  • Did you know I’m the goodest girl?
Every morning I sit patiently & wait for my humans to weigh out my brekkie.
I wish they’d hurry up sometimes but I still wait.. 🍽

  • Hey dad, I'm guarding the place while you're gone. Making sure anyone walking down the hallway knows that they better not try to come in here. 💪🏾

  • When the morning walk is just too pretty to handle ❤️ Today I tried getting an appointment with my chiropractor. I haven’t been there since before I got Louie. I call them and say, that I think I need an appointment but that we need to talk about Louie first. The receptionist says that there’s a note in my file that I can bring my service dog but that it has to stay in the reception. This is what I feared. So I tell her that won’t work. That he’s a service dog and the whole point of him is that he’s with me all the time...especially in situations like the chiropractor where my nervous system is prone to overload. The receptionist then says that he has to stay in the reception but that they of course will help me get from the reception to the chiropractor’s room. I realise that she thinks I’m blind and that a service dog is the same as a seeing eye dog. I tell her that I can see just fine, thank you, and that Louie is there to prevent or stop flashbacks and anxiety. And that I will not be leaving him in the reception. She is really confused at this point and says that this is beyond what she can make a decision about, and that she would call me back. I haven’t heard back. I’ll have to call them again tomorrow. And if they are firm on their no, I will have to report them to the human rights council. We just got a new handicap rights law about a year ago, making sure we aren’t being discriminated against in public. But the law is not very specific so I have an obligation to report any discrimination I encounter to make sure a judge will specify what the actual boundaries are. 🤦‍♀️ I’m tired just thinking about it. But I will not stand for any discrimination.
