Social media is a bit of a catch 22 when it comes to protecting the areas we love.
Every time we post a photo or video it increases the chances of others wanting to visit that spot. And ultimately that is a good thing, we want people to be active and get outside! However it’s paramount that we and everyone who visits these beautiful places does so with respect. • Pack it in pack it out
• Respect historic artifacts • Know the local laws/customs • Pick up trash when we see it
Admittedly none of us are perfect and I know I could always do a better job of being an ambassador of the areas we live in. And that’s exactly the point, let’s all try a little harder to be kind to the places we love.

There are just some evenings that turn out to be my favorites.
Even though we literally had to run up huge sand hills only to discover that we were to late for the light in that location. Then we ran out to another spot and made it just in time for the last of the sunset, dumping about a pound of sand out of our shoes and hurrying to set up. Laughing about being out of breath.
Then, everything fell into place, the light, the subject, even the breeze.
Then we made the photo.
Thank you @rocknraquel for dashing around the desert with me. This evening was pure gold.
I don’t know where I’d be without such a loving supportive partner.
You lift me up when I’m down and remind me to believe in myself when I’ve forgotten how.
You’re the cheese to my macaroni @sketchyandylewis
Who do you have in your life that supports and encourages you?

Here’s a fun video of our recent mission out in the desert. @sylvanslacks played around with the editing and created some beautiful mirrored images.
I know Mondays are usually a drag and not something we look forward to but, maybe this Monday we can start a habit or invest in something good for ourselves that makes it less dreary.
Maybe we take ourselves to yoga, or make a delicious smoothie, or give a compliment to someone.
And maybe, just maybe, we can turn the first day of the week into a snowball effect of productivity and positivity.
Whatever you do this Monday I hope you seize the day and make it your best! 🙌🏽☺️

There are some evenings out here where everything the light touches is gold.
It’s doesn’t mean that getting out onto the line isn’t just as terrifying.
It’s still nerve wracking for me. Sitting there, breathing as deeply and slowly as I can manage. Reminding myself that what I’m about to do is actually safe.
I slowly ease my way out, feeling better as the harness holds my weight as I hang underneath the highline, and as things don’t spontaneously explode like I sometimes can’t help but imagine in my head.
Each breath comes a little easier and I can finally relax into the silks and find a pose.
It’s taken me years to be able to handle exposure like this. A deep rooted fear of heights has often held me back from this sort of thing. So evenings like this are truly magical for me, each one a tiny victory.
Thanks for getting some rad shots @firstdescent and for rigging up another beautiful line @sketchyandylewis
It’s been a crazy week, but good crazy. Rigging with @sylvanslacks & @sketchyandylewis for BBC.
Early mornings and beautiful evenings. The hard work is always worth it in the end though and I’m grateful for the extra motivation to see the sun rise and set. Photo by @firstdescent
I learned about the term “micro bravery” today. It’s how we slowly take steps to work through our fears by exposing ourselves in micro increments to the things we are afraid of.
Becoming braver with every tiny victory, but also knowing our limits and not being hard on ourselves when we chose to try another day.
Watching @mersendyclimberson work through very real fears and create art is always beautiful to watch. Great rig job @sylvanslacks
Sometime you have to go chase some storms to find your rainbow.
Luckily this little lady will follow me anywhere.
