  • The importance of your baby’s sleep environment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are my top tips:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) Keep things calm and neutral in their sleep space⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Less is more. Some colours and toys and books are ok but ensure things can be easily tidied away so as not to be overstimulating when they are settling to sleep.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) A dark room really helps. Get blackout blinds.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) White or pink noise. On for all sleep. All night long. This helps minimise disturbances and create a positive association to sleep time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4) Once your baby is at least 12 weeks old, this is is a great time to get consistent with settling them in the same way, in the same sleep space. Ideally at the same time for every sleep to encourage a great routine and support their circadian rhythm⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5) From 6 months encourage a small soft toy. Keep for all naps and get spares!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6) Don’t be concerned that encouraging things like white noise and a comforter is a sleep prop but actually they can help offer comfort and you aren’t needed for these!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7) If you’d like to put some images up for them to look at, try family photos so they can be reassured by seeing pictures of you and siblings rather than random images.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8) Mum and dad could pop baby’s bedtime clothes under their own for a few hours to add smell to help them feel comforted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 9) A lavender dehumidifier in their room can offer a sensory sleep cue which is calming and relaxing too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • How did you sleep last night, and in general? It is estimated there may be at least 150 million people around the world who have regular poor sleep. When we realise our bodies have an important job at night to not just rest but regenerate, having ongoing poor sleep is not good for long term health. Did you know you actually need good #mitochondrial #energy to sleep? That’s right, 20% of the bodies total energy production is required for testing and repairing. If your cells aren’t functioning well then sleep might not happen easily for you. #carnosinecomplex offers an effective solution that gives your mitochondria a time released regular dose of carnosine which is a #neuromodulator and brings balance to the #nervoussystems which then makes the process of sleep much easier. Being an #insomniac is awful. It is just like torture! Good sleep IS possible! Super charge your mitochondria today ❤️ #sleepremedies #hypothalamus #braintrain #sweetdreams #restandrelax
