  • The Prey ‘Impala’ Derived from the Zulu language meaning a Gazelle. These are one of the famous and graceful antelopes from Africa.
They are swift and agile covering speeds of over 60 kmph and clearing heights of over 10-12 feet.
They are an interesting bunch and are often brushed off as Prey for the so called more important and preferred animals. They have a few tricks up their sleeve to try and avoid falling prey.
It is told that half of the new borns are killed within a few weeks by the predators. So to avoid being preyed on right after birth when they are most vulnerable, they have figured that the safest time to give birth is mid day.
Since they need to drink everyday most predators wait for them near watering holes. To beat them the impalas yet again use the harsh mid day conditions when the predators are at their most sluggish state.
