Made these stuffed poblanos last night for my mom and I and they were SO good!! It’s been really fun to play around with food ideas will all the quarantine time! These also have incredible macros and would be delicious paired with chips or rice etc.!🍚

Sooooo...
Stuffed poblanos 🌶
Serves 2
Ingredients:
-3 large poblano peppers 🌶 -7 oz Trader Joe’s pollo asada 🍗
-2 servings Trader Joe’s pepper onion frozen blend 🧅
-Toppings! (My toppings/ the ones I calculated the macros with were 45g Trader Joe’s queso, 60g Trader Joe’s reduces guilt guac, 15g salsa)

Directions:
1️⃣Clear seeds out of peppers and cut lengthwise, then place on baking sheet and bake at 400 for 15-20 mins
2️⃣While peppers are cooking, grill pollo asada 
3️⃣Sauté pepper onion blend until slightly browning and cooked through
4️⃣Set oven to broil
5️⃣Stuff Poblanos with chicken and peppers  if you are topping with cheese add it now, then broil for 3-5 min
6️⃣plate and top with all the toppings!!!

  • We’d like to formerly introduce you to our newest rescue member DWIGHT! 😍
He’s about 6-7 months old and was owner surrendered to us at no fault of his own. His previous owners were not ready for the responsibilities of a puppy. He needs to be crate and potty trained as well other basic dog stuff. Also he’ll need to be fixed. 🖤
He’s a big boy! Almost as big as sully, something like 60-70 lbs at only 6 months old, a very pretty brindle color with beautiful markings and he’s a super sweet goofy boy! 
His name was originally Drogon but I have such a hard time saying it and he doesn’t really know it, so we’ve switched it to Dwight. I think it matches his personality more! 😍
So happy Tuesday and welcome DWIGHT to #somanypaws 🖤
As soon as we can get him fixed, we have to figure that out with the shelter in place order, he’ll be ready for adoption.

Things to consider when starting physical activity after a long break even new to activity. ⁣
⁣
⭐️ growth takes time > this picture is 3 years apart ⁣

⭐️ make it a habit > start with a few days a week set aside a certain time and time frame to do some type of activity. Something you enjoy. Don’t be afraid to try new things. ⁣
⁣
⭐️ listen to your body > don’t over exert yourself on the first day, chances are you will be too sore and overwhelmed. Start off slow and low weights and add more reps. ⁣
⁣
⭐️ get plenty of sleep > this one is easier said than done I know. Make a bedtime stick with it. In order to build muscle your body needs adequate sleep. Your body needs to be able to repair itself. ⁣
⁣
⭐️eat nutritious rich foods. Food is fuel for your body. You cannot expect it to operate well if you are not feeding it properly. ⁣
⁣
⭐️ set mini goals that are obtainable. > perform a certain number of air squats, walk 1 mile then slowly build up your goals. ⁣
⁣
⭐️ Your body is an amazing machine and with the right fuel, and stimulation you can achieve amazing things!!!! ⁣

I haven’t always been fit and muscular. I used to be tiny 95 lbs and very lean. My body loves to stay lean but with the proper nutrition and workouts I have been able to gain muscle mass. ⁣

Just remember we all start somewhere and I hope these will help you if you are not sure where to start.

The first time I stood on the @2brospro_events was probably the most scared I was for the whole of my 2019 season 💯
.
Competing with @ifbb_official @npcworldwideofficial was always the dream....but I felt I had bitten off more than I could chew by stepping on that stage in my first season. Focussing on the negatives and what could go wrong ended up with me putting a lot of pressure on myself. The fear consumed me and I think that showed on stage 💯
.
The first stage I compete on this year will be an NPC/IFBB one and.....I’m actually not scared this time.....this time I’m super excited to be competing with them! I’m looking forward to what could go right and am focussed on bringing the best package that I can to the 2bros stage ❤️ I can’t wait to show that off 🥳
.
The stage hasn’t changed....but my mentality this year has, because what you focus on, you give power to! & I want nothing but positivity to be in my thoughts 🙌🏽

There’s still so much to be achieved this year! Don’t write it off yet....the best is yet to come ❤️

  • The great volume debate. 
Everyone always says “ how much volume should I do to build muscle?” Which is a super valid question. But it’s extremely personal. Dependent on: 1. Recovery 2. stress outside of training 3. Age 4. Sleep. 5. Intake and etc 
When you’re in a surplus your volume can be quite high (20 sets-24 sets per week) 
When you’re cutting you may have to test it out and see what you can handle. Were you previously doing 20 but now you aren’t sleeping well, aren’t recovering, digestion is off etc.? Take it down to 15 per week and see how it goes. 
Personally while in a cut (depending on the severity) my body is not able to handle more than 15 per week. And this is the case with most competitors. So it becomes  more about maintaining and keeping the muscle you already have vs trying to build. 
Remember: muscle is best built at periods of maintenance or a slight surplus!

  • Every morning has been such a solid sweaty sesh of HIIT training followed by long brisk walks around my beautiful neighborhood— disconnecting but also plugging into things that matter to me like: education, self development, my faith..⁣

One thing I def will take back to my normal routine from my QUARAN-ROUTINE (hehe) is outdoor HIIT training and sprints for sure.⁣

It gives me such a different endorphin release than doing it in the turf at a gym. ⁣

I’ll be saving my heavy lifts for the gym and my intense cardio for outdoors because it truly makes me so happy and at peace when I’m in nature like that ❤️⁣

Day 16 of quarantine;
I miss familiar places, deep belly laughs with friends, the smell of coffee roasting accompanied by communal chatter of a coffee shop, the sounds of weights clinking together, plans to take a trip with one of my best friends, and the endless possibility of being able to go anywhere and everywhere without fear for your health and that of your loved ones.

i read somewhere earlier “the world has slowed down, so that you can rediscover yourself” I love this and it has made me realize how good this self-isolation has been for me. there will always be a way to take a dark situation and find the positives. it’s honestly amazing the amount of creativity and self-expression people are finding during this time. it’s as though we are finally forced to take the time to do the little things that bring us out of this programmed, adulting state of mind. i actually don’t remember a time where I woke up organically, rather than to a dream-crushing alarm sound.

this time has become about bettering yourself, learning new things, giving yourself the rest you need, reassessing your priorities, maybe realizing your career path isn’t for you, focusing on compassion for yourself and others facing tragedy, and for people taking it seriously, overall bringing down our societal ego back down to humanity. It has also put an emphasis on making connections and drawing similarities between people all over the world, tethering us together again as a community

yesterday wasn’t a good day, but shifting perspective from what we are losing or fearing and focusing on how this could change us as people worldwide for the better hopefully gives you a profound sense of compassion and self💛

    I miss familiar places, deep belly laughs with friends, the smell of coffee roasting accompanied by communal chatter of a coffee shop, the sounds of weights clinking together, plans to take a trip with one of my best friends, and the endless possibility of being able to go anywhere and everywhere without fear for your health and that of your loved ones.

    i read somewhere earlier “the world has slowed down, so that you can rediscover yourself” I love this and it has made me realize how good this self-isolation has been for me. there will always be a way to take a dark situation and find the positives. it’s honestly amazing the amount of creativity and self-expression people are finding during this time. it’s as though we are finally forced to take the time to do the little things that bring us out of this programmed, adulting state of mind. i actually don’t remember a time where I woke up organically, rather than to a dream-crushing alarm sound.

    this time has become about bettering yourself, learning new things, giving yourself the rest you need, reassessing your priorities, maybe realizing your career path isn’t for you, focusing on compassion for yourself and others facing tragedy, and for people taking it seriously, overall bringing down our societal ego back down to humanity. It has also put an emphasis on making connections and drawing similarities between people all over the world, tethering us together again as a community

    yesterday wasn’t a good day, but shifting perspective from what we are losing or fearing and focusing on how this could change us as people worldwide for the better hopefully gives you a profound sense of compassion and self💛

Another week down of making progress! 
Couldn’t be happier with how I am looking and what I’m doing right now, unfortunately my plans to compete at Jr USAs has been rescheduled
.
Outside factors are obviously out of my control but this is the most balanced I’ve ever been able to be! When we got the orders to stay home I was weeks away from stage, now months. I’m only seeing the positivities with this though like I said I’m more balanced than I’ve ever been! I am eating a decent amount day to day, not doing over 90 min of cardio a day and one free meal a week. All while staying within 4-5 pounds of stage weight, ideally staying within a couple weeks of being ready for a show! Never knowing when that is but I’ll wait for it 💫🤞🏻 #weeksout

This is yesterday's check in pic. Not sure how many days out I am but I'm still focused and determined to keep going towards my goals. Everything is so uncertain right now, our lives feel so stressful and schedules disrupted but remember,  this is all temporary. I'm lucky enough to be able have a small home gym to workout in, not as good as an actual gym but we make it work. Motivation is tough sometimes but my husband and I push eachother and keep each other positive!❤💪

Here’s what I did below...move quick for this to be effective and keep rest to a minimum.   • Yesterday’s shoulder circuit was 🔥 I’ve been incorporating more circuits and supersets into my training to make up for the lack of weight. All I needed for this workout was a resistance band and a “weight,” I used a gallon jug of water since we don’t have any dumbbells but you could easily do this with all dumbbells or something heavy around the house 
4-5 rounds, 20-25 reps ▶️ Plank shoulder taps (bodyweight)
▶️ Pike pushups (bodyweight)
▶️ Lateral raises
▶️ Front raises
▶️ Bent over flys ▶️ Kneeling press
▶️ Weighted halos

  • WEIGHTS OPTIONAL BACK WORKOUT - SAVE THIS ☝🏼 IMPORTANT: When you get to the body row round—if you don’t have access to a gym, find anything you can use to hold onto and pull up to an inverted row. Imagine a low monkey bar, tree branch, etc. with a wide overhand grip. Find something solid and bust through 10 of these rounds to burn out your lats and torch some body fat with those half burpees. Change it up by switch grips from over to under, close and wide. As for the “row anything” round, think of starting a lawnmower...can use dumbbells, wine bottles, etc. doing one arm at a time. I’ll put a video up of this one later today. Stay fit and safe. ❤️❤️❤️ Jump Rope 50 (or Jumping Jacks 50)
