PS, that adulting thing is my taxes... Yes, I am JUST doing them now. 😬 You can't tell me I'm the only procrastinator... Am I? 🙃

  • My hair is a mess, because... euphoria! For two weeks I let seven ungraded undergraduate essays hang over my head. Today, they are marked and inputted into the online system. In addition, the last three weeks (12 hours) of lesson plans for term are completed and ready. 😍 Ahh, why do I ever procrastinate in the first place?! •
Meanwhile, little Luna love acted as an excellent companion in the marking and planning processes today. 🐶

  • This week on #TipThursday we sat down with Dr. Jasjit Sangha, Learning Strategist at the Academic Success Centre, to talk about the all-important topic of #procrastination 📚🗓📝

“Procrastination is a huge issue. I sometimes work with students to do an hour-by-hour weekly schedule, and when they truly examine how much time they need to study for each course and fill it into a calendar, we often find that the time is there, but it wasn’t effectively used.”
.
“Ask yourself, why are you procrastinating, and what’s one thing you can do differently? If you’re procrastinating because of exhaustion, can you put in more hours for rest? Even during exam season, it’s important to reflect on what you’re doing for self-care.”
.
“Students decide they must sacrifice everything to succeed. They give up exercising, friendships, and any sense of leisure or creative hobbies. They also constantly engage in self-judgement whenever they’re not studying. As a result, they never feel a full break.”

“Your mind and body resist overexertion. You can push yourself to a certain point, but once you pass that threshold, you’ll experience backlash. You can sit there staring at the same thing for hours, but the information will not get processed efficiently.”
.
“ I would suggest allocating as much focus, importance, and attention to self-care as you would to studying. If you feel exhausted, plan in scheduled breaks. Ask, ‘what can I do to bring myself energy,’ and ‘can I make a genuine effort to plan that into my schedule?’ Allow yourself some sense of balance and enjoyment; plan ahead and plan realistically.”

  • The need for perfection. Ahhh yes. The reason I don’t even get started some days. If I can’t do it perfectly, why bother right? WRONG!! ✨

Perfection paralysis. It’s a real thing. At least for me. I have so many ideas, so many things I want to do. These thoughts enter my brain and I envision them so perfectly, yet never get started on them because I have to wait until it can be executed perfectly. I can’t even begin to count how often this means I stop dead in my tracks and instead of moving forward I’m just stuck. ✨

Success doesn’t come from perfection. It comes from doing. I’m slowly learning to give myself permission to try - whether I’m completely prepared or not. Striving for pure perfection is only a recipe for me to fail. I’m learning to celebrate the perfectly imperfect. The doing. The learning. The try again. ✨

What are you procrastinating on right now? It’s already Thursday! Grab your coffee - give yourself a pep talk - and get to it! Let’s do this together. Repeat after me — it’s time to be perfectly imperfect — take a step forward by just doing it and see where it takes you. ✨

  • "Deus ajuda quem cedo madruga", já dizia o ditado. Mas o fato é que esse ditado faz muito sentido. 👌🏻

⏰Há algum tempo comecei acordar às 4h da manhã para estudar. Pra quem não sabe, sou casado, trabalho em uma empresa fichado e sou designer autônomo. Minha rotina de trabalho é muito puxada e ainda tenho um casamento para administrar, ou seja, não tenho muito tempo para fazer os meus Jobs e estudar. Qual a maneira que encontrei?! Acordar mais cedo! Comecei a fazer isso é s resultados podem ser notados nos meus trabalhos e na satisfação dos clientes.⤵️

Não estou dizendo que você precisa acordar às 4 horas da manhã como eu, mas precisa fazer alguma coisa. Acorde pelo menos uma hora mais cedo e se dedique aos estudos ou a alguma coisa que vá agregar algum valor à sua vida como uma atividade física por exemplo.🏋️

Não perca tempo no Facebook, YouTube ou Instagram com conteúdos banais. Ao invés disso, siga aquele canal que você vai aprender algo. Leia bastante, pergunte e também ensine, com certeza sua vida terá um outro sentido.📖

  • Ces femmes qui ont TOUT donné (jusqu'à la dernière miette) 👇🏻

Hier, sur les réseaux sociaux, j'ai partagé une citation disant "prends ta place, car personne ne viendra te la donner".
. 
Et plus j'y pense, plus je me dis que c'est incroyablement vrai.
. 
Beaucoup de femmes font passer tout le monde avant elle : leur famille, leurs amis, et même parfois de simples connaissances...
. 
C'est devenu une habitude.
. 
Et à force, elles sont rentrées dans un cercle vicieux infernal : elles sont connues pour être celles qui donnent sans compter.
. 
Elles n'osent plus dire non car elles ont peur de la réaction des autres.
. 
Elles ne veulent pas qu'on pense d'elles qu'elles sont égoïstes et qu'elles ne pensent qu'à elles.
. 
Qu'elle ne pensent qu'à... quoi ? Elles.
. 
Car oui, si on creuse un peu la situation, ce sont des femmes qui sont épuisées mentalement.
. 
Elles se sont oubliées.
. 
Elles ont tout fait passer avant elles.
. 
Résultats ? Quand elles se retrouvent seules, elles ne savent pas quoi faire.
. 
Elles se rendent compte qu'elles ne se connaissent pas vraiment.
. 
Elles n'ont pas d'objectifs.
. 
Non pas qu'elles n'aimeraient pas en avoir ! Mais pour le peu qu'elles ont essayés, elles n'arrivent jamais à tenir jusqu'au bout.
. 
Alors elles sombrent dans la frustration et la colère.
. 
L'ambiance est électrique à la maison.
. 
Et pourtant, chaque soir, elles culpabilisent...
. 
Elles se disent que si elles arrivaient à reprendre le contrôle, alors l'ambiance à la maison et leur relation avec les autres ne serait plus la même.
. 
Alors elles se le promettent : demain, elles seront enfin déterminées.
. 
Elles reprendront le contrôle sur leur quotidien et sur elles-mêmes.
. 
Elles seront enfin organisées et elles prendront du temps pour elles.
. 
Elles iront jusqu'au bout de leurs objectifs et chaque jour sera un bonus pour avancer et évoluer encore plus...
. 
Sauf que, le lendemain, il ne se passera rien.
. 
La fatigue reprendra le dessus. Et la même routine se mettra en place...
. 
Et si je te disais qu'il y a une solution pour ces femmes ?
. 
La solution ? Un plan simple mais efficace.

  • Once again I apologise for the absence of art. There’s so many things I’m trying to do at the same time, but we all know - that kind of approach doesn’t get you anywhere and is least productive. Procrastination is my biggest enemy. ☹️🍂
