  • So who endured the rain and got one of my bobbleheads tonight at the Stadium? I know there was only enough for 18,000 of you. Thanks to the @yankees for making the bobble celebrating the 20th anniversary of the walk off HR in ALCS in ‘99 and to @att for sponsoring. Always love being back at the Stadium. #mlb #yankees #bobblehead #yankeesbeisbol

  • I cannot express how special last night’s concert was for me. From the great interview with Suzyn Waldman, one of my oldest and dearest friends in baseball: you told stories about me even I didn’t know ! That was so much fun.
To see my Yankee family out there in full force meant more to me than you’ll ever know. Thanks to David Cone, David Wells, Tino Martinez and his family, Willie Randolph and Reggie Jackson for supporting me on the field all those years, and now on the stage.
To my band of @danorlandomusic, @zachstehura,@doctorgregmd and @jaypuente. You guys worked so hard to prepare for this concert and it showed. I was honored to be on the same stage as you.
Special guest @realjblue - you brought down the house with your original song “Rather Be Lost” and the amazing @mindiabair - you showed why you are a legend. Literally walked off a plane and onto the stage with no rehearsal or sound check and killed it on “Go For It”. Thank you for gracing all of us - it was very special.
To Bobby Rossi, Mike Shine and everyone at @RuthEckerdHall - thank you for taking such great care of us. I hope you will have us back soon.
And to all who bought tickets and attended, for supporting the @pfforg and my Breathless campaign for IPF - I cant do this without you ! What a crowd. I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
Time to put on the Yankee pinstripes back on and go back to instructing at camp. God Bless You All ! #willierandolph #davidcone #BreathlessIPF #PFF #yankees #mlb

  • So who is in the Tampa/St.Pete/ Clearwater area tonight? Down visiting Spring Training? I love being back down here as a Yankees instructor, but tonight, it’s all about the music - no Yankee game today - and excited for my concert tonight at the Murray Theatre at @rutheckerdhall in Clearwater, FL Evening will start with a sit down Q & A with Suzyn Waldman, who knows me as good as anyone. We will talk about my life in baseball, music, and my work on the Breathless campaign for Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)- the killer lung disease that took my dad’s life. www.breathlessipf.com. Then my band and I and a few special guests will take the stage and we have a great set planned!
Special meet and greet ticket is available for the best seats, and everyone will get a yankees duffel bag, autographed 8x10 metallic photo, concert T-shirt and a Topps trading card of me with a guitar, not a bat - the first card ever made of me as a musician!
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) - so please help us make a difference!
See the link for info and tickets - but was told only a few tickets remain so hurry. I can’t wait to see you all tonight. So grateful to all you for your support all these years in all my endeavors.

  • What an honor to have played with Mariano Rivera and I congratulate my friend on his election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
When it comes to Mariano, I had the best seat in the house from center field watching him pitch.
It was mind boggling to see him literally just mow down hitters. Mariano would cause more broken bats in one inning than most starters had in an entire game. If we had a lead in the ninth inning – the game was over. He achieved a level of consistency for such a long time, and that is very hard to do. You just don’t really see that in a reliever. That’s what made him so remarkable. Everyone in the stadium knew he was going to throw that cutter – and they still couldn’t hit it.

A lot of people don’t know this, but in the clubhouse, Mariano was a prankster – he was very funny and would play jokes on guys and keep things loose.

He was also one of those old school players that took it upon himself to take care of young players. He would take rookies to dinner, talk to them about life as a major leaguer, and how to carry yourself. He was always very embracing of the young blood on the team. Great teammate.

He was a family man who was very devoted to his wife and kids. Perhaps the one thing I admired most about him is that on his long road to becoming the greatest reliever of all time, he included his family, and took this journey with them close by him the entire time. That’s just the kind of man he is. Congrats also goes to Clara and Mariano III, Jafet, and Jaziel.
There was, and always will be just one Mariano - special player, special teammate, special man - and I’m 100% sure of that.
