  • These raised beds are so easy to set up and start growing my seeds. I also have a few plants that are ready to transplant. I'm on this, let's do it!!!! I love to grow my own and get my hands dirty. I'm a jamaican boy and I'm used to growing food in dirt so these gardens in England with paving slabs you have to learn to improvise. 
Last year I had loads of pots which was very high maintenance, they needed watering constantly especially during the summer months, not only that but the plants in pots became root bound so this stunted their growth. I'd rather have happy plants this year that can stretch out their roots and thrive creating a far better yield.
I grew so much last year this is what I can remember; carrots, runner beans, potatoes, kale, lettuce, strawberries, tomatoes, beetroot, garlic, spring onions, mint, spinach, baby broccoli, chilli debonair,  bell peppers, scotch bonnet, eggplant, courgette. I'm a bit delayed this year and the time is getting on so my grown your own journey begins. 
By growing your own produce you know what your putting into you body. I love the opportunity to reconnect with nature. Being outside calms my nerves and relaxes my mind it's very therapeutic. Plus it can be a family affair my kids love helping me tend to the plants especially the eating lol

  • #TFWVIFW Veganism is going to be a solution to a problem it never intended to solve: efficiency. People may ignore compassion, their health, the environment, etc., but there is one thing that will convert them overnight - money.

As Vegan products become substantially cheaper than factory farming and less demanding of physical space, they will best their animal product competition financially. Your average American will eat Vegan products based on price and convenience alone. The funny thing is the path to a Vegan victory has already been set; it’s just a matter of time. Veganism is fucking winning.

: É𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 🧂 - 1 cuillère à café de poudre d’oignon - 1 cuillère à café de cumin moulu - 1/2 à café d’origan moulu - 1/2 cuillère à thé de paprika fumé - 1/4 cuillère à thé de flocons de piments rouge, sel, poivre. - 1/3 de tasse de farine de riz - 1 tasses de maïs frais ou en conserve.
- 1 poivron haché - 2 cuillère à soupe de persil haché finement
- huile végétal pour la friture 
Mélangez les pois chiches, l'oignon, l'ail, le jus de citron vert et toutes les épices dans un robot culinaire.
Ajoutez la farine de riz et mélanger à nouveau.
Mettez le mélange dans un bol et ajoutez le poivron, le maïs et le persil hachés. 
Remuez avec une cuillère ou utilisez vos mains.
Formez 8 galettes et faites-les frire avec de l'huile dans une poêle des deux côtés (environ 5 minutes chacune) jusqu'à ce qu'elles soient dorées.

Dernière étape : Régalez vous !!! .

  • ❤Chickpea Peanut Stew
1 can chickpea, rinsed and drained
1/2 medium white or red onion, diced
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 inch fresh minced ginger or 1 tsp ginger powder
2 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp cumin
2 cups cubed sweet potato
1/3 cup chunky peanut butter
1/4 cup red lentils
1/4 tsp salt or to taste
3 cups vegetable broth
5 collard leaves, cut into strips 🥬

For Instant Pot, add all ingredients except collards to cooking pot. Stir to evenly distribute and seal pressure cooker completely. Set pressure cooker to manual for 10 minutes and allow to pressure to naturally release. Unseal pressure cooker and stir in collard green strips to naturally wilt from the heat of the stew. 🥣

If cooking on stove top, add onions to a large pot and saute for 3 minutes on medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, cumin and smoked paprika,  allowing seasonings to become fragrant (about 2 minutes). Add in chickpeas, lentils and tomato paste and fold into onions and seasonings. Add in vegetable broth and peanut butter, give mixture a good stir to evenly mix. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat back down to a simmer and cover with lid, allowing stew to cook for about 20 minutes or until sweet potatoes are cooked all the way through. Turn off heat and add in collard green strips, stirring to incorporate into stew. Season stew to taste and serve with scallions, cilantro and avocado to your liking.😊

I grew up in New Zealand, where farming, hunting and fishing is extremely popular, and many of my friends and family members still participate in these industries and cultures

I ate animal products for 25 years, and if you told me I'd be vegan 5 years ago I would have laughed in your face

4 small squashes cut in half
2 tbsp olive oil
Sea salt
Black pepper

To cook the squash:
Pre heat your oven to 180c (350f)
Remove the seeds of the squashes and score the flesh diagonally.
Place the butternut squash on baking trays and rub with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place in the oven and bake for 45-60 minutes, until tender inside and caramelised on the outside.

Mushroom filling:
1 large onion roughly chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic minced
2 red peppers diced
250g Mushrooms finely chopped
2 big handfuls of kale
6 sundried tomatoes chopped up finely
4 tbsp pine nuts toasted or pumpkin seeds if preferred
4 tbsp sunflower seeds toasted
1 tbsp tamari
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tbsp vegan Worcester sauce
1 tsp sea salt
Black pepper
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp fresh thyme

To make the filling:
Add the onion and oil to a medium pan and fry gently on a low heat for around 10 minutes until soft and browning.

Add the garlic and fry for a further minute. Next add the peppers and mushrooms and cook off 5-6 minutes until soft. Stir in the kale and sundried tomatoes. Turn off the heat when wilted.

Toast the sunflower seeds and pine nuts in a dry pan until slightly golden.
Add the sunflower seeds & pine nuts to a mini chopper. Pulse a few times.
Add the seeds to the pan along with the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine. Set aside.

To serve:
When the squash is cooked load the filling into the cavities, top with fresh thyme and more toasted pine nuts. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
