  • A visit to this beautiful estate: Squire’s Castle in North Chagrin Reservation. So fun exploring and adventuring around the woods and playing hide and go seek inside the castle. We had it all to ourselves, lucky us! I loved the massive front lawn and watching the boys somersault down it. We also had fun getting creeped out by the Urban Legend that claims Squires wife haunts the castle at night—you can see a red lantern glowing through out the castle hallways. The craziest thing was we found a melted candle inside the castle while playing hide and seek. 😬
The Castle was built in the 1890s by Cleveland oil pioneer and Standard Oil executive Feargus B. Squire. He was born near Exeter, England and came to America at age 10. Squire was an American success story. He started out as an office boy for an oil company and later built and operated his own refinery. By 1885, he had joined Standard Oil of Ohio as a co-manager with Frank Rockefeller, the brother of John D. Rockefeller. Among Squire’s accomplishments was the construction of the first tank wagon for the overland shipment of oil. Despite skepticism over the feasibility and reliability of the tank car, Squire’s tank car paved the way for the successful transportation of oil. After his retirement from Standard Oil in 1909, Squire seldom visited the Castle. In 1922, he sold the property and his family moved to a new mansion, Cobblestone Garth, on Wickliffe’s Millionaire’s Row.

  • golden hour glow ✨

I spent last week in the breathtaking Lake Como with one of my best friends... and again, Italy lived up to it’s reputation!

Italy is my most travelled country, and I have zero regrets about that 😂 The lake was so unbelievably cold, but helped to soothe the 1000 mosquito bites on my legs. I’m currently making a story and blog post about this trip so will share soon!

Also thank you so much for all the kind, lovely, beautiful messages on my engagement! 💖☺️
