  • Sunday’s during the winter are literally 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 to be filled with the aroma of meat that is slowly roasted in the oven. ⁣

I give you, roasted chicken. 🍴 🐓 ⁣
⁣
I filled it with lemon and lemon thyme (because thyme is synonymous with life), and we shared the oven space with some brah-koh-lee that got all nice and crispy. ⁣
⁣
Also - have you ever tried making fried rice without it being Asian inspired?? It’s genius. It adds so much flavor and texture to the rice. All you need is some cold rice, a wok, oil/butter, and some seasoning salt. ⁣
⁣
I should write a book called “All the ways rice should be eaten.”⁣
⁣
And also - I wish that I had taken the time to get a better picture of that bird before we cut into. But. You just get an awkward booty pic. #sorrynotsorry⁣

  • Feelin a little granola today so let’s talk trail mix😜⁣

Trail mix is a great snack because it’s simple to make, requires no cooking, and is cheap and portable. ⁣
⁣
AAAAND trail mix is packed with healthy fats, fiber and proteinnnn that’ll keep you full! ⁣
⁣
So I basically make mine but just going to the bulk bins at the grocery store and getting a bunch of random things and throwing them together😂
⁣
You can make yours with whatever ingredients you’d like, but I found this one provides a great balance of sweet, salty, and a little heat. ⁣
⁣
It makes about 12-15 servings, and provides 10 g of fat, 14 g of carbs, 8 g protein, and 5 g of fiber per serving. 
Impressive right? ⁣Here’s the recipe⬇️⁣
⁣
- 1/2 cup walnuts⁣
- 1/4 cup chili lime cashews⁣
- 3/4 cup plain almonds⁣
- 3/4 cup dried currants (raisins works too but these are smaller)⁣
- 3/4 cup dried diced pineapple⁣
- 1/2 cup pepitas⁣
- 1 cup dry roasted edamame ⁣
⁣
Mix all together boom you got yourself a protein, fiber-packed snack🤩 What are you gonna put in your trail mix?

  • Get a pot of beans simmering while you do whatever you have to do at home—cleaning, bills, tidying up. Beans require minimal effort and the outcome is 💥 These @rancho_gordo pinto ones are a gem (so creamy). Inspired by @david_tanis and simmered with onion, garlic, bay leaf, paprika, and pinch of chipotle. Top with cotija and find yourself the lime wedge I didn’t have. Don’t forget to soak the night before!
