  • It was my 22nd birthday this past weekend 🥳 for today’s post I’m going to talk about our adventures for my birthday AND both Michael and I’s fashion choices.... For my birthday adventure we went to the loop to get lunch at @blueoceanstl they had delicious sushi and authentic ramen that was 😋 then we went to the new Ferris wheel at @unionstationstl , totally worth it! The view was beautiful and there was something for the entire fam to enjoy. Definitely a fun place to be a tourist in your own city.
Now I wanted to talk about our outfits, Michael and I both love buy sell trade shops. He is more into street wear and name brands, I’m more into affordable fashion not focused on any certain brand. He got his anti social social club flannel at @reset_stl along with a supreme shirt. We both enjoyed this store! They have a ton of name brand street style clothes, shoes and accessories. Mostly for men but I’m sure I could have found something if i had been shopping for myself.
Next up is @uptownstpeters I found the dress I am wearing along with a few other things for myself here. I loved this place their selection was huge and they also had men’s clothes. Definitely a good place to check out if you enjoy thrifting.
And if you got this far thankyou for reading along! I hope this information was useful! Dm me with any questions! 🥰

  • Already missing my bed this morning <3 I’ll share my daily morning routine I do before classes, in case ur all wondering (u weren’t but it’s fine) 😚⁣
⁣
› The first thing I do is take my medication!! asap!!! lol⁣
› I set my alarm for 20 minutes before I actually need to get up, about 6 a.m, so I can stay in bed!! I either mediate using Sanvello or I play my fave song atm and just try to not think much for the duration of the song.⁣
› I go to the bathroom once I gotta get up, I’ll tone with @lumibasics and use @publicgoods argan oil! Also @origins eye cream is a must!! ⁣
› I get water and check on my plants to see if they are dying on me bc I’m an awful plant mom:/ ⁣
› I eat breakfast before class, so I’ll make either pancakes or eggs w/ a bagel! I gotta fill up bc I won’t be eating until 4ish. Also lots of water because I always forget throughout the day! ⁣
› I get dressed, pack my stuff, then walk to the bus stop bc public transportation for earth <3 ⁣
⁣
That’s my routine! Sometimes i’ll get fancy and light a candle and sometimes i’ll have some real nice morning anxiety to deal with but usually it’s this:) I used to add a lot of things to my morning routine (wellness shots, tea, working out, etc) but it got to be toooo much for me to handle. I simplified it to the bare minimum☺️⁣
⁣
I’d love to hear what’s something you always do every morning!🤔✨

  • “Second hand shopping isn’t a sacrifice”
——
Why shop second hand? Is it worth the effort? How much money do you actually save? Do you find quality pieces second hand? Can you build a wardrobe with second hand items?
Below I’m sharing my personal experience and opinion on second hand shopping, and hopefully it answers my “why” behind my shopping choices and answers some questions I typically get when I chat about thrifting.
——
My outfit for church today - I paid around 15% of retail for my bag, and less than 1% of retail for my coat (these are just rough estimates to give a general idea by comparing items I own to similar currently selling items). I am wearing a wool sweater I picked up for several dollars, and my pants for under $10. Second hand shopping allows the ability to create a quality wardrobe and add in some “splurge” items for pennies on the dollar. It also allows me to avoid supporting fast fashion brands that I could typically afford and used to rely on.
As I browse second hand items I appreciate getting to see how an article of clothing has held up to wear and washing; looking through second hand shops you can see and feel the difference of quality made clothing. It also gives a second life to items that have so much use left in them. I see value in repairing/tailoring quality made clothing that I find; making items I have invested in fit well and last is a huge bonus financially and helps me to create an ethical and sustainable wardrobe on a budget that otherwise wouldn’t have room to do so. My goal is to have items in my wardrobe work hard, by re-wearing and washing items again and again, and a big component of that is having items in my wardrobe that are built to last and timeless, not trendy. Thrifting has also helped me to find my personal style by taking out the “trendy” component of regular shopping, and to have a closet made of items I enjoy wearing.
——
In the spirit of celebrating the positives of second hand items, I’d love if you share your best/favourite second hand find(s) and any accounts you enjoy following that share the love of thrifting 🔄

  • Monday’s off are the best kind of Monday’s. Enjoying a mental health day of just doing things that make me happy which currently means movies and coffee in bed and then picking up a new cabinet to go in my dining room which I’ll share in stories. I can’t wait to style it. Eeek!
