  • A little shoutout to these wonderful parents of mine! Today marks 1 month since having my first hip surgery and I couldn’t be more thankful for all their love and care they have given me. Although it hasn’t been easy and there have been many difficult moments, they have been so patient and encouraging throughout it all! This week I have been practicing giving myself “unconditional permission to eat.” ✨ Crazy, I know! It’s like, when I’m hungry, I eat, and when I’m not hungry, I don’t! What in the world?! But say those words to yourself and you’ll feel a sense of peace 🍃

Something that I have learned over the past few days is when you release yourself from the pressure to stick to certain macros or a certain diet, your body celebrates 🥳 When you stop restricting, your body realizes, “Oh wait, there’s food all the time. I don’t need to binge for survival!” Just like you have to build trust in relationships with people, you have to build trust between your mind and your body...

Once that trust has been formed, your body will say, “Okay, now I’ll listen to you, now we don’t have to overeat because I believe you when you say you’re going to feed me when I’m hungry.” The little love notes you leave on your significant others mirrors? Yeah, you should write some of those for yourself, too. 💌

Giving myself permission to fuel my body when it asks for an extra snack or a bigger dinner has been empowering! I know I don’t completely understand it’s love language, but little things like this have helped me reciprocate the love my body shows me everyday and that is very special 🌻

It's no secret there is a negative stigma on mental health, there's also a negative stigma on being hospitalized for your mental health. Society has played out being hospitalized for your mental health to be a terrible thing while being in the hospital for a physical illness is normal. Society immediately labels you as crazy & an outcast if you’re hospitalized for your mental health. ⁣
⁣ ⁣
I was ashamed & embarrassed for so long that I was hospitalized because I knew there is that negative stigma behind it. I kept it a secret from family & friends because I didn't want people to label me as "crazy" or treat me differently. ⁣ ⁣
I'm here to tell you that it is NOTHING to ever be ashamed or embarrassed about it. It's important to reach out & get that help you need. ⁣ ⁣
I was in the hospital 4 years ago because I was at an extremely low point in my depression. I was struggling on a daily basis to fight the negative thoughts & find that will to live. I knew I was a danger to myself & took that action to get help.⁣ ⁣
I had no idea what the experience was going to be like because before I was hospitalized I was guilty of judging & thought negatively about it. Having stayed 3 days there changed my entire perception on the psych ward. ⁣ ⁣
Yes there will always be others who have more severe mental illnesses than others, but that still doesn't give you any right to judge them. I got to know some of the women in there and they all were doing their best to survive. Some of them were rape victims, domestic abuse victims, have been on & off meds, and they all just wanted help. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣
At the end of the day we all are doing our best to survive & live a healthy happy life. It's perfectly okay to reach out for help & get that help you need. It helped save my life because I'm not sure if I would be here today. It's why we need to break this stigma and speak up about it so others will have that courage to seek out the help they are longing for & need. ⁣ ⁣

  • Just had this amazing burrito from ‘Zambrero’ 😍 They have a vegan option for almost everything on the menu and every time you purchase a meal, they give a meal to someone in need!! —-

Talon and I actually went out and did things today! We went to Trader Joe’s and Petsmart and then found this new place to eat!! I was so happy I liked what I got and also that I was helping someone in need. That helped me eat it for some reason?! I felt less guilty hahaha My eating disorder is being so strange right now 😂 —-

I think we are off to hang at our friends house tonight. I’m pretty tired tho, I can’t wait to be in bed haha! —-

  • Found this old photo of some food... I’m having a lot of troubles staying positive and staying on the right path through my recovery at the time.. And know I have to keep fighting and not lose hope, but it’s so tempting just to give into the disordered thoughts and not upset them anymore than they are atm... Guess I just have to listen to Dory and just keep swimming.... Though I can’t cause I messed up my shoulder during a swim 🤦🏼‍♀️

  • Isn't it amazing what healthy nutrition, sobriety, and a consistent exercise regimen can do for your body? .
You can literally see the puffiness in my face back when my diet was total shit, I was always drunk, and I smoked like a freight train. And this was also when I used to think flipping off the camera and pretending I was Miley Cyrus was cool 🤦‍♀️

I didn't get where I'm at now without a fight though. It's taken me years of consistent and HARD mental, physical, and spiritual work. But it's all been SO worth it. My goal every day is to show up, kick ass, do the best that I can, and repeat. If I slip up on my diet or skip my workout, I don't beat myself up. Tomorrow is always a new day to get back on track. .
It's my sole purpose to lead by example and hopefully inspire those of you who follow my journey. If you want to start a healthier journey of your own, come join me and other badass babes in my upcoming bootcamp starting May 13th! These online groups have held me accountable every single day, and I'm now stronger, healthier, and wiser than I was before! 🌺 There's no going back for this girl 💪

Holiday season is finally on⚡️⚡️⚡️
1st pic's showing my dinner, a baasic sandwich, cucumber, radish and a latte macchiato (had dinner earlier cause I had therapy at 6pm✌🏼)
2nd pic's showing my afternoonsnack; soy yog, blackberry ice (#fearfood) and also a latte✌🏼✨
Dinner didn't went as well as supposed, cause I'm already nervous bout weighing tomorrow morning🙃
I nearly cried and maman and me had a lil arguement bout my time at clinic🙃 She thinks I'm eating not enough atm, based on the fact that of course she isn't able to see every food I intake⚡️ She doesn't really trust me cause the past months I threw away lots of food⚡️ But she also said she knows how hard I fight atm, so at the end everything went well🤞🏼 Adding upt to this: we bought some fresubin and high caloric bars, in case I'm not able to eat🙃 At therapy we talked about my stuggles and my battle and it was such a blessing🤞🏼 I love my therapist so much✨ We talked bout my upcoming family vacay and easter lunch cause I'm bit scared atm bout them🙃 She gave me advices  and convinced me to talk to my parents bout those feares🤞🏼 Maybe I'm gonna do this later✌🏼 rn my maman & I are on pur way to a DIY store cause we need a few things for our barbecue tomorrow🕊

Maybe it’s the end of semester rush that’s got me all stressed? Maybe that’s why I closed off? Who knows. The most important thing is I caught myself doing it and now I can fix it. That’s what’s important. 😊️

I’m going to put some oils over my heart and the back of my neck to help me through this mini transition back to my normal self. I’ll prolly diffuse some later tonight too. I’ve gotta get back into the game! 😂
