  • Stopped into Denver for a night out of the car and hostel chats. What a place!
.
Note the small amount of snow on the ground... there was an unseasonable snowstorm in the past couple of days, which should make the drive over the mountains a little interesting.

  • Some camp sites you go for the solitude, others for the view. And, then there are some that you for the adventure. I’ll take any of the above.

  • Being a Real Estate agent comes with the comments of “Real Estate isn’t a real full time job” or “Your job is so easy” and my favorite “I think I would be good at your job.” Should that be insulting or should we view that as a compliment because we make it look so easy?
Anyhow, Just because we don’t have 9-5’s everyday, doesn’t mean we don’t put over 8 hours of work per day.
Here is a break down of my day-to- day work: •
💻Administrative: Being a Real Estate agent means running your own small business. Some of these things can get pretty boring, but it is all included in the day-to-day:
– Keeping up with emails, making copies, keeping client files organized. There are also business oriented tasks such as taxes, receipts, expenses •
📈Marketing Properties:Getting listings sold is obviously in the forefront of the Day-to-Day.
Here is what I do to get more eyeballs on listings:
– Scheduling and preparing for open houses, taking listing photos, writing property descriptions, creating MLS listings, creating property flyers, social media posts, videos• 🙋🏽‍♀️Marketing Ourselves to Gain more Clients:My goal is that when your friend says to you, “I’m thinking about buying a house!” You can reply back, “Call Maria!” —Most of my clients are referrals like that.
Here’s what I do to achieve this:
- Blogging, social media ( Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) networking events, lead generation, maintaining a CRM system •
💰Working with Buyers: Beyond just showing houses, a daily activity is to spend a decent part of the morning looking through brand new listings. Every single day, I find property matches for my current clients and email them immediately. I also just familiarize myself with every single new listing so I am the best source of information to all my clients.
Other buyer related tasks: writing up contracts, negotiating contracts, attending home
inspections, attending Realtor tours, etc. •
🏠Working with Sellers: Aside from actively marketing properties, there are tasks directly related to listings that include:
– Constantly researching recently sold properties, responding to online leads, scheduling and coordinating buyer showings, gaining feedback

  • Back in 1975, I was just 3 years old enjoying a robust phase of growing up as I discovered that my legs could take me outside into the garden faster instead of crawling. I could be found chewing on plants, dirt, a caterpillar or a snail, sheltered from the sun by my grandmas hanging orchids, in Malaysia. At 3, I was too young to know that hundreds of miles away, it was the start of a horrific genocide for one neighbouring country, Cambodia, thanks to the skewed idealism of a man named #polpot Sent to France on a scholarship, he got lured into the French Communist Party movement and failed to obtain a degree. Not satisfied with being a teacher upon returning home, Pol Pot joined The Workers Party and in 1975 successfully led the Khmer Rouge army to defeat the Lon Nol regime. To have total control on the people, the Khmer Rouge stripped the nation of the educated, the influential, the landowners and anyone who stands in their way were killed. Cities were abandoned as the people were forced to work as farmers in the countryside. The key was to create a Cambodia full of simple, uneducated and hardworking peasants who will not oppose the regime. Outside ties were cut, family relations severed and private ownerships were abolished as the country start a new phase known as “Year Zero” where strict rules were implemented onto everyone. The Khmer Rouge had no qualms in killing those who were against them and it was estimated that 8 million people perished at their hands whether directly or indirectly. Victims were gruesomely killed by sharp bamboo, hammer, spear and spades as they ran out of bullets with bodies thrown into mass graves or dumped into trenches making headlines worldwide. With the help of Vietnamese troops, Khmer Rouge was defeated in 1979 and from 1980, Cambodia embarked on a healing journey until what we see today. #watthmey Follow @2nsinmelbourne for more updates on our #cambodia adventure. #worldtraveler #getoutside #wanderlust #mytripmyadventure #cambodiatravel #worldtraveligd #tripstagram #khmer

  • When I saw the Masai tribesmen herding cattle on their cell phones, I realized that there are few places left on Earth that are truly remote. Which is to say, I have cell signal.
Yesterday we explored the infinitely beautiful Lake Manyara national park. We saw baboons, water buffalo, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and many other animals. These young bull elephants came directly up to our vehicles and shook their trunks at us, full of adolescent bravado. Overall, I can only say that it was one of the most amazing days I’ve ever experienced.
Today we depart for Serengeti National Park, which is a place I only imagined I’d see in my wildest dreams. I can’t wait.
I’m already so in awe of this gorgeous country, and its amazingly friendly people. So grateful for this experience already, and it’s only getting started. 💚
