  • It's that time of year (new year new you new gym membership?) And oooo mama are you feeling the pressure!? While I was pregnant my midwife (all hail @baysidebirthcenter ) gave me some advice that was the kind of obvious advice that none of us should need but most of us probably do: being active should energize you, if it leaves you feeling drained it means your body isn't ready for that activity. It's that simple. "Working out", whatever that may look like for you, should feel good, if it doesn't than it isn't working. Feeling challenged and feeling depleted are two different things and I think we can all judge for ourselves which one we may be experiencing personally. Please be gracious with yourself, please give yourself the time YOU need (not the time some instagrammer or even a real life friend needs). When you ARE feeling ready to get moving it is an awesome idea to work with professionals who are trained in guiding you through activities that support your needs post partum! HIT classes, boot camps, trainers, instructors, etc who are not proficient or focused on post partum restoration may not be your greatest support at this time. I am always happy to help by meeting you right where you are physically and energetically and building from that place, as are so many professionals in this field. It is hard to take it slow sometimes. I know. It is hard to not feel confident physically, but bullying your body into something it isn't ready for will likely not lead to that confidence you crave. There is support available if you need it, and there is grace available if you simply need more time. Take care mamas❤. #realisticpostpartum #realisticpostpartumexpectations #postpartumjourney #postpartumfitness #postpartumwellness #gentlepostpartum #bekindtoyourself

  • Don't make you believe that I am lucky to have a balanced meal like this everytime. And have a lot of energy to workout...
My plan was to get back in shape at least 3 months postpartum. That's what you see on social media it is the "normal" to do so. So when I realized this is not the case with my postpartum body, I was devastated. We are far away from family so we are without any help to have some extra time to go to the gym or anyone to take care of my son for a few hours to have my metime. Postpartum complications also not on my side. It's hard for me bodywise to accept that I can't form my body fast enough how I would love to. There's days where I am sad about it I am not going to lie. That's the true. Some people are not so lucky and shrink back straight away without any exercise. I guess I am one of them. Theres many factors you missing out of for a lucky weight loss. Lack of time/ energy/sleep/nutritions... not easy with your new bundle of joy to balance between all these. No one ever told me that your body can hold onto weight if your hormones are not balanced. Now I experienced this. Now I had to give time for my body and take care of it while I need to be patient. That's extremely hard for me and something I suffer with. BUT I trust myself and I WILL do it. Because I want to do it. I want to feel myself again and I want to get my self-esteem back. My new realistic goal is to achieve this by my boy will be one years old. Somewhere I read you should give the same amount of time for your body how long your pregnancy were. I need to change not just my body but my mentality too. Project comeback 2020 I am ready for you.🐷 🔜🤞 Any mommas out there who felt the same? Struggled to get back in shape ? Is there anything that helped you?😘

  • I’ve been thinking all day about what to post with this video. I mean holy shit am I right ?!
.
I don’t even recognize the girl on the left anymore. She was exhausted and overwhelmed. She just became a mom of two. She had a 2 year old and a brand new baby needing her, a house to take care of, a husband to spend time with, breastfeeding, putting meals on the table, dealing with an autoimmune disorder, and trying to add in taking care of herself on top of all that. Busy? To say the least. .
She knew she didn’t want to stay exhausted and overwhelmed and she wanted to make a change for the better.
.
After my first baby I waited for the “right time” guess what... it never came! I waited 6 months to start. This time I didn’t want to wait. With #hashimotosthyroiditis it is a lot harder to lose weight so knew I needed to start as soon as I could. I’ve been showing up every single day since I’ve been cleared by the doctor (as you see in my stories). I feel strong and confident and I know if I continue on this journey I will get to my goal.
.
The question is... will you join me? I’d love to have you in my virtual wellness studio. Results like this are guaranteed as long as you’re willing to put in the work. Let’s chat babe.

  • POSTPARTUM TIP # 3// And those goes for ALL my girls really ... Give yourself permission to feel good in your skin 💛 Give yourself consent to do things that help foster that feeling 💛 Recognize you aren’t selfish for taking care of YOU. 💛
I definitely don’t snap photos like these every once in awhile because I’m obsessed with every part of my body , or think I’m perfect (uh far from it and no one is!😍) But I finally allow myself some moments that in the past I wouldn’t. Years ago I would mentally put myself down for everything I wasn’t ... These days I make a CHOICE to celebrate what my body can do , and just embrace it. I workout , I eat mostly healthy , and I also live my life 🍷🍕🍦 this was #8monthspostpartum with my 2nd baby, and two C -sections and I’m proud of my progress even when I feel I have a long way to go✨✨✨

  • POSTPARTUM | What a loaded word right?
I’m 10 months post, and my little baby girl has officially been outside the world the same length of time she spent growing inside my body - cue the tears 😭 .
I always hesitate posting the stereotypical postpartum photos because every Mama’s journey is different ❣️❣️❣️ But HOW to navigate fitness, and health as a Mom/postpartum has been a question that keeps popping up in my DMs. So over the next few weeks I’m sharing my tips for feeling your best and exercising safely and effectively post baby. 👋🏼
And NO it’s not going to spin class the month you deliver , or subsisting on some crazy diet 🤨
.
Stay tuned 👶🏼 PS - my account got hacked so I had to repost. If you liked or commented previously please throw a bone and do so again 😘😘😘

  • POSTPARTUM Tip # 2 // Slow and Steady baby ☝🏼 Don’t head straight for the toughest bootcamp in town. Just MOVE. 🤸🏼‍♀️
Doing too much too quickly can be a recipe for disaster (injury or diastisis ab separation - which I’ll touch more on soon). Whether you start working out immediately after your OB clears you or you wait months or years manage those expectations ❣️
Start with stroller walks with baby, when you aren’t exhausted do an at-home workout while your baby naps, seek out help from your partner or sitters so you can prioritize YOU and get something , anything in. 🙌🏼
Forget the physical aspect for a second - your Mom mind needs the mental break and endorphins 😚
