My mid day snack of choice is an entire small baby watermelon 🍉 with fresh mint on top. I decided to use 1/2 the watermelon as my snack for the afternoon and the other half to juice and make a delicious and refreshing Watermelon Gazpacho! 
Yes guys you heard right... WATERMELON GAZPACHO! Like most fruit watermelon is high in water and low in calories so you can literally indulge as much as you want and not worry about weight gain. 🙌🏼 Although it’s relatively low in sugar, it still has a super sweet taste... why?   • This little monkey loves anything made into a smoothie or squeezable purée, even when it looks THIS green and not a bright pink/reddish color!  In fact, in this picture missy thought I wasn’t looking and was trying to sneak a slurp in 😉. Of course, I wholeheartedly encouraged her!

Summer days sometimes leave us craving lighter, fresh, hydrating meals that are filled with fresh produce and this smoothie hit the spot for us both!

Here are my easy tips for turning a smoothie into a well-balanced meal! .
🍒 Stick to using no more than one cup of fresh/frozen fruits and fill up your blender with veggies (spinach, cucumber, kale, celery, etc.)
. 🍒 Protein is important especially when your smoothie is supposed to replace a meal as it is satiating.  You could use yogurt, cottage cheese, silken tofu, legumes or my favorite and a convenient, super healthy option is @planethempsuperfood hemp protein!
. 🍒 This is the perfect food for adding in plant-based fats such as those found in chia/flax/hemp seeds, nut butters, avocado, which make your smoothie extra filling and a source of heart healthy fats!  Stick to no more than one tablespoon of seeds and butters or 1/4 avocado as these are food which can pile up the extra calories!
. 🍒 Add in a good splash of filtered water, coconut water, maple water, milk or nut milk alternatives or even cold coffee or tea!
. 🍒 And smoothies are perfect for extra flavor and nutrient boosters such as cinnamon, spirulina, turmeric, mushrooms, ginger, matcha powder, chlorella, collagen, etc.

Now get those blenders out and get creative!!! Please let me know in the comments below if you ever include smoothies into your diet! 👇 .

  • Many of you ask me how to get a nicecream this💁🏼‍♀️ thick and creamy. The answer is: Frozen bananas. 🍌🙏🏼 You can use mango and cauliflower as well but if you want a REEEALLY creamy texture, you need frozen ripe (black spot) bananas as a base.
Add a little coconut drink, or whatever liquid that floats your boat, to your high power mixer and blend👉 stop☝️👉scrape down the sides👉let out the air bubbles from the bottom👉repeat. And repeat. And repeat. And eventually👉go bananas and eat.🙌🏼

- 3 frozen very ripe bananas
