  • The cheat lateral raise:
I’m a big fan of “cheat” exercises for these small muscles, like cheat curls for the biceps. It’s another way to eccentrically overload the muscle. Essentially you can use momentum and the upper traps and some front delt to get the weight up, but really focus on controlling that weight on the way down. You’ll see me take a slight pause at the top and then really think about that letting my wrist lead the way and my elbow follow.
I once heard it argued that the closest thing to a “must do” exercise was in fact a lateral raise. The side delts are paramount in creating that capped appearance on your shoulders and creating the super attractive V-taper. I believe in exercise variation block to block, and this is a phenomenal lateral raise variation.

  • For me there always comes a time during prep righttttt when said “bulk” season is ending and cut is coming where you have that OHSHIT mentality that you gotta straighten yourself up because x amount of weeks out feels like tomorrow. For me that is starting now. I had a wake up call last week. I can’t explain why or how but my OHSHIT mentality kicked in. This week I’m cleaning up my diet. It wasn’t BAD but I’m changing up meals, trying to eat more cleaner foods, rid of any artificial crap and then slowlyyyyy wean out supplements. Last prep I waited until about 3-4 weeks out to do this and I saw a BIG change that was almost instant. I’m gonna start slowly this time so my body doesn’t go into total crazy shock. Also, life is much different now. My days are more open yes but with working all different hours, my time and meals and lifts are all over the place. Sleep too 🥴. The one thing I CAN control are my meals and the food I put into my body.   • Heavy bench day 💀💀💀 hit so many fucking sets today, never thought I’d have 10 working sets but here we are 😏 5 x 3 paused at 2 plates, first set handout was horrific so that one was the slowest, overall great day, really getting the lats involved and driving through the middle of the lift, still pretty shaky but definitely felt like I opened up at the bottom more instead of over tucking like I usually do 💪🏻 them hit 5 x 3 at 185 with 1 minute rest to work on some speed, I am all bottom end power but once I’m fatigued I am so much less explosive so wanted to work on being powerful even while dead, was honestly super easy (only 185 so I guess it should be 🙃) but it def killed elbows and shoulders 😞 accessory was great, real nice pump, shrugs today I actually was able to keep my right shoulder blade down and shrug both sides equally 🤭 elbows hurt but I got just the medicine 😏😏😏 might fuck around and get dominos too, eat big get big 🐮🐮🐮 #powerlifting #bodybuilding #naturalbodybuilding #bench #benchpress #fit #fitfam #gymrat #meathead #iifym #aesthetic #aesthetics #tattoo #tattoos #tattoosleeve #guyswithtattoos #manbun #topknot #ink #inked #inkedguys
