- COURAGE vs. FEAR
As I lay on my mat today, I sat through another wave of fear. It was so strong, it choked me. My natural instinct was to run! It will always be my default to run. But I stayed and I reflected and I turned my fear into a positive realization.
For many years, while I was in early recovery from ‘my demons’, I became a recluse. I had to. It was the safest way to stay away from triggers and potential harm. But after a while, it went from being the healthy choice to the unhealthy choice.
Previously, my fear of getting hurt kept me isolated. Today, I realise that whilst I feel fear (and strongly!), it is actually a healthy response to taking risks. It means that I have actually been doing what I set out to do and that is to have #courage to grow. To throw myself in the deep end and into the hands of the Gods - and to #trust that all will work out exactly as it should.
One of my favourite quotes is from Paolo Coehlo, who says “Courage isn’t the absence of fear. Courage is having fear and doing it anyway”. .
Why do you think the Nike slogan is the most successful slogan in the history of branding? Because no one said ‘Maybe Do it’. Maybe, is the easy way out. No growth happens under the umbrella of ‘Maybe’. Nike (which means victory btw and where my name comes from!😉) – says JUST DO IT. Because that is the only way to reach the end goal, or at the very least, grow whilst trying.
We always have two choices to approach fear. Fuck Everything And Run, or Face Everything And Rise. So, as I am experiencing my waves of fear and anxiety at the moment, I have to give myself credit that I am only feeling this way, because I am FUCKING DOING IT!
Anyone who knows me personally and where I came from, will know just why this is such a big deal. #odaat

- First real practice after coming back from #india
It has been 2 weeks with almost no practice.
Though my body was signaling me it's resistance to that rest, it was the best thing I could grant it.
I feel a little bit stiff now, but i know it will pass quickly. In the same time I feel the effect of resting.
My body feels stronger, more able and less painful.
If you are doing a regular practice and you are feeling stuck it might be not that you're doing not enough, it might be that you need a rest.
Remember that and from time to time, every couple of months of a regular practice, do a stop. Take a rest, for a week or more, do a different activity, and come back refreshed 🙏🏻

Finally managed my finances a little and learned more about investments and stuff. Being a freelancer + your own boss means this things become extra important and extra neglected🙈
Made a proper meal just for myself thrice this week. I have a habit of making the easiest quickest thing possible if only am gonna eat it. Making an effort for my own self feels good though!
Completed the first 4 tasks of my to-do list almost every day!
Didn't use any disposable plastic this week.
Slept for 8 hrs thrice this week!
Reached out for 4 things that I want instead of assuming I don't deserve them or am not good enough for them.

With how hectic mornings can sometimes be, I always do things the night before to minimize things to do when I wake up. For instance, every night before I go to bed the kitchen needs to be cleaned - countertops wiped down and all dishes in the dishwasher. Then when I wake up, I have a clean area to peacefully start my day and to feed the animals, make my coffee, and make my lunch. But if I wake up to anything dirty, I have strong enough OCD that I have to clean it before doing anything else which just eats up extra time.
Once I’m in my car driving to work, I either prefer to drive in silence so I can set positive intentions for my workday, or I listen to a great new enlightening audiobook which, after doing a quick swipe through my audible books, all seem to be focused on spirituality, yoga, or some aspect of the mind and how it operates. There’s nothing I love more than consciously learning how to change the way the mind thinks, especially once I discover I have an unhealthy habit or belief system going on. Mornings are fresh starts to new days so they’re the perfect opportunity to implement new routines.
