  • DAY 21‼️- Organise your underwear drawer ‼️ #scarletgabriel30day ————————————————————
👙So back in the day I used to just throw all my underwear in the drawer and scramble for it every day, a few years ago I decided my undies needed some more respect and now all bras are folded, and in colour order, then briefs next to them, followed by socks.
Did this really make a difference to my life? Yes! It’s like the saying “look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves”. Creating good habits in the smallest areas of your home translates to the bigger areas and all in all, it’s a more calming effect on your mind👙 ——————————————————————- #underweardrawer #underwear #braandknickers #thong #thongsong #getyourmindright #bossbabe #organisation #tidyingup #tidyhome #womenwhoclean #organisedwomen #organisedwomeninbusiness

  • So. Running your own show work wise and life wise. Hard choices some days. Procrastination danger. Inertia as well, what to do first? Remember that house just bought. Moving soon. This morning is all about tidying up loose papers and stuff around the house. At the end of the morning everything should be in a folder (done, but kept), on a manageable "to do" pile or in the recycling bin or trash. I am not moving random papers to another house. Wish me luck. I feel my concentration levels will be better once entropy is reduced. #homeoffice #home #tidyingup #choices #entropy #gettingthingsdone #priorities

  • “The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.” - Mike Murdock

When I shared that my nighttime routine was broken up into 18 separate post-its, a lot of people were interested in what I could possibly be doing at night to get ready for bed!

So I made a chart for you. Building routines into your day not only helps you be more productive but provides structure and discipline when you’re lacking motivation.
What’s your PM routine look like?

  • Even the most experienced chef would love to cook in a kitchen where all the ingredients are on hand and easy to retrieved from the pantry, to save time and let the creativity to flow.
On the other hand, if you are just a busy mom that hates to cook but manage to keep your kids alive providing them nutritious food, then an organize pantry will be way more beneficial for you.

Take a look of several tips that will help you to manage your pantry under control for an easier cooking process. 🥗Create a pantry inventory. Use your phone or Alexa for an easy access.
🥗Follow a FIFO (First In First Out) inventory system.
🥗Empty your pantry sort by type.
🥗Purge expired items.
🥗 Clean pantry.
🥗Re-arrange items.
🥗 Keep a rack only for spices and arrange it by use frequency.
🥗 Keep a shelf for baking essentials.
🥗Keep your dry food together (Rice, beans, pasta, etc.)
🥗 Keep oils, dressings and vinegar and syrup on the same shelf.
🥗Contain items that are alike in bins or baskets.
🥗Label bin, baskets and shelves.

  • 💥Are you the main carer for a spouse, parent, family member or friend?⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
😟If so, you know that caring for a loved one is a full-time job as you need to be constantly on hand. This is particularly challenging if you work or have your own family to look after.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
😓It is often difficult to admit how hard and tiring it can be. Caring for a family member or friend cannot be done by only one person.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✍️You have to learn to delegate. You will burn out if you try to do everything yourself. ⁣⁣

  • There are certain things in every home that only grow in number. Bath towels are one of them. .
Have a bathroom declutter and keep the best quality items and sets of items. Unmatched bath towels instantly make a bathroom look messy so sets are good.
.
Don’t forget to do the beach towels also. Old towels make good rags and can be reused or repurposed.😁👍

  • Sentimental is the last category of the KonMari method for good reason. It's the hardest category to tackle because we can have a deep attachment to items that are associated to a person or a specific memory in our life.

Often times an item can trigger a particular memory or association, but the item is just that, an item. The item should exist in our lives to serve a purpose. Even sentimental items should go through the joy checking process. Assessing how we feel about these items is no different than when we address our feelings towards clothing (the first category of the KonMari Method). When we move along in our KonMari journeys we start to build up our skills in assessing joy. By the time my clients reach the last category, many are amazed at how quickly the category moves along. I usually find this to be the case because the client did all the hard work leading up to this last category. What was once a deeply dreaded process is no longer met with resistance.

  • Does anyone else, put their home to bed? I’ve been doing this for years. And it makes a huge difference for the next morning. I make sure all the rooms are tidy and the dishes are done. I hate the feeling of waking up to yesterday’s mess. It only takes a few minutes each night...and helps start the day off right. #tidyingup #home #happymornings

.
Someone please let me get my hands on a nursery 🙏🏻 My littlest just learned how to climb out of her crib this week so we’ve got a different set of problems on our hands. I keep finding her standing silently next to it in her room...which isn’t creepy at all 🙈
.
How long did your kids last in a crib? Is it time to convert to a toddler bed?

  • I considered myself a pretty organized person. I really did.

I had stuff in labeled bins, papers in labeled files and all of my clothes hung by type (skirts with skirts, t-shirts with t-shirts, etc).

The problem was, I was still completely overwhelmed by my home and spent a LOT of time looking for things I needed.

Why? How? Isn't being organized the answer?

It wasn't for me.

As I decided to start minimizing my possessions, I realized all of that "stuff in labeled bins" was completely unnecessary. I used and needed NONE of it. Getting rid of the items in these bins was never even a consideration for me before that. All of the papers in their nicely labeled file folders? Credit card statements from 10 years ago. Electric bills from a house we had lived in previously which was located across the country. And those clothes all hung up by type? Yeah. There was NO SPACE between the items of clothing and it was so difficult to re-hang things I usually just put the clothes I actually wore on the floor.

Now that I have gotten rid of close to 60% of our household items I can honestly say my life is changed. I can see now that organizing things I didn't need or even want was a complete waste of time and energy. I still couldn't find things easily and I still felt the weight of all of those items on my shoulders.

I now feel free and more in control, at ease and calmer than I ever have before.

Never organize what you can simply get rid of. You only have to let it go once but you have to hang on to it every single day.

  • Clutter can make us feel stressed, anxious and depressed. Research found the levels of the stress hormone cortisol were higher in mothers whose home environment was cluttered.
Neuroscience researchers using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) and other physiological measurements found clearing clutter from the home and work environment resulted in a better ability to focus and process information, as well as increased productivity.

  • Just sayin'.🤷🏼‍♀️⁣
⁣
I used to stockpile extra everything "just in case": pantry food, socks, extra spatulas ("but what if mine breaks and I'm in a dire flipping situation?!😱😱), you name it...⁣
⁣
And then I realized that it makes WAY more sense to have an emergency fund in the bank than trying to plan for every single "just in case" object that I might one day possibly need.⁣
⁣
Honestly, this mindset shift is one of the main reasons my partner and I were able to downsize to a teeeeny tiny 300ft²/28m² apartment (and live to tell the tale😉)!⁣
⁣
👉Are you/were you ever a "just-in-caser"?⁣
⁣
⁣
⁣
[Image description: An upcycled framed chalkboard delivers the following truth bomb: "I'd rather have extra time, extra space, and extra money than extra stuff." But take it with a grain of salt, because Sara reeeeally doesn't have all that much extra space in such a tiny studio.😂]⁣

  • Thanks for joining me last week for the Stupid Small Decluttering Challenge! (If you missed it, check out the last 5 posts.)⠀
⠀
Decluttering and ultimately living "a small life" has been the catalyst for changing and improving my entire life.⠀
⠀
Decluttering was the first step to:⠀
✔️Saving $30,000 for the downpayment on my small house.⠀
✔️Quitting my soul-sucking job and opening up my own business.⠀
✔️Traveling to places I had only seen on TV.⠀
✔️Reducing my carbon footprint and my reliance on "stuff" to make me happy.⠀
⠀
If you were inspired by the Stupid Small Challenge, I've just opened the Two Week Declutter Email Course (link in profile). For each day for 14 days, you'll receive an email from me with a decluttering task. These tasks will range from decluttering your wardrobe and kitchen to decluttering your obligations and mind. ⠀
⠀
There's no forum, nowhere to login and no complicated B.S. This is designed to be a simple email course, so you can focus on the important work of decluttering your home.⠀
⠀
For the next week, I'm offering the course at the introductory rate of $27. That's less than the price of a Target impulse-buy. I'm offering it at this price against the advice of a business coach because I understand what it's like to not have much money, but still need help from a professional. After the next week, I'll be raising the price.⠀
⠀
If you're ready to commit to change, click the link in my bio. If you're hesitating or have questions, feel free to ask below or slide into my DMs.⠀
