  • Followed a random chicken recipe from @bbcgoodfood that had kiev butter and paprika salt rub in it. Made the herbed butter yesterday, and it was really good. The chicken turned out a bit like Max's fried chicken, but better. 😂 I then made the chips following Chef Heston Blumenthal's method. Lemme tell you: that painstaking process of soaking, boiling, chilling, frying, freezing, and frying the chips again was darn all worth it! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, tasting like they came out of a really good fish and chips place. However (warning: nerdy talk!), the lengthy process of frying the chips twice only offset the acrylamide, a potential carcinogen, levels lost during the soaking stage, which meant the chips aren't any different from the non-soaked version in terms of the healthiness factor. 😆 But YOLO. 😛 I used light olive oil for frying these, taking care not to let it smoke too much, and they still came out perfect. 👌👌👌 #chips #roast #roastchicken #roasties #dinner #foodporn #foodphotography #britishfood #british #yummy #delish #homecooking #homemade #homecook #pinaycook #pinoycook

  • I always prefer homecooked to instant. You get to decide what and how much ingredients to put into the dish. Plus, no preservatives (which makes my allergies flare up 😬). What I put in my Pancit Canton {Filipino version of Chow Mein} ... Pork tenderloin, Tenga nag Daga {Black Fungus}, Cabbage, Baby Bokchoi, Snow Peas and Spinach. 😋

In celebration, this week's #meal is #chicken and #marrowbone #mechado. First time mixing chicken and bone #marrow in the #crockpot and it came out really well. Sooo #flavorful. 👌🏼
❗️Correction: I just learned that if you use chicken, it becomes #afritada. 😂 It's mechado if you use beef. But since I added marrow bone which was my own thing, I call this marrow afritada. 🤦🏻‍♀️IDK. Let's eat! #kainna
