  • Lovely views from High Tor walk with Pip today looking down towards Matlock Bath, you can just make out the rides of Abraham Heights, wouldn’t have fancied being in them in the winds today though!

Les bonnes sensations et l'envie commencent à revenir!

  • I survived my first @transrockiesrun_official. What an incredible adventure. Thank you to @hylandspowered for giving me this opportunity. If you haven't run this race before I would highly recommend it. Such an incredibly beautiful experience. I met so many wonderful people and I was really sad to say goodbye. The volunteers/crew were absolutely amazing. .
.
I had a few challenges along the way. After stage 1 I developed severe blisters on my stump, which made running a little painful and when I crossed the finish line I realized my tread had totally come loose on the bottom of my blade. The Transrockies crew were amazing and found super glue and fixed my leg for me. How awesome is that. Stage 2 was definitely the hardest stage for me. We started at around 9000ft and climbed up Hope pass to around 12400ft. The altitude and climb to the top was no joke. Coming down from Hope pass was super challenging with the downhills and at around mile 8 I fell hard so it meant I pretty much limped to the finish line. I was super emotional as I made it across the finish line but then I got the most amazing surprise. My husband had flown to Colorado with the kids to come and surprise me at the finish line for my Birthday. How incredible is that. .
.
It has been an absolutely amazing experience and a HUGE thank you to all the amazing volunteers/crew. I definitely will be back for the 6 days. .
.
3 days with around 60 miles and 8800ft/2660m elevation gain and running at altitude. More photos to follow😉. #transrockiesrun #hylandspowered #trailrunning #trailrunner

  • There is a lot of negativity cloaked in “body positivity” — “imagine how much you’d accomplish if you didn’t spend your time working out/counting calories/etc.” — “you’ll gain it all back after a 130 lbs weight loss, it’s not sustainable, any restriction is bad, your self worth is not defined by a before and after picture” — y’all have the right to whatever body you want and whatever practice makes you feel happy and fulfilled. I don’t owe anyone an explanation for mine. I am happy practicing the discipline that gets me up at 4:30 AM to feel the joy of running. I am happy practicing the discipline of nourishing my body with the food that makes me feel good and fueled. On the left, my first 5k after fighting through Couch to 5k. 55 minutes! On the right, just finished a 62 mile bike/3 mile run brick in the peak phase of Ironman training (with 11 marathons, 4 ultramarathons, and 2 Half Ironman triathlons ✅). Do what you love, and let others do the same. There’s enough judgment in this world. #weightlosstransformation #transformationtuesday #naturalweightloss #weightlossjourney #naturalweightlossjourney #runner #running #couchto5k #ultrarunner #marathonrunner #ironmantraining #positivevibesonly
