NORI IS BAE ๐Ÿฅฐ We eat the shit out of some seaweed at our house. My kids eat the sheets as snacks. Of course you do. Then read on ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ seaweed is full of IODINE which is fuel for your thyroid aka your ENTIRE METABOLISM. Unless you eat fish regularly, or use iodized salt, your diet is probably low in iodine. Many people are restricting their salt intake these days, or have eliminated iodized salt in favor of that pretty pink Himalayan salt - in which case itโ€™s really easy to become iodine deficient. Without sufficient iodine, your thyroid will slow down, meaning itโ€™s harder for your body to burn fat. ๐Ÿ”ฅ This can lead to fatigue and weight gain. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ So eat some seaweed, eat some fish, pick up some iodized salt if you donโ€™t plan to do either of those things.   • I honestly gave up caring what people think. We are a different breed and I love it. Getting up at 4am to hit the gym, crushing it for 2-3 hours a day EVERYDAY, skipping desserts and unhealthy foods when everyone else is indulging, spending hours every week meal prepping,  and living a very structured life for months at a time. People donโ€™t realize we competitors we go through weight fluctuations that can mess with your head. From my lowest weight to 138 to my current 150, itโ€™s crazy the changes your body goes through. To think that youโ€™re not lean enough when youโ€™re dieting down for a show, to looking back at those same photos and wishing you could be that lean again.

This is NOT me saying, I hate my current physique, I think Iโ€™m fat, or that this is how I view my self worth. You naturally put on weight in the off season and get back to your normal life. All Iโ€™m saying is that you can love yourself in both photos.

Trust me, I know how easy it is to get stuck.  Maybe itโ€™s a bad situation, addiction, self harm, eating disorders, abusive relationship whatever the case may be.  Itโ€™s easy to feel paralyzed by your circumstances and conditions.  But know that by not changing anything, youโ€™re accepting your current situation.  Wether you want to or not.  And you deserve better. .
I know how hard it can be. (Been through a few of those hardships.) You feel like there is no way out and you feel like your going to be stuck like this forever.  This is FALSE.  No matter the case, you have more control than you think. .
You have the power to get yourself un-stuck.  It might not be easy, and it might be painful, but it will most definitely be more than worth it. .
If your feeling stuck or struggling with something in your life, please know you CAN change it.  You donโ€™t have to be stuck in the same old situation, you donโ€™t belong there.  You can find better, do better, be better.  Make sure to reach out to someone if needed, because a little support can go a long way.โค๏ธ

  • ๐ŸšจNot ideal to post a non-shredded pic BUT I want to set a good example and show my current physique (taken yesterday for check-ins) vs. a photo from my last competition prep. Instagram is full of bull๐Ÿคฌ sometimes so I want to do my best to be ๐Ÿ’ฏ REAL. Letโ€™s talk about in-season vs. off-season. I preach it all the time, but ITโ€™S A LIFESTYLE. Yes, you will gain weight in improvement seasonโ€ฆitโ€™s inevitable because being less than 10% body fat year round is not healthy. However, I make it a priority to continue my routine year-round to stay successful when it becomes time to โ€œprepโ€ again. You know what is so amazing? I could literally start prep tomorrow and none of my daily habits would need to change or be adjusted. It would not be a shock to my body because itโ€™s my NORM. Sometimes people will say things like โ€œlive a little,โ€ or โ€œjust enjoy being flexible right nowโ€ฆโ€ Well the truth isโ€ฆ I AM enjoying life. I will enjoy a refeed every 7-10 days or so, having something different than my planned-out meals or having a bite of my favorite chocolate (still tracking my macros on that day and planning my carb intake post-workout to be smart about it though!). I donโ€™t need to go out to eat or drink to have fun. I can still go out and enjoy the COMPANY of friends and the environment without over-indulging. Food and alcohol does NOT need to always be the center of bringing people together โ€“ good conversation, quality time, spending time with people with like interests and similar ambitions are what make me happy. If you have goals, be smart about your decisions and donโ€™t let anyone hold you back!
