  • Każdego dnia dziękuję losowi za to, że mam taki dom, że spotkało mnie takie szczęście, że mogę żyć w takim komfortowym domu. Że moje dzieci mają swoje wygodne pokoje, że każdy z nas może znaleźć w nim swoją prywatną przestrzeń. Że jest w nim ciepło i wygodnie.   • 😴 What's your sleep hygiene like? By sleep hygiene we mean your sleep habits. Those non-negotiables you do daily to ensure you get enough quality sleep. Do you have good sleep habits or poor ones?

💤 Years ago I foolishly believed that sleep was for the weak! I think we sometimes fall into the trap of thinking we are super human if we don't sleep and work all hours. It can become a dangerous badge of honour if you're not careful.
.
🛏 SLEEP IS VITAL. I went from getting 4-5 hours a night and thinking I was all good to then prioritising sleep and ensuring 7-8 hours is the norm. Wow! What a difference! I never realised just how much of an angry arse I was until I started prioritising those 8 delicious hours of shut eye.
.
📈 Did you know, short sleep duration is one of the primary risks for obesity. In one extensive study, children and adults with short sleep duration were 89% and 55% more likely to become obese respectively (Link to study here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2398753/)
.
🍽 Good sleepers are also more likely to have smaller appetites. When you don't get enough sleep it cases disruption in hormones responsible for appetite and you find yourself hungrier.
.
👉 So... getting good sleep is all in your control which is exactly why we've put together this handy guide with suggested times to help you get the sleep you need and deserve!

📱 The big one for us is getting rid of your devices. Ideally stick your phone on charge away from your bedroom and invest in a traditional alarm clock. The phone just has too much potential to eat away at too much of your potential sleep time. The light from the devices also disrupts melatonin production which is vital for good sleep.

  • 🚿 Are you a hot or cold shower kind of person?

😯 Before you freak and think "Cold shower?! No way!" there's some positive health benefits for both.

🔥 Warm showers are great at the end of a day or workout to relax muscles, reduce stress, anxiety and swelling. Hot showers also open pores and decrease nasal congestion.

❄ So what about cold showers? (Are you shivering at the thought of it?!)

😅 Have you ever tried a cold shower first thing in the morning when you feel tired and groggy? Well that's gonna wake you up pretty sharpish!

It also increases blood flow and is good for boosting the immune system.

💪 There's also scientific studies that show depression boosting properties of cold showers. Plus if you've had a heavy session on the weights or running, the cold helps muscle recovery.

💁‍♀ Bonus one for all you with long hair... if you rinse your hair with cold water it is said to improve the shine and lustre of your locks.
