your questions that are consistently peppered in comments throughout the season. But not here on social media, in an AMA style video that will be on the YouTube channel. So throw a question out here, and I’ll sift through the comments and pick out the best ones to answer in the AMA video that will come out in a couple weeks. @salomonfreeski @swatchandsports @yeti 📸: @bjarnesalen

  • So far @bjarnesalen and I have been joined by at least one other person on every line this season. Well except two out of the three traverses in the “50 Classics” book. Those are the only two where finding willing partners has been a bit tougher...I wonder why? @salomonfreeski @swatchandsports @yeti
