  • I love being able to spend time here and wake up to all of this beauty! I’m so lucky it’s so close to where I love! They have the best hotel + spa hands down! I love this place! This morning as I was leaving I had to have one of my favorite Cuban lattes! 🤩☕️💕

  • Camino Day 32 | Portomarín —> Palas de Rei | 24.8km/15.4mi
⠀
We learned from yesterday’s mistake and set out by 6:30, walking back over the river and through the woods (lol) in pitch dark and heavy fog with our headlamps to light the way.
⠀
Almost 5 miles later, we came to the first town and stopped for a slow breakfast of pan con tomate y huevos fritos at a busy cafe.
⠀
It was hard to get ourselves going again, setting out from the warmth of the cafe into the chilly, damp fog, but I kept dreaming about a nice warm bath as a reward.
⠀
The fog eventually gave way to blue skies and sun shining through the trees to make intricate patterns on the path.
⠀
When we went to book a room a few days earlier, EVERYTHING on booking.com for Palas de Rei was completely filled (I even called each place to confirm), so we booked a rural hostel outside of town that had a shuttle to take us from the town and deliver us back in the morning to continue our walk from where we left off.
⠀
After lunch I called the hostel to see where/when we would be picked up. Note that my Spanish comprehension over the phone is significantly worse than in person so when the lady kept asking what I thought was if booking.com had called me, I could not understand why they would be calling me and why this woman wouldn’t tell me when she would pick us up.
⠀
I got off the phone confused and frustrated with my lack of understanding and ability to communicate, worried that we didn’t have a place to stay that night.
⠀
I explained the situation to our server at the restaurant and got him to call the woman back. He got off the phone promptly saying they were coming to get us right now.
⠀
We sat outside waiting for over an hour before a guy showed up. He handed me his phone which had on it the Google translation of what I hadn’t understood on the call: they had overbooked and were taking us to a comparative rural hostel about 25 minutes away.
⠀
The hostel was beautiful & empty, we had the whole place to ourselves while Daddy Yankee pumped over the loudspeaker in the garden (which was a bit odd, tbh). The lady was nice, the food was wonderful, with salad fresh from her garden & chicken sizzling in front of us.

  • It’s only crazy till it happens. -

Undoubtedly every major decision worth noting throughout history was thought to be crazy at one point. More often than not there was more than one person that thought it was crazy and expressed their opinion. -

The thing about crazy choices is they require crazy faith. And more often than not that crazy faith is hazy faith, meaning you can’t really see what’s on the other side but it’s also too late to turn around so you gotta send it through the darkness till you see that light penetrating at the end. -

So how does it turn from crazy to reality if you can’t see the other side? I think too many of us are met with an opportunity to be crazy but instead of going where God is leading we decide to stay where we are and miss out on the miracle. It’s hard to see the crazy reality come to fruition if your still stuck on the bench deciding if it’s a good idea or not. -

The thing with God is He doesn’t need the smartest or most qualified person, he needs the person who’s gonna be crazy enough to listen through the haze. Remember, it’s only crazy till it happens. -

Throwback to one of the coolest little islands I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to go back to this paradise! -

Be blessed and stay stoked😎🤙

  • Sunday mornings vibes! He’s become our friend! Harold the Hawk seems to like to have morning coffee with me! ☕️😍 So far in our yard we’ve seen coyotes, bobcats, owls, quails, rabbits, large lizards, hawks and a king snake was in our house one night thankfully no rattlesnakes. 🦅🐍🦎🦉🐆🐕🐇🌵🌵🌵 We love living in the mountains of Scottsdale and in the Sonoran Desert (high desert)! Nature and wildlife are everywhere! So amazing!💕

What do you think this is? 🤔

With its flourishing vegetation and unique landscapes the Azores are the closest we get to a tropical paradise in continental Europe. The islands have volcanic origins and and such are home to many volcanic formations includings the (inactive) cones in the photo above, or caldeiras, lava fields and subterranean lava tube and caves.

One of my favorite excursions with @korosunresort is the Vuadomo Waterfalls trek. To reach it, there’s a 15-minute hike through a rainforest and hillside plantation. The greenery is breathtaking (see more in stories). Towards the end of the trail you can hear the falls which are easily accessible via a stone pathway. We had the entire place to ourselves and basked in the cool, refreshing water as long as we wanted. #korosunresort #savusavu #fijiislands #waterfall

Mountain lions are born spottet, with blue eyes and rings on their tails, but by the time they are adults, they generally be tan or grayish in color, without spots.
