🇫🇷Half Ironman du Semnoz 🏔

Je ne fais jamais de « CR », peut être parce que j’estime par égoïsme que chaque expérience est personnelle et ne peut être mieux ressentie que par celui qui l’a vécue.
Néanmoins, sur cette course...si  je devais vous la décrire, 2 mots suffisent : épique 🥶/ inoubliable 🤩

L’année dernière j’ai tenté le triathlon Xtrem @alps_man Donc je me suis dit que cet half ironman du semnoz (col de HC pour les puristes) serait une promenade de santé pour profiter de la vue... C’était sans compter sur les conditions météo...
J’avais été subjugué par le doc « l’enfer du Norse » sur le triathlon extrême Norseman en Norvège, en me disant « pas pour moi ça »
Eh bien il y’a l’enfer du Norse, et dimanche dernier il y’a eu l’enfer du Semnoz...
.
🏊🏻‍♂️Une eau à 14,5°C, c’est frais, mais au-dessus de 11°C ça me va. Juste un détail, j’ai nagé super smooth... les bras ça sert en vélo en montagne...
🚴🏻‍♂️Une ascension dans la pluie et le brouillard avec 20m de visibilité (mystique), 3°C au sommet, une descente sous des trombes d’eau...
Trempé, les dents qui claquent, le corps qui tremble, les pieds et les mains gelés, des crampes au 50e km.
🏃🏻‍♂️Pour finir par une course à pied (sans sentir ses pieds) heureusement au sec mais avec faux plats, en décidant de ne pas forcer pour ne pas finir en pls.

Sur le coup, je me suis dit 100 fois « mais qu’est ce que je fous là sous la flotte et dans le froid ».
Le lendemain, avec le recul, c’est un énorme kiff d’avoir réalisé ce challenge dans de telles conditions dantesques qui ne font que rajouter du piment, du mérite et de la saveur à cette expérience.
Un plus que bon week-end donc, et en plus logé chez mon pote @team_chaud_bouillant que je ne remercierai jamais assez 🙏🏼
Un immense merci également aux bénévoles et au photographe qui ont bravé les conditions et rendu cette course possible, on ne leur rend jamais assez de sourires.

  • So your girl is off doing a motivational talk and presentation today. I’m speaking to individuals who are either currently receiving treatment for or recovering from brain tumours. I have to admit I’m totes emosh. I’ve been where they are and I know the journey that lies ahead of them. I can’t lie or sugar coat the reality..........it’s tough. Incredibly tough and there are going to be days they feel like they can’t go on. But they must. Every small breakthrough, every minor accomplishment is a step towards renewed health. They are going to have to dig deep, they are going to have to find a strength from within that they never knew existed and they are going to make it: “When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change”. Hard to believe when your life is falling apart but it’s true. And one day very soon the incredible people I meet today will discover this too.

  • My workout was crap tonight. 
I ate spoonfuls of peanut butter when I got home, didn’t drink enough water today, took a nap and didn’t workout until 11pm. 
I felt sick and lightheaded my entire workout so I had to take a few breaks. 
But during my last break, I was laying there on my mats, feeling the sweat coming out of my pours and my heart pounding, trying to convince myself I was okay and a new song started, “Stronger” by Kayne West. “That that don’t kill me, can only make me stronger.”
And that one line made me think, you know what? I am strong. I’m getting stronger. Who cares that I took some breaks. It’s just one bad workout. I’m still working hard. I can finish this. 
So I got up, started that song over and finished that mother trucking workout. 
We’re all stronger than we feel at times. Never forget that. ...

  • Get stronger and stimulate muscle growth with mechanical advantage sets (MAS)! MAS is a brutal technique that targets the same muscle group without changing the weight. All you have to do is change the angle of the exercise. The video shows an example of how to perform MAS for a DB chest press. Follow the instructions below and let me know what you think! ⠀⠀
💪🏼1. Choose a starting weight that you can lift in the targeted rep range without dropping in weight. You should be able to hit the reps without an issue for the first exercise.
💪🏼2. Set the bench at a high incline. Once you hit the rep range, drop the bench to a low incline and immediately start pressing. Lactic acid should be hitting you at this point. ⠀⠀
💪🏼3. Your last exercise should be a flat bench press. Things get tough here but don’t quit! Once you finish your sets, you’ll be amazed at how effective this is for strength and size gain. ⠀⠀
Start with 5 sets for 8-12 reps per exercise.

  • Just finished Day 5 of 80 Day Obsession!!! 👊🏻 That’s 5 days in a row I’ve stuck to the commitment I made to myself despite my busy schedule, being sore, being tired or any other excuses I could have made up! 🤭

What’s cool is that I’m actually stoked to do the workouts everyday! 🙌🏻 My sore body might not be so excited but I am! Lol!

  • The majority of my life…I let everything & everyone get in the way of me reaching my full potential...especially myself!🙎‍♀️ I mean who doesn’t want to be able to work towards building a 6 figure business while in your PJ’s sitting on your coach 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ I let fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of the unknown, & the fear of not being good enough STOP me from becoming the best woman, wife, & mom that I was called to be. 
But  2 years ago I changed that.💪👊 I decided to be THAT GIRL who decided to GO FOR IT🙋🏼 I made the decision that I wanted MORE!🙌 ▪️I wanted to become the BEST version of me for my family & friends.

  • Existuje mnoho druhů úsměvu, a i mezi nimi se najde řada nepravdivých - samolibý, arogantní, dokonce také úsměv ze strachu. Tyto smutné úsměvy patří nešťastným lidem, jsou často slyšet nejvíc, a i za nevhodných situací. Je to jen zoufalá snaha skrýt smutnou realitu, která často zastiňuje mysl natolik, že tito lidé nevidí co se skutečně děje kolem nich. Kdo používá úsměv, aby ublížil druhým, téměř vždy se stane slepým a přehlédne to důležité. Když člověk cítí skutečně lásku a štěstí uvnitř v sobě, když si je jistý a nemá pochyby, nikdy nepřistoupí na takovou hru.

It’s a little hard to look at; chronic illness basically stole my whole body and replaced it with a new one. However, at the same time the before picture hides a lot. Sure, my face doesn’t have the tell tell prednisone chipmunk cheeks, but I also was in so much uncontrolled pain and was freaking out because at the time I had no idea why. The first picture came up in my Facebook memories today and without looking at the corresponding post I remembered the night that picture was taken perfectly - I’d gone to a concert with my best friend and then spent the entire thing in the lobby sobbing in uncontrollable pain while my best friend who at the time really didn’t understand what was happening with my health (to be fair neither did I) and was pissed I was missing the concert. The whole night was awful. Now, I might have more pain than I did then, but I have answers, I have understanding, and resources, I have this community. I also have the understanding that I need to put my health over my appearance, even if I hate the chipmunk cheeks and the added weight - those things aren’t the end of the world.
