  • Ремонт порога на #w124 #e280 тоже пару лет назад. Так же, как и с полом - донорских деталей небыло, делал из листа.

  • It's storytime! Pt. 5
---
Hey, i forgot to mention, that i probably hold the world's guiness record for the longest wheel refinishing process ever! Well not really, but it took me whole 3 years!
---
So, after i got my wheels from that fun widdener, testfitted them, and found out that -10deg of camber should do it. Well, it would be perfect, but i was after numbers at the time, and also wanted to make my benz as low as possible. And it wasn't. Those -10 degrees seemed weak, and because of cambered 18"s it was more like Offroad, than VIP-inspired...
---
(FUN FACT: the more cambered your wheels are, the higher your car gets off the ground)
---
That's why i started cutting my beautiful oem fenders! I was still a little afraid of doing the rears, so tried on the front first, and i liked that look alot. Then i started experimenting with suspension and camber setups. But that's a story for future times! Now back to the wheels.
---
I tried to be a smart, and decided that first i will do the chasis for the wheels, and then refinish them. And who could've thought, that it will take the whole 3 years to this stage.. Fast forward to 2019 summer, I was supposed to be in the @chillngrillfest event in two weeks, so i asked my friend and best refinisher i know, @johns__customs to polish my wheels. He cursed me with every curseword possible for those shitty widened lips, dropped a lot of customers aside, but he managed to do my wheels in time.
---
I was really rushing, painted my wheel centers with spray can, with random color, and did a really shitty job that i'm not proud of. But f*** it, i had to make it.. then all of sudden, at event day, a local tire shop managed to scratch my freshly polished lip, center, and damaged one tire. (It was a long process of refunding, but i will skip it for now). And since a lot of other things added at once, i didn't go to that event with this benz. It's a really sad moment for me till this day, but it is what it is.
---
Forwarding to this month, i started to fix my wheels. They will be repolished with brushed centers. It's taking forever to do it by hand, but i want them to be as perfect as possible this time 👷

Stay tuned for Pt. 6!
