So many women tell me that they are afraid to lift weights..they don’t want to get “bulky” but they want to…⠀
⠀
🍑Build a booty⠀
🍑Have abs that pop a little/lose their belly⠀
🍑Tone up their arms ⠀
🍑Love the way their clothes fit⠀
⠀
The best way to accomplish all of these things is to start adding resistance training into your workout routine. If you want to build muscle and start to see those muscles your buildin you have to lift. I can’t emphasize enough that you will not get bulky. A huge bonus…you get to eat MORE when you’re lifting…no starving yourself and no feeling hungry all the time. ⠀

Start simple and slow by only using your bodyweight…squats, pushups, pull-ups, lunges, setups, planks. Make sure you…⠀

✨Keep it simple. No crazy workouts or moves⠀
✨Go in with a plan⠀
✨Increase your weight over time⠀
✨Muscle/mind connection. Make sure you are really squeezing your muscle when lifting (this will take some practice)⠀

Start by going to the gym 3x a week and make sure you’re eating enough whole foods. Nutrition plays a big role as well. ⠀

  • Trying to talk yourself into reaching for just five or six M&Ms instead of the entire bag the next time you feel stressed and anxious? 
How about aiming to reach for one biscuit instead of a packet when you get home. Frustrated and exhausted? (And the stress of the holiday season is not helping matters.) And abdominal fat itself increases cortisol, which in turn makes you want to eat high-fat, high-sugar foods. It's a constant feedback loop

The first step is to recognize that emotional eating — stress eating and binge eating — springs from psychological underpinnings. It often starts at a young age, especially if children turn to food for comfort and then eat poorly.

Studies show it can take 90 days to form new habits that stick. 
To really stop emotional eating in its tracks it's time to start a 90 day program which will give you the tools to move away from diets for good.

If so, I know exactly how you feel! Unfortunately, I have been struggling a lot with starting my YouTube channel and creating content for the brands I am an ambassador for. For the last few years, I told myself not to start until I had the right equipment, but now that I have a fantastic camera and 4 whole months off university, I am still telling myself to wait. But wait for what? ⁠

There's absolutely no reason for me not to start. Maybe I'm worried I'm just not good enough at these things yet, but that's no excuse! As cliche as it is, practice makes perfect and I will not know how I will go until I try. ⁠
⁠
If you are in the same boat, just give whatever it is that you want to do a fair go. Don't regret never trying!⁠ ⁠

  • STOP making excuses!! START doing something about your problems or the things you don’t like about your life or yourself. ✨

All it takes is ONE second to change your life.  That second that you decide you’re done feeling unhealthy, surrounding yourself with toxic people, working in the same unfulfilling job or whatever it is that doesn’t serve you.  That’s the second that you can ultimately change your life. ✨

When I hop on the spin bike when I’m not feeling it (which is much of the time), opt out of the sugar and gluten when offered a delicious treat, or drink more water even though I’m too lazy to get off the couch, it’s all in the name of goals.  I am omitting the temporary satisfaction for the long-term goals.  And if you question whether or not it’s worth it, ask what you’ll get in return! Is a sense of accomplishment, a healthier you, a calmer mind and a more confident person worth it!  I’d say yes!  How about you? ✨
