  • To Do: Fake it ‘til ya make it.⠀
⠀
The truth is most people don’t always know what they’re doing even when it seems that way. Julie Zhuo became a manager at 25 years old with no idea on how to manage people. Somehow she came out of it successfully with some fresh insights :) ⠀

  • Fellow geeks - do you have "dev-task tickets" that you create and tackle in your personal life?
.
The concept of having product roadmap, sprints and tickets is to provide the company a predictable outlook of what a product looks like in the future.
.
Now, see those "tickets" as the items on your roadmap that craft a dream that you have and the "company" as your life.
.
When you have tickets, sprints and a roadmap in your life, imagine how much more you will achieve, and how much more predictable your future is.
.
What tickets would you have on your current sprint?
.
Comment below and let me know.

⠀

  • What is the most simplified way to explain your product?⁣
⁣
Think about this answer and include that explanation in your actual product description when marketing it! #simplified

  • Haha, something here rings true... “Product management also combines elements of lots of other specialties - engineering, design, marketing, sales, business development. Product management is a weird discipline full of oddballs and rejects that never quite fit in anywhere else. For my part, I loved the technical challenges of engineering but despised the coding. I liked solving problems, but I hated having other people tell me what to do. I wanted to be a part of the strategic decisions, I wanted to own the product. Marketing appealed to my creativity, but I knew I’d dislike being too far away from the technology. Engineers respected me, but knew my heart was elsewhere and generally thought I was too “marketing-ish.” People like me naturally gravitate to product management.” ~ Ken Norton

  • You know what lights up my professional world? Bringing brands together. It's called a collaboration. That's when you get your brand together with another brand to co-produce a product that brings your collective genius together into a totally new form.
✨
The purpose could be to cross-promote to each others' audiences, take a trial-run into a new brand extension, or raise money for charity. Whatever the reason, your audience does a double-take because they say, "Wait a minute... That's GENIUS!" And if they love BOTH brands? They simply HAVE TO buy your co-branded-love-child.
✨
Where could your brand dream up a little imaginative collaborative? Email in bio to connect.

  • I usually get this twinkle in my eye when I work with brands who give back. There are so many ways today to make a real difference, and your customers (women, especially) will love you all the more for it!
✨
The profitability of purpose is easily demonstrable: Warby Parker, n:Philanthropy, Tommy Hilfiger, Patagonia, Amour Vert, the list goes on... And getting started is super simple.
✨
You can donate a portion of the proceeds of a single product, or a special collection you designate, to charity. Or you can develop a special capsule collection of products that are dedicated to donating a portion of their profits. Or you can donate a percentage of the overall company's profits.... say, like what Patagonia did....donating their entire $10 Million tax cut to fight climate change. (Of course, not all contributions have to be on such a grand scale. In the eyes of your customer, every dollar counts!)
✨
If you need some help finding the right non-profit to collab with, I can work out the details and plan the product launch. From product design to sourcing to branding to shelf, I take you all the way from A to Z. Ready to get started? Shoot me an email! (Link in bio)

  • 🙋🏻 Does anyone remember a cotton canvas fabric "Panama"? I used to love working with that fabric back in the day. That was the beginning of the brand @Panama Trimmings who make these adorable little labels, made out of recycled poly- created from post-consumer plastic bottles. In fact, they're also made using eco-friendly dyes to save water and energy, completing the process.
✨
Eat Love Recycle (a play on Eat Pray Love) is a great way to help the planet. It just makes me feel good knowing I'm doing my part to design & create things in a way that helps make our little blue planet a tiny bit better... I especially love it when brands work to keep our oceans clean and our climate status quo; brands like Everlane, Patagonia, Adidas, and Stella McCartney, to name a few.
✨
I don't know if a little label can stop a tsunami but, like any cause, every little bit helps. If your brand is inspired to make a tiny little dent in the universe of do-good, consider me your co-pilot. With more than 20 years of apparel and accessory design and branding experience. Let's create something together! (Link in bio to introduce yourself!)
