After about a month of no #lifting or tracking #macros due to #wedding, #honeymoon, and life happening I finally started adding some lifts in this week!

Been easing back into it with full body #workouts every other day and man I've been feeling it. Still haven't been tracking macros but I'll get there. 
It can be frustrating going back to lifting after a break: I've lost strength, endurance, and cardio abilities. BUT the body is amazing and I'm hopeful that it'll get back into the groove soon. 🌍 www.thefittrain.com

It's hard to explain what having a #chronicillness is like. You look normal, do normal activities, seem normal. But you don't function like a "normal" person. 
Sometimes I'm more tired than others and some days I'm okay: but I'm always tired. In fact, I don't even remember what it feels like to be rested.

Things like travel and stress make it worse, so ever since returning to the states after our honeymoon... I've been declining ↘ and feeling like 💩. Haven't #lifted, haven't tracked #macros, haven't followed any sort of routine and it's killing me. But I know that the good days have to be right around the corner 🌈

  • #realtalk we all struggle when it comes to numbers. We've almost been taught that numbers are factual so we need to believe them. 
No matter how many posts I see about #nonscalevictories, I'm sure there are women still struggling with the number they see on the scale.

I've been that girl this week. Despite trying to cut, my number has done nothing but climb. And I have to remind myself how amazing the body is and how much the scale really doesn't account for. The scale doesn't know when you PR. It doesn't know if you're retaining water. It doesn't know your sleep schedule. All it really knows is a stupid number. So why do we let it get to us?! Your body knows what's up. It knows to hold water if you're putting on muscle or didn't hydrate enough or get enough sleep. It knows how to recomposition itself so that things shift around and eventually even out. Your body is full of knowledge and amazing. YOU are amazing.

  • There are about a million things that I could tear apart about this video: my form isn't perfect, there are things that I feel look unflattering, and don't even get me started on my facial expressions 😂 ...but that's not the point of this post.

I've been "working out" since high school, but just recently started #lifting. Yes, I had lifted weights before, but I always shyed away from the barbell, thinking that I wasn't strong enough and I was easily intimidated by it. I hardly ever trained chest, because "who can really tell if you have a toned chest?!" was always my thought. And I never thought of going for the "heavier" weights (whatever that may mean to you). I laugh at that girl now because I've become so much more #educated about how the body works and the importance of training all muscles, each for their own specific reasons. And now, chest day is one of my favorite days, mostly because it just makes me feel like a #badass in conquering the barbell. So, ladies (and men), don't be afraid to pick up some weights and give a barbell a try- you're capable of so much more than you probably think!

And yes, my motivation came back today, but I have no doubt that @BPSupps probably helped with that ;) use my code: NOREGULAGIRL to save some money.

#Lifting is such a mental game. We tell ourselves what our goals should be based on how others look; we're always comparing ourselves to others, and we all have a definition of strength.

For the longest time I was #self-conscious of telling people that I was a personal trainer, because in my mind I didn't "look" like I should be one. I'm not super built or lean and I'm still learning as I go.  Due to struggling with #chronicillness from a young age, I got used to labeling myself as "weak" and told myself that my body probably just wasn't capable of doing the things that "normal" bodies could.

The past few months I started lifting "heavy." Such a subjective term as everyone's "heavy" is different. I found this to be a real eye opening experience as I WAS able to use an actual barbell to do an actual chest press or squat.

But yesterday made me realize that I'm still not giving my body enough credit. I had asked my fiance to load my bar for rack pulls because it was on an uneven surface and I needed help so it wouldn't roll off the bench and crush me 😂. Last week, I had done rack pulls with just the bar because my lower back has always been super weak, so this weak I figured I'd add 5's or 10's. My fiance had other plans and added 25's: a total of 95 pounds, and said "just try." And... success-like butter, even.

So my point is: stop selling yourself short and giving yourself labels. And also, find someone who is going to support you and push you past your limits. Your body is capable of so many #amazing things, it'd be a shame to let your silly mind get in the way.
