  • People ask us a lot how we work and come home to take care of a farm and keep up with everything... #truth we don’t. We prioritize... each other, animals, house. We come home and shed the exhaustion of a people day and connect with our roots. This means our floors need to be swept, the house needs a good dusting, the kitchen counter is usually hidden ... but it’s better than coming home and slowing dying in front of the t.v I hope when we’re gone those left feel inspired to live their best lives and follow their dreams.... #farmgirl #simple #emptynesterfarmlette #farmlife #liveyourdreams

  • 5.21.19 ❤️ @joycemeyer devo with the #truth this morning. As a Christian, I want people to see that even in the midst of the trials and not so pretty circumstances we ALL go through—I STILL CHOSE JOY. I still have peace through the Holy Spirit. And I can only do that through #JESUS. That’s the difference. It’s not that He promises me to take away all of my problems—>He promises to give me the grace & strength to WORK THROUGH them. Never giving me anything I can’t handle. And here’s the thing, He wants to give that to everyone. 😉❤️🙌🏼 #loveoutloud

  • True, true and true. #truth 💖👍
.
My takeaway? In addition to having courage, it's important to know what we want so that we can take action -- both consciously and unconsciously -- to get it. For me knowing what I wanted solidified when I made a dream vision board (which was actually the entire surface of a table at one point), wrote my ideal life and my grand life articles, and later brought it to life by creating a mind movie. Having music with lyrics and watching my selected photos as a video while in a meditative state really enhanced things for me. Anyone else have a dream board or project they're proud of?

  • 🎥 Big Fish - 2003. Director - Tim Burton.
•
The Good:
✔ Life lessons. Through the medium of storytelling, the father in this film teaches both his son, and the audience, to not take life too seriously. Beautiful message encouraging us to enjoy it while we can.
✔ Bright Burton. Usually Mr Burton's film are dark and gothic with macabre moods and emo's. A beautifully buoyant film that looks as lovely as the messages it is portraying.
✔ Albert Finney. He completely steals the show with his performance. I hope I am like him when I am of wrinkle.
•
The Bad:
❌ Side characters. While the focus of the film is on Ed Bloom's stories, other, less important characters were seemingly there only as soundboards to his whimsy.
❌ Personal peril. As a stress head, watching this envoked some profound feelings of my own. I started to examine at how I take things too seriously and made me reflect about how I've wasted a fair bit of my life through worrying. Damn morality... I'm not crying! You're crying!
•
The Geeky:
🤓 Ewan McGregor was cast as young Ed Bloom when producers noticed the striking similarity between him and pictures of a young Albert Finney, who plays seinor Ed Bloom.
•
The Verdict:
Big Fish is a wonderful little film. Unlike other, bleaker Burton worlds - this is a world full of wonder, with a sunnier, more uplifting disposition. The storyline is simple. A father who has a reputation of chatting shit, is questioned by his mopey non-believer of a son. When Bloom Sr. falls ill, boy Bloom demands truth - to better understand the true identity of his Dad. The beauty of Big Fish is the father's reluctance to live a "normal" life. He opts to tell tales to make existence more interesting, ultimately leaving behind a positive legacy. The tales he tells are intelligent and wise metaphors - and decoding their true meaning was something I had a great time with. There is still some trademark Burton in this for his fans, but for me, it felt like a more complete, more family friendly story. Big Fish is about morality, and finding joy in the everyday things. It offers an opinion at how life should be lived, through the eyes of someone who sees it as the miracle that it is. 7.5/10

  • In the wise words of Brene Brown, you can either be in the arena - doing your thing, pouring out your heart, taking risks, fueling your passion, loving, doing all the brave things.. or you can be on the sidelines throwing criticism towards the people in the arena. Because the people in the arena, they get each other. They know what it means to show up for their lives, & they know that they will get their butt kicked a few times & that it’s worth it. For anyone in the arena right now dealing with the critics, stick to being close and valuing the opinions of those in the arena too. I’ve seen a few people get aggressive on social media recently (I mean it happens. All. The. Time.) and even have some random comments at times on my post (I delete & block). I don’t take anything personally, half the time the comments don’t make much sense actually. But what’s important for everyone to remember is when people are on here putting out authentic, feeling material - it’s gonna make people feel. Think. Move. Question. That’s the point of it all. We cannot put thought provoking material on here without provoking in general. And I love and encourage comments that disagree that have perspective and thought. Because if you are thinking it, others are too and it creates important and needed dialogue. But attacking stuff? Not here for it. And I hope you aren’t too. I hope you choose the arena again and again, and when a critic comes your way, I hope you set your boundaries. I think we need to support each other when we are all out here doing our thing, getting our ass kicked at times. Because it’s soo worth it. 💜 #nytherapist
