In fairness, I used to have a standing workstation, but I think I prefer the variety that a floor set up provides 🧘‍♂️

I can sit in lots of different ways, and it means I'm "moving" more throughout the day too because it's impossible to sit still in one position without the circulation in my legs being cut off (kind of like my own internal timer, I guess!) ⏱

FYI: my laptop's perched on a foot stool that's got wheels, so it's really easy to move around. We bought it for my OH when he had a hip replacement a few years ago, but I fight him for him when I need to do "work" and it's great for TV dinners too 📺

(Yep, I sit on the floor to eat. Shock horror!) 😱

  • I’m so exhausted nowadays that I needed to move a little to regain connection with myself. 
I love contemporary and even though I’m not really good at it, dancing contemporary style still gives me a lot of joy. 
I was kind of beating myself for years that I will never be good at it, because dance is like language- you need to have certain vocabulary to communicate correctly. With styles like contemporary I always know what I want to say, but I’m afraid that my accent is too thick and my vocabulary too poor to express myself in that language. But I also remember that I used to felt like this about English and even though my accent is still thick, I can communicate well, write poems, stories and lyrics and the more I do it, the less awkward and more natural it feels to me.

  • Many of you know that it was my excruciating osteoarthritis in my hips that led me to Plexus.  I would give my pain a 9/10, and had been told years earlier by an orthopedic surgeon I would eventually need total hip replacement. It was that bad. The doc showed me the x-ray of my hips indicating extreme ridges in the ball and socket where it should be smooth. 
My friend, JoBeth, saw me limping and suggested I try Plexus. I remember saying, “No-no. I don’t take stuff. I gave birth without meds, I can get through this.” 🙄

She said, “At least research the ingredients.” I figured that wouldn’t hurt anything so I did... for HOURS!! 🤓👩‍💻 (where are my science nerds? 🙋‍♀️🙋👩‍🔬) All the ingredients were legit. 💥👊Powerful and natural like nothing I’d  seen before. ✅. So I took a deep breath (still 75% skeptic 🤷‍♀️) and tried the loading dose of the EASE and NERVE.  2 of each at breakfast. 2 at lunch. 2 at dinner.

First 3 doses ...nothing. 🙇‍♀️ zero relief. Scam. 
4th dose the next day....nothing. What the heck. 😫 About to quit. 
5th dose... it was like a vice grip released my movement and the pain was down to a 3!!! I could bend over. I could jump up and down. I could walk without limping!!!! Still had the same osteoarthritis...plexus can’t fix that. But it did take down my inflammation dramatically!!! 💥💥💥 Now almost 3 years later,  I’m still surgery free 😭😭😭 with pain averaging in the 3-5 range (which I’m ecstatic about!)💃💃💃, and some days the pain is ZERO!! What the what?!!!! Shut the front door!!!! 🏠🤣😂 DM me for deets. 🙋‍♀️💃✅

A lot of the time, both of these scenarios comes down to PRE-REQUISITES. Owning the range of motion required to perform a certain movement.

If you want to deadlift for example, but can’t perform that same movement unloaded, you probably lack the pre-requisites required.

  • The love we had has eroded.
The mountains face now scared.
Jaggered and sharp i see the path is just to hard.
She runs into the mountain face untill bloodied and broken.
I snicker in the back ground on the path we should have choosen.

The mountain shows us love every time we have to climb. 
We have to work together if we are to reach the top alive.
Loves just a verb, the doing word
The team work we put in.
Because the climbs is full of challenge only together we both win.
The top will hold the treasure of reflection on the hike.

  • The love we had has eroded.
    The mountains face now scared.
    Jaggered and sharp i see the path is just to hard.
    She runs into the mountain face untill bloodied and broken.
    I snicker in the back ground on the path we should have choosen.

    The mountain shows us love every time we have to climb.
    We have to work together if we are to reach the top alive.
    Loves just a verb, the doing word
    The team work we put in.
    Because the climbs is full of challenge only together we both win.
    The top will hold the treasure of reflection on the hike.

  • I'm out here on the water watching ripples in the swell.
These sharp patterns on the waters top, what is she trying to tell.
I wonder what she would say, would she gloat and be all bold.
Would she mock and laugh about how she could take me and the boat whole.
Is she upset because we treat her like she a place to dump our shit.
Or how we take from her and never give and expect her not to quit?
Is she greatful when i visit her to discuss my life and what goes on?
Or for when i float across her and im singing her a song. 
She rocks me to sleep like a mother cradling her young. 
So the ocean i will gaurd, all who talk ill shall watch their tounge.
Or see the pirate that's with in me drunken mad and out for blood.

People don’t flake out on exercise because they don’t think its good for them.

A lack of MOVEMENT is the real problem. Not a lack of exercise. .

For many, “exercise” sounds like something only fit people do. 
But MOVING is something everyone does. 👍 .

Here are some ways to add MOVEMENT into each day: ⚫️Do a mini workout or walk while your children are at sports practices or other activities. ⚫️Find several exercise programs you can do at home (online or DVD). ➡️GenerationFit carries fitness gear for these programs.   • Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward.   • It is not sexy but it works. Consistency is key. We all want to get better however putting in the work is not always fun. We need to make making ourselves better a priority.

This applies to everything in life. Physiotherapy is no different. We need to be consistent in our attendance to therapy and also consistent in doing our home exercise programs (HEP) in order to get the results we truly desire.

But that’s not 100% accurate (nor helpful) way of looking at things .

It is instead more effective to ask yourself what your intent is behind the movement you are doing? .

.
During sessions with clients I try and stress this as much as possible “this is what I want you to feel when doing this shape.. “ .. instead of “this is what I want it to look like”

Because as with everything when it comes to the human body (and mind) .. we’re all different .
.
.
Next time you move your body, try asking yourself what the intent is behind your movement.. what are you trying to get out of the movement/exercise/set that you’re trying to complete?

Feel better in your body for the long term through improving your flexibility and your strength to support your joints for all you ask of your body. 'Prehab', 'injury proof', 'bulletproof' these are some of the words used to describe this style of exercise. Not just stretching, and not just strengthening, we do both at the same time. 
A full range of joint motion with the strength to control that range is THE foundation of healthy movement, sport, and a body that just feels good. In this series I will share with you tools that you can use to restore full range of motion to your joints and to strengthen the supporting muscles, tendons, and ligaments so that your movement has integrity and support. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but it can begin now. 
If you are a physically active person, we all know injuries are a risk.  But what if you put the work in to fully prepare your body for what you are asking it to do?  What If your joints had more range of motion AND the strength to fully control that range of motion?  You would perform better and your risk of injury would shrink. You could do what you love but better, longer, and more efficiently. These are the benefits of Mobility Training.

In this 6 week series we will focus on different parts of the body each week, giving you the tools to improve your Mobility across your whole body.  Many of the techniques shared are based on Functional Range Conditioning principles.

  • Life on the road takes me to some pretty incredible places. I spend much of my time in paradise as many would say. I enjoy the numinous nature of my life, the luxury and simplicity of living without real boundaries, or restrictions. I own very little in material wealth, and I’ve seen so much. I don’t have a car, or a home, or much more than would fit into a large closet but I do have a treasure of memories. Life is good. I am grateful. I have everything I could want and more. I have made connections vastly, and the world has become small. .
.
On the other hand I will say. Life can be lonely on the road, the people who know you most are always quite far away. And when they are close ....time is fleeting. My friends are adventurers, creators, movers, shakers, loners with a powerful nature to connect when they’d like. But we all move in our own directions, and we tell our stories time, and time again. It can be exhausting, tiring and lonely to constantly have to explain who you are to new faces. To tell your story again, and again. To be a stranger among a welcoming crowd. At times you are more of a guest star in your life, than the protagonist with a definitive plot. Between the photos of paradise and play,  is a lot of time spent alone in contemplation. Mental growth, and fortitude is necessary for the adventurer. You have to become your own best friend, your own family, your own truth. And if there is darkness within needing to be looked at, you will not be able to hide from the work. Your adventure will become one of tremendous self actualization. .

I say this not to complain because life is grand, and I am full of love, light and inspiration. But I will always testify to all the angles. What you see if photos, isn’t always the whole story. .

I'll start off by saying THANK YOU for all the love, prayers, and support you all have sent our way these past couple months.⁣
⁣
At 22 years old, my mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It didn't always give her trouble. It wasn't always something she struggled with.⁣
⁣
Once her symptoms started to present themselves - balance, abdominal strength, and sitting up straight were a struggle. The doctors boiled it down the lack of muscle strength in her core due to MS. ⁣
⁣
Until last November...when we found out that not only was my mom's spine curved (scoliosis) but it was rotated inward 30 plus degrees. She was living in CONSTANT pain, and everything that was ALREADY hard for her, quickly became 10x harder and more painful.⁣
⁣
COMPLETE SPINAL RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY. ⁣
⁣
It was either that, or live the rest of her life in pain. A surgery like this is dangerous as is, and taking it on with an autoimmune disease is S C A R Y. ⁣
⁣
Her case had to be presented to a panel of spinal experts to make sure it was something that truly could help her.⁣
⁣
January 16, 2020. 7 hours of surgery and a whole lot of nerves later the doctor came out and told my dad and I that the surgery went beautifully. ⁣
⁣
AMAZING. This is something that would truly change our lives. We planned to be with her in the ICU for a couple days, then transfer her to the main hospital.⁣
⁣
But a week later, she still couldn't do anything without her blood pressure dropping dangerously low. ⁣
⁣
Then on a Friday morning, my dad called me and told me that the doctors found a blood clot in her lung. Blood thinners did the trick, pain killers helped her pain, but she was still in the ICU 2 weeks later. ⁣
⁣
That following Monday, another call from Dad - "Mom is bleeding internally in her stomach, and I think you should come to the hospital now." ⁣
⁣
It was a catch 22 — blood thinners to stop the blood clot, but internal bleeding in the stomach. We were at a cross roads, and scared as hell. ⁣
⁣
BUT THIS WOMEN JUST DOESN'T GIVE UP.⁣

She wanted to get out of that damn hospital, and that's exactly what she did.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Yaklaşık bir saat kadar kendi en iyimi vererek, odaklanarak okudum. Aydınlanma yolumda algımın daha açıldığını hissederek, farkındalıkla okudum. Akışın içerisinde kayboldum.

Bhagavad Gita, Yoga’nın bahsedildiği ilk yazıttır. Dini kitaplar arasında da önemli bir yere sahiptir. Yoga yolunda kendini bulmaya çalışan her kişinin bu kitabı okuması tavsiye edilir. Sevgili Damla hoca çevirisini yapmış ve çok sade bir dille dilimize çevirmiştir.  Kendinizi hazır hissettiğinizde mutlaka okuyun.

  • In the cookie of life, friends are the chocolate chips. And you @paucardenasv  are one of the best chocolate chips a girl could ask for. So grateful for the fierce, independent, vibrant, inspiring women in my life that push me to be a better version of myself. Something I read this past week. That captures exactly how I feel when I spend time outdoors. While it's increasingly hard to truly be 100% where you are, with all our distractions in our day (hello, you're reading this on Social Media...), by simply bringing awareness to the fact of where we're standing, can allow us to capture those beautiful little moments. It could be capturing the sunset with your two eyes rather then taking a photo for others to see, it could be seeing someone needs a helping hand rather then another like on instagram, or it could be giving yourself a few more minutes to you today rather than another view on a video. ▪️

Invite more awareness in, and see how rich life can be. ▪️
▪️
Taking a break on the Weekly Movements this week as I'm preparing to shoot the first of the Movement Modules on Sunday so I'm respecting the fact that all my attention needs to be there. Can't wait to show it to you all in the near future, it's going to disrupt some shit!!! 📣📣

  • 👋🏼Current shape on the right😃
Not the leanest I've ever been, not the most muscular I've ever been but about the most balanced. That in itself is an accomplishment. 
I came into about the leanest to date I've ever been around 6-7 months ago and see pictures like the one on the left and the vain part of my brain says "awe, I wish that I still looked like that." To be completely transparent that was a time in my life I've never faced so many emotional challenges and I was working on healing my severely degenerated cervical spine and inflamed and imbalanced muscles around it. Was that lean build on purpose? No. 
Be realistic with goals and don't let your brain play tricks on you. If you've had an Athletic build most of your life 🙋🏻‍♀️ 5'9 135lbs with 15% BF is NOT a comfortable long term physic for ME. I was a walking ball of nerves, my anxiety was through the ROOF. My emotions were an absolute wreck. I just plain didn't feel good. 
So here I am, 155/159lbs smiling and it's genuine happiness. Eating healthy MOST of the time but definitely never passing up an opportunity to make memories with delicious foods. 
BF% is 21% ish (I'm assuming because I don't care) 
Stress level is HEALTHY. 
I train to FEEL great.
No weight goal. 
No BF% goal other than to keep it in a healthy range. 
My goals are to FEEL MY BEST. Take deep breaths, do my best but not beat myself up for falling short some days because I am a human. 
Stay active. 
Stretch A LOT. 
Keep learning and growing and sharing what I've learned along the way. .
