  • It’s time I share more about these guys, because they have changed the game for me and the kids. Yep even the kiddies can just pop them into their mouths and chew them up. 🍊 .
Vegan omega’s. Which means we’ve also skipped the heavy metals and toxins that build up in fish tissue! 🌱 .
So why are omegas so beneficial in our diet? 🤷‍♀️
.
Essential fatty acids are essential to our health and must be obtained in our diets. Every single cell in our body needs fatty acids for a healthy cell structure and our brain is 60% fat, so good fats in our diet determines how our brain and body is going to function. If you’re not getting healthy fats into your diet then your cells and health can become weakened. .
Omegas have some incredible benefits like assisting fighting depression and anxiety, fights inflammation, improves joint and bone health, improves cell membrane which results in soft, supple, winkle free skin and my absolute favourite - they help reduce hyperactivity, restlessness and aggression in children! 🍊
.
Our vegan omegas make it easy to get omega 3, 5, 6, 7, 9. The full omega blend. 🧡
.
For $2 a day you are giving your body what it needs to not only absorb the nutrients you are consuming but to keep our central nervous system in check 🙌

  • In times when cooking is more work than play, I often find it quite challenging to keep the enthusiasm and my will to cook high. I usually stay in my comfort zone because I can’t risk cooking something I’ve never tried before for someone else and when it comes cooking for me, I rarely bother to cook anything at all. It comes down to salads and beans, bread with things, overnight oats, porridge and cornflakes. And fruit. And medjool dates.
So when, by chance, I happen to cook something as simples as it is beautiful as it is delicious like this tray of chestnuts and lentils hummus, topped with roasted Hokkaido pumpkin, crispy sage, mixed peppers, hazelnuts and pomegranate, I get really, really happy.
Thank you @derose.method.cascais for allowing me through @carnesoviva to provide you beautiful moments like our monthly brunch at your school and the opportunity of acting more out of the box, inside my favourite box: the kitchen.🍁❤️ 📷 @anitavermelho

  • Think FRESH, HEALTHY first!

WHEATGRASS SHOTS are back! And here's why you'll want them:

1. Wheatgrass is high in many nutrients, and our friends - antioxidants, not to mention LOTS of healthy chlorophyll.
2. It can help lower cholesterol!

3. It may help kill cancer cells - Wow!

4. It can help regulate blood sugar levels.

5. Wheatgrass may alleviate inflammation! Chronic inflammation leads to SO many health problems, including autoimmune disorders, cancer, and heart disease.

6. Human and animal studies have found that the thylakoids in wheatgrass and other green vegetables may increase satiety and weight loss. YAY!

What's NOT to love?!? And remember the more you come to Fresh Healthy Cafe, the more we give to help those in need since 80% of the profit goes to the Saint Francis Foundation

  • This was my lunch from the other day. I had chickpeas, fava beans, corn, carrots, green cabbage, red cabbage, baby kale and beetroot hummus. I made the beetroot hummus myself for the first time and I love it.
For the beetroot hummus I just blended a can of chickpeas with a glove of garlic, 2 tablespoons of tahini, the aquafaba from the can of chickpeas and one cooked beetroot.
Have you ever had beetroot hummus? How do you like it?

  • okay, here it is – my weigh-in for the week: 206.2, yikes.

I pledged that I would be transparent in my journey so in the time I’ve been away from posting, I put on a little extra fluff... I’m still cute doe. Anyway, I know I know, I shouldn't focus on the number (and I'm working on that) but seeing the number on the scale hit me with sadness and disappointment. my lowest weight was 188.1 lbs months ago, which (let’s spin for positives here), 1) consistency in healthy eating and exercising works and 2) I am fully capable of reaching my goals. yesterday marks the day I started believing in myself again.
I’m learning I’m not less than my weight; it does not define me. I’m learning to openly share my highs AND lows. I’m human, I make mistakes and I’m fully capable of growing in a positive and healthy way.

I can do it. you can too.
we can do it, team.

  • First off... people have gotten soft.

We all seem to gravitate towards the easier, softer way.

You can not buy your health. No matter what coach you hire, supplement your buy etc.

You HAVE to put in the work!

Secondly, stop viewing this as hard. Shift your perception, change the game.

Try words out like... It’s challenging, or its growth, or it’s new, or it’s different... anything but the word hard.

So today, remember this: You are worth it to pick the “hard” that will keep you moving forward. The one that will get you closer to your goals not further way.

You got this.. ❤️
