  • I’m in Tempe, Arizona for a few more weeks and the temperature is about to hit triple digits. It’s very crucial that I monitor my fluid intake with my Ember device. Tracking my PVI (Pleth Variability Index), allows me to know if I’m dehydrated and I’m able to gauge how much fluids to replenish. I track my PVI multiple times per day and my average is between 9-15, anything higher and I know I need to intake more fluids. I have to be extra careful when exercising in the heat to prevent severe dehydration as that would disrupt my metabolic processes. My training is starting to pick up and I can’t afford any interruptions. @cercacor @bmartrun

Today’s speed session was pure torture! 😫 Gaining back my fitness one day at a time. 
My Ember device indicated today’s secondary workout was beneficial. Two parameters that stood out were my Hemoglobin 16.1 & Oxygen Content 21.3. I haven’t seen these parameters in that range in a long time. I’m thankful to be running again. 🙏🏽 What are everyones plans for the long weekend?? The notion that running a non-impact sport is something that should redefined. Runners are constantly impacting surfaces that are flat, undulating, soft and hard. In a perfect world every step would feel like the first day back after an extended break. No aches, no twinges, no lingering soreness from yesterday's workout, and who can forget a little extra bounce. However, that is not the narrative, at least not in my experience.

The main thing about being injured is staying patient, having a positive attitude the entire time and dedicating yourself to physical therapy. Having an #EmberDevice has put my mind at ease because I’m able to track key parameters multiple times per day that show me I’m not loosing too much of my fitness. Yesterday I ran 10 miles at an easy pace and my Ember Device showed me the run didn’t tire me out. During this setback I don’t have to keep guessing if I’m going backwards in my fitness. Thank you for being by my side during this process. ❤️ @cercacor
