Please get into the manner of re-racking all of your weights after you have completed using them because it is unfair on the next member. Also, it is not fair etiquette to leave dumbbells and barbells lying around on the floor of the gym.

It doesn’t take very long to put your weights back on the weight rack, and while you are doing so, you are also working your muscles and getting a mini workout in the process.

So this video & advice that I am trying to get across is that you should anyhow re-rack your weights to express respect to the other gym members.

  • Day 59: 
Today we went to a Japanese Hibache Steakhouse called Shogun for dinner. Even without rice or noodles I'm sure I went over carbs but we had a really great time celebrating with some friends. My oldest came with us & he had a fantastic time. 
Tomorrow my goal is to fast for as long as I can with just water. I've never extended fast so I'm not putting a time on it, just as long as I can. Starting from 9:30 this evening when we left the restaurant.  Wish me luck!! 🍀
Also, we had Popeye's for lunch. I always get the 5pc naked with blackened ranch & green beans. •

  • Do you ever feel like “healing” is actually taking a toll on you? Like, it should be feeling rejuvenating, fulfilling, joyful, etc.... but instead you feel drained and anxious?

Same. Here. 🙋🏼‍♀️ When I’m feeling #healingburnout / #spiritualityburnout here’s what I do:
.
Close my laptop and put my phone down. Sigh, moan, groan - vocally expressing my feelings. Then I do something else.
.
“Something else” might be going on a walk or dancing. OR- you know what feels best sometimes? Doing something that feels TOTALLY OPPOSITE of “spiritual” or “healing”.
.
Like, for me this might look like: skipping the shower, sitting my grungy-ass down on the couch with frozen pizza, drinking beer, and watching reality TV.
.
Just do what you want. Don’t get caught up with how it “should be” and just let yourself go, let yourself flow, let yourself GROW beyond the expectations you’ve set for yourself. See how that feels.

  • It’s Face-to-Face Friday! A day when we celebrate our healthy glow up. A day when we celebrate the person we’ve worked so hard to become. But also a day we honor our past self and appreciate all they went through to get us where we are.

Listen that girl on the left… She was beautiful. But she was lost. She was hurting. She was scared. She wanted more. She dreamed every day of a bigger life. A life full of adventure. Climbing mountains. Chasing goals. Finding fulfilling success.

One day she woke up and decided she was done wishing. She decided she was ready to do whatever it took to make her dream a reality.

I have been on quite the journey since I woke up that day and have worked hard over these last four years. I didn’t just “lose weight”. This is so much more than a “weight loss” journey. I got healthy and strong. I healed my trauma. I overcame addiction and fear. I overcame my obsession with my weight. I gained a whole new lease on life. I discovered inner strength and self-love that I didn’t think would ever exist.

I am so utterly happy and proud of my journey. I am so eternally grateful for all the support along the way. 4 years later I can say I am finally truly living my dream and I can’t help but glow.

Baby girl look at us now. Thank you for waking up. Thank you for chasing your dreams. Thank you for learning to love yourself. Thank you for prioritizing yourself. Thank you for fighting everyday to get us here. Thank you for helping me find my worth.

  • TRAINING UPPER BODY 💦

I’ve been trying to train upper body once a week in between my leg rest days and this helps me keep my upper body toned and strong 💪🏽 building muscle in my back and shoulders helps me to lift heavier and with better posture during my leg days (= bigger glute gains 😋).

Some of my favourites in the gym for a toned back are: lat pull downs, assisted pull ups, bent over rows & seated cable rows 🙌🏼
.
And for sculpted shoulders: side lateral raises, shoulder press, front raises & upright rows.
