  • What is your "why"?
.
A few months ago I wanted to become an entrepreneur because I didn't like my job and wanted to do things in my own way.
.
I could not be more wrong.
.
If I feed my "why" with a negative drive, it will not last. Negative emotions don't result in positive outcomes.
.
So I changed my "why" thinking of my family, my future, what I want to become, not what I want to run away from.
.
Have you had this experience? Comment below, what is your why?

  • At the recent @511tactical Stop the Bleed event at the Phoenix location. The talk of inspiration surfaced on several occasions among those in attendance. As usual, life experiences varied, but we all had an inspiring interest in self-preservation. As a society, we need to acknowledge that it’s too easy to become complacent and at times flat out unconcerned with the common everyday cycle in which we live. However, by working harder at getting better than we were the day before with our capabilities, both psychologically and physically. We can beneficially progress as individuals and a population.
.
Nothing holds more value than knowledge and the ability to perform on demand if needed when a traumatic incident occurs. Especially, if it can increase the chances of survivability for yourself or another. That favorite mobile app we spend countless hours a day on won’t safeguard you from an active occurrence of imminent risk to your wellbeing. Begin building and reinforcing healthy habits to strengthen and condition the mind and body.
🧠⚒Humans are more important than hardware. .
Be the daily inspiration, for yourself and others. Energy is contagious. .

  • Some things bear repeating, because they’re true: repetition isn’t punishment, it’s how you earn a skill.
Consistency ➡️ Comfort ➡️ Confidence.
That recipe, plus being purposeful in what you invest your time on, is what produces #gameskillsgameresults
.
Be self aware: do you actually love this game?? Those that honestly do have zero issue with the process that success demands. There is no way around it, & it takes what it takes. You have to put in the REPS.
.
So much of this also boils down to how you handle adversity & failure. If you struggle with those things, then you’re going to have a hard time getting past the difficult, messy reps it takes to develop a skill & ultimately master it. Furthermore, you have to cultivate the discipline to dive DEEP into a narrow skill set without being tempted in trying to work on a wide set of things. That’s going to be a quick way to fail altogether. “Jack of all trades, master of none.”
.
I’m a broken record at times, & am perfectly fine with that. My aim is that I can help you grasp what it takes if you have ambition, or the audacity to want big things. All great things take GREAT effort. It comes down to talent, the willingness to put the work in, & investing that time into valuable, purposeful work. Even then, everyone can’t make it.
.
Can you?

  • Quick demonstration on bump keys. They are a really popular item in our store and fun to play with. This method is quick and doesn’t require much skill. I prefer lockpicks over bump keys. Because with bump keys you have to carry specific keys for specific locks. Whereas with a set of Bogota lockpicks- you can address almost every lock you’d encounter.

  • Forget talent, talent makes you lazy!⁣
⁣
I hate it when people assume that others have a natural talent with something, when in fact I've found it's often hard earned.⁣
⁣
You see, most people with natural talent, end up relying on it, heavily! And so they spend most of their life 'just getting by', they typically put in less hours and less effort, and still manage to impress their way to a slightly above average life.⁣
⁣
If you want to be TRUELY successful, you don't need natural talent. ⁣
⁣
You need persistency, tenacity and passion.⁣
⁣
The passion will help you continue taking action on the shit days, the tenacity will push you out of your comfort zone, further than you've ever been before and persistency will get yourself back up when your body said you couldn't.⁣
⁣
Today is not your last, it's your chance to kick ass one more time.⁣
⁣
Keep pushing!⁣

You may not get the chance to get to your gun, knife, or another equalizer right away, so training your empty-hands (and footwork maneuvering) will be critical.
.
In Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, there are a few ways to approach countering edged weapons per context.
.
Without giving a long-winded explanation, we start our training with dynamic footwork and striking, then understanding the combat flow of weaponry, then onto tactics, sparring, and scenarios.
.
When you’re behind in timing of the attack in close range – especially empty-hands vs knife – you’ll need to make arm-to-arm contact to the weapon wielding arm when no other option of mitigating/eliminating the threat at distance is available, or there’s not enough time to leverage environment to protect yourself. So, it’s empty-hands you go.
.
The point is to quickly get offline, attack the attack and mitigate the threat as soon as possible - before overwhelming momentum of the attack is generated.
.
Footwork and maneuvering is critical, well, if you’re standing still can mean big trouble. Making maneuvering a priority along with *identifying threats* gives you the ability to get to a position of advantage before things get real ugly.
.
Maneuvering off the line of attack (and/or outside the arc of the weapon) decreases the attacker’s ability to make contact and takes away their timing advantage. The counter-striking in the video (aka knife tapping) is based on the speed and power of edged weapon striking mechanics. It’s used to redirect, slow or oppose the attack, if not injure the arm of the assailant – all of which essentially require equal or greater force to ensure that the strike doesn’t continue to and through the intended target. So, strike the living HELL out of the attacking arm if possible.
.
This is also where I say to gun guys: learn to fight if you ever want to get to your gun. The same applies to any weapon category.
.
That said, never go empty-hand vs knife if you can help it.
