Somewhere along the lines, many of us have forgotten the power of play. We relate play to building blocks, imagination with figurines, and a “child’s activity.” However, “play” comes in many forms

Our world has become so technology driven, that it is changing our physical, emotional, social and cognitive well-being. Now, technology surely has a place and time and I’m forever thankful for it. But, it is also taking the place of our bodies natural desire to move.

Our body and mind act as a unit and learn more through movement. Our sensory system was designed to increase neural transmissions following minutes of movement. Yet, we are at a place in our world where we no longer see movement as a priority

For children with special needs, it can be hard to break away from the technology, as it is often a huge place of inspiration and passion and comfort for some individuals. But pairing gaming, coding, graphic designing, etc., with a 10 movement break, can really change behaviors, social emotional well being, memory, attention and overall learning 🏃🏼‍♀️

  • Eu sou feliz aqui! Dentro de um Estúdio de Pilates, seja no meu ou em qualquer outro. Aqui me realizo, aqui consigo passar adiante todo o conhecimento que adquiri e continuo adquirindo. Aqui dentro vejo o resultado de tanto esforço, viagens, cursos, certificação, treinos, aulas privadas, estudos diários do método. Quanta emoção em poder passar adiante um pouco do que sei e carrego na bagagem. Lembro de quando orava pelo o que tenho hoje! 🙏❤️

  • Been working on developing a more positive relationship with my body (and general self) opposed to just tolerating it as something I've been dealt. 🐘

Even with my yogic/spiritual practice, it's a journey I'm always spiraling back around to consciously and subconsciously. 🐘

Last week was full of movement - gym time, dancing by myself, working as a massage therapist, spending time with the hubby for Valentine's Day 😉 - which allowed some stuck energy about myself to flow through. 🐘

2020 has been pretty emotional for me already; full of challenges and questions around self-identity. A literal restructuring of how I perceive who the hell I am and where I fit in. It's an interesting ride I'm on.

I am 24y, living on my own for 4 years. Parkour is in my life now for 3,5y 😊
Most of the time I train alone and I don't like to talk so much when I'm training 😅
I don't like the idea of teaching Parkour because most of the teachers I've met don't wanna see their students as independent and creative movers. People are more concerned about being bossy.
I don't like to pressure myself to train, if I don't wanna do it it's not gonna be good for me. But I train almost everyday cause it's hard not to do it 🙆🏻‍♀️
I don't trust myself as I should, not only in pk. But I also don't trust anyone 🤓
I love to play games and if I had to choose between games or parkour I would definitely play games for the rest of my life 🤷🏻‍♀️🎮
I don't eat meat. ❤️

It can really help in relieving back pain.

For day 1️⃣ of #balanceyouryinyang I chose #baddhakonasana A which is a wonderful combination of forward fold and hip opening✌️

🌻Tips🌻
Bring your heals as close as you can to the pelvis.
Catch your big toes and create a bind by pulling the toes, elongating the spine and reaching with the chest forward.
Take the movement forward from your pelvis.
With each inhale lengthen and with each exhale lower down.
Think with the chest towards your feet (and not with your head) and let your elbows and forearms press the thighs and shins towards the floor.
Aim with your chin down to the ground.
