  • Grizzly bear on the shore of Yellowstone Lake this morning. We camped at Bridge Bay last night as a short getaway into the park. It was a comfy first night of camping in our Subaru Forester!

  • Today is the last day of the Festival of Biodiversity! At the event, we also shared the results from the comprehensive survey of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve - we have found around 200 species which may be new to the nature reserve, and they include plants, spiders, and even a stick insect! We also recorded may more species that are very rare in Singapore within the nature reserve. This highlights the importance of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve as a refuge for our flora and fauna, and the importance of conserving them.

Join us today from 10.30am - 10.30pm at the HDB Hub Mall, Toa Payoh, to learn more about the plants and animals that call Singapore home. See the interactive exhibition booths, performances, and workshops by various nature groups and school partners. Or try your hand at simple arts and craft while learning about our local biodiversity! See you there!

  • From our encounter with pilot whales a few days back. I have not been in the water with these whales as of yet, but can’t wait to give it a go. Supposedly they are a bit more unpredictable the orcas, but just the idea of seeing this underwater makes it all worth it. Under the surface there must have been at least 3 times more, and the pod was several hundreds strong. Even in the pristine waters off the North Atlantic, the pilot whales are found to be contaminated with high amounts of pollutants such as DDT and PCB. If you want to protect these amazing creatures, keep going in the green direction. Photo shot during our ongoing @arcticwhale.no expedition. Photo by @tordkarlsen ⁣
