Skin exposure to sunlight is how vitamin D is synthesized (absorbed). It is found is some foods (fish, eggs, milk) but at a very low dose. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝐎𝐜𝐭-𝐌𝐚𝐫) 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝟑 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 (above latitude 55^N)(J Clin Endocrinol Megan (1988)) also for people in other cold climates (Noth America, Northern Europe, Ireland) you may have sub optimal levels of vitamin D so supplementation is needed. 
Vitamin D is essential for well-being, immune health, increased cognition, bone health - calcium absorption, mildly increases testosterone in men, cardiovascular health.

  • Who needs some hydration tips? 💦💦💦⁣

For some reason my water habit is always creeping its head up and being difficult. I can get into the rhythm, but then any change in routine throws me off course 🤯 I end-up constantly re-evaluating my day to see where I can get down my water with the most ease. I have a feeling I might be one of the top hydration hackers out there at this point, so here’s a few tips from me to you:⁣
⁣
1.	Drink a big ol’ glass first thing. As in a pint, before you pour that first cup of ☕️. Keep a glass right next to the coffee pot and you won’t forget in your morning bleariness.⁣
2.	Grab a jug that can hold your total ounces for the day, and pour from there into whatever more reasonably sized container you’re rockin. It’ll be an ice-cold refresher and you’ll never lose track of how much you have left to drink.⁣
3.	My newest addition to the line-up is chugging an entire bottle right when I finish my workout 😅 I can’t drink during or I get some serious cramping, but I know I’m losing a ton through my sweat (and I’m a sweater fam). ⁣
Bonus: Represent with a cute AF water bottle. 🐱 mom all the way.⁣

-1/2 cup rolled oats cooked on the stove according to package directions in 1 cup water — then added 1 tbsp chia seeds & 1 scoop @nuzest_usa vanilla clean lean protein (code KPINGITSIMPLE) + 1/4 cup egg whites — whisked til fluffy. Then I added 2 tbsp pumpkin purée and a ton of pumpkin pie spice.
Topped with banana slices, raisins, maple syrup, @georgiagrinders maple caramel almond butter, & walnuts

  • There was a time in my life where I would have weighed the granola on this toast sammie and thrown a tiny nugget back into the bag if it was over the serving size.

There was a time where I would have only eaten powdered peanut butter because it had less calories, depriving myself of the real, creamy nut butters (that actually have LESS sugar & ingredients than the powder).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There was a 2 year period in my life where I rarely ate BANANAS, despite them being my favorite fruit and a great source of potassium (and, HELLO, a god damn FRUIT) because of the stereotype that bananas have a lot of sugar and are the less healthy than things like berries and apples.

There was a time in my life where I was genuinely scared of food. And being on the other side of that, I can tell you – it was no way to live.

Fuel your body with foods that make you feel good – for me its pasta, bananas, greens, pretzels, cheese, seafood, broccoli. Don’t forget to also eat foods you love that may fall outside of the ‘healthy’ stereotype – some of mine include prosciutto, cheez its, wings with ranch, ice cream – because at the end of the day, food is food.

There is absolutely nothing that makes a deprived life, a happy life. Find your balance. You can’t live a full life on an empty stomach.

Alrighty, folks. Let's talk about hunger!⁣

Hunger is going to be present when you are trying to lose weight. It's just going to happen. It comes in waves. Sometimes you will be feelin' good and won't be hungry. Sometimes, you will feel hungry enough to eat a thanksgiving turkey and bowl of mashed potatoes.⁣

Especially if you are a beginner and you are not used to restricting calories!⁣
⁣
That's why I compiled a list of foods that help curb your hunger and will help keep you full during your weight loss journey.⁣
⁣
Now, I want to say this: Some of these foods on here might not curb your hunger. This isn't the end all be all list of foods that will 100% curb your hunger.⁣
⁣
If these foods do not help curb your hunger, that's okay. Some other foods will! Hunger is not 100% set in stone for every human being. We all have different ways to deal with it!⁣

These are foods that I find very helpful and very satisfying when it comes to curbing hunger.⁣

My personal favorites are below ---⁣
⁣
Greek Yogurt - Super high in protein, low in calories. Especially if you opt for the plain, non-fat version! You can throw in some berries in there and make a tasty and high protein dessert.⁣

Watermelon - Watermelon is great because it is super low in calories and super tasty and refreshing. Watermelon contains roughly 30 calories per 100 grams, so you can really stock up on it!⁣
⁣
Sparkling water / seltzer - Regular water is great too, but the bubbly sensation from seltzers and sparkling waters are just really satisfying to me and help keep me full!⁣

Black Coffee - This is a huge one for many many people. Black coffee helps supress your appetite and will help curb your hunger due to the caffeine.⁣

Pickles - 5 calories a pop. They are salty (don't be afraid of salt, your body needs it) and crunchy and tasty. They are satisfying and are super low in cals. Like, cmon' now. No brainer!⁣

When you are on a mission to lose fat, just remember that your total weekly calories are the most important factor.⁣
