Para que serve a Coluna Vertebral?
》Sustentação do corpo, e não do mundo todo, ok?! 🤐

Além disso, é um eixo parcialmente rígido de apoio à cabeça, auxilia na locomoção e na manutenção da postura. Serve de fixação para as costelas, cintura pélvica e músculos o dorso. Protege a medula espinhal e os nervos espinhais.
.
Projetada para realizar movimentos, ela realiza rotação, flexão, extensão e lateralização. Do contrário do que muitos pensam, ela não é tão frágil quanto parece. Possui 7 vértebras cervicais, 12 torácicas, 5 lombares, 1 sacro (5 vértebras fundidas em 1) e 1 cóccix (4 coccígeas fundidas em 1).

Possui curvaturas fisiológicas, o que permite o corpo manter-se em equilíbrio.

  • Pulling out some side arm archival Joseph Pilates moves shared by the incredible @nic_maz *cannot get enough of that transition from backhand into the sidebend 🙏🙏🙏
Of course we had to add a bit of our own flavour at the end...@jade.pilates and @belinda.pilates Are on ½ spring for this flow 💙

  • - Scooter Curtsy variation - Such a great way to mix up the traditional much loved scooter, and ignite the 🍑 in a different way! How to: Stand on the inside foot with the foot and knee turned out at a diagonal (as if you were going to do a curtsy), outside foot will go on the carriage against the bolster. For an extra balance challenge, lift the toes off the Reformer so the foot is not on the carriage, only resting against the bolster. To progress from the scooter, Steph adds in a half lunge. Try not to stand all the way up out of your lunge, only coming up about half way to really get the glutes firing. Finish off with lunge pulses and those glutes will be toasty warm! We are using 1.5 springs 🤸🏼‍♀️
