  • When the new hangout spot in our house becomes Alia's room! But seriously, spending quality time with family (blood and chosen) has been detrimental to my healing. Yes, I said healing. Becoming a parent, the anticipating and partaking has been a whirlwind and I'd be lying if I didn't say that postpartum depression didn't hit me at all. Also, you just feel like everything changes... including all your relationships and how to navigate them around your new life. Sometimes building and sustaining those relationships take on big hurdles, but I've learned that my support system is strong! They have shown me little by little that even though things are different our bond hasn't changed. We've just added a little bit more love...Alia Love! 😘

  • He makes my heart so very happy. •
It crazy how something so simple like saying his name at the doctors office or writing it on a form can give me such delight. I will forever cherish those small things that mean he is ours forever.

  • I wasn’t sure how homeschooling two kiddos with two others running around would go, but we are finished with week 2 and I’m still smiling. My hair hasn’t been washed since Sunday, and I may have drank an extra cup of coffee or two, but it’s been a good start to the year.🤓 Cheers mamas, it’s Friday🎉 #raisingthefuture

  • First thing and this might sound weird but choose the newest milk first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you pump at work I would recommend using the milk you pumped today for tomorrow and just leaving it in the refrigerator, then any surplus put that in the freezer to save for later. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you do need to dip into your freezer stash or when you aren’t a frequent pumper you may wonder what the best way to thaw your milk is.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you can, take the milk out the night before and put it in the refrigerator to thaw. The next day you can warm it up using the method below or leave it cold. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you need the milk quickly, you can microwave water and then place the frozen bag or bottle in it but never microwave breastmilk. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once thawed, milk is good for 24 hours. If the bottle is put to the baby’s mouth it’s only good for two hours. To avoid wasting breastmilk try small, frequent bottles.

  • I can’t believe this. I could have cried last night.
Guys it’s been 6 months since I ran over one mile, I was gassed at the very end of this. That last half mile was roughhhhhh.
.
I did it though. I was able to push through the pain and tiredness and I ran a 5k in a little over 31 minutes. I can’t believe it and I’m beyond stoked. .
I’m running a 15K in March so I have a longgggggg way to go, but it’s a step in the right direction. 😁💫❤️

  • Brb, it’s the weekend and it’s a loaded one! Getting surgery to remove a large cyst named Gunther. I am soaking in all the fun this morning with my babies because I’m going to miss the small things we do even if it’s just for a week or two.
.
.
Will be back to work in a few! Fingers crossed for the most boring surgery ever. 😘

  • This isn't a glamorous shot. Or a picture I would normally post for obvious reasons.
But it's motherhood.
It's real. It's raw.
All the pretty pictures we post aren't always the whole story.
It's 2 am & cleaning up puke. It's getting thrown up on. It's doing laundry in the middle of the night even though you're exhausted. It's rubbing your toddler's back or rocking them to sleep even though your back aches. It's getting up at 6am after being up all night to get your kid ready for school. It's not getting to finish your coffee. or microwaving it 7 times only to forget about it again.
It's being their comfort. Their home. Their safe place. Even if you're on the toilet.
It's smelling like throw up yourself but giving your baby a bath so they feel better instead.
It's feeling so bad for them because you just want them to feel normal again. But also feeling like you need a freaking break after being puked on over & over again.
It's hard.
It's putting their needs first. Always.
So here's to keepin it real ✌
Happy friday!

This week has been a huge test of patience and strength - which is really just a glorified way of saying it was the week from hell - i got sick, my husband got sick, our nanny got sick, and life just happened in the most chaotic of ways. There were moments when I felt like superwoman and moments when I felt like I was on the first flight to crazy town. And that’s the funny thing about #motherhood...it can push you to both extremes and back again. And again. And again. But you just keep going. And you realize (while you’re bathing your kid after they got into some 💩 and feel like you might also need to throw up...) that you’re strong af...but also at the same time human af (whether you’re counting down the hours until bedtime, picking a fight with your partner for looking at you wrong, or feeling like you might lose it if your kid tugs on your leg and says “up” one more time...). I’m still working on the patience part of the equation, I guess 🤣 🤷‍♀️ Here’s to laughing when nothing goes as planned. Here’s to another Friday night out turned into a Friday night in. Here’s to falling behind on...everything. Here’s to getting impatient, frustrated, and snippy with your partner. Here’s to all the little f*ing wonderful tests life throws our way 🤣. Here’s to all you parents out there who just need a minute, already 🤣#idoyogatobelessofanasshole #parentriot #sweatpink #flexandflow #flexandflowyoga •

  • This is my first EVER garage sale! ✨

I always been hesitant on selling my baby stuff because I’ve always thought I was going to have more kids. I always wanted 3 kids....always. But after having my daughter, I’m good for a while. 🤪 Especially now that she is out of diapers!!! (I know you feel me, mamas!!!) But then I needed be honest with myself. IF (and it’s a big if) I would ever have another baby, I would get all new/different things. 🤷🏼‍♀️ So it is time to GET RID OF IT ALL!! It’s something that I had to completely be honest about because if I wasn’t I would HOARD all of my kids clothes and shoes and baby things. I love my mom dearly and miss her every single day but I blame here for passing down her hoarding gene.

It’s always been a goal of mine every year to get rid of stuff. So here I am, the middle of September, finally doing something about it!

Have any you mamas who are done having kids have a hard time parting with baby things?

  • If you are silent about your beliefs because you are worried someone will be offended, then your beliefs are not that important to you but rather what people think about you is. What people see about you will speak more loudly than how people feel about you, because in the end, when we stand up for what is right and true, we will have many who hate us or love us but all will know what we are fighting for. - T.B. • Motherhood. It’s a funny thing... one day you’re walking around with them in your belly with freshly mopped floors and the next day you’re walking around with one boob hanging out, in yesterday’s pajamas, wondering how your house got to be such a wreck. 💙 So many of you have asked how I’m doing, and I appreciate that more than you know. This was the hardest delivery on my body, and transitioning to 4 kids (full time) has been a little challenging until we find our new normal. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns where everyone is crying at once(including me), and I physically feel like I cannot keep up. And then there’s my rockstar Husband who has stepped up to the plate, wakes up to get the kids ready for school, makes their lunch, drops them off and picks them up. I don’t know what they’re wearing or what they’re eating😆... but I’m so thankful for him. 😭Motherhood is so beautiful and hard, overwhelming but rewarding, yet I wouldn’t trade these days for anything. #motherhood #motherhoodunplugged #newborn #normalizebreastfeeding

  • Seven today 🎂 Every year I’m reminded how much of a miracle this little lady is. Against all odds, seven months on bedrest surgery at the beginning and the end of the pregnancy and an awful lot of failed attempts and intervention before she stuck. She’s the most perfect, infuriating, beautiful, frustrating, rewarding little girl and I can’t believe I’ve managed to keep her alive for seven years (with a lot of help from google!) 😂
Happy birthday Bubs 🎈

  • For sure wasn’t cici, she was up like 4 times. -
My baby is 8 months old and doesn’t sleep though the night. Actually none of my kids have slept through the night sooner than 8 months. Everett was well over a year, and let’s be honest, he still doesn’t really sleep through the night because he comes in to our bed every night. Julian was around 8 months when he started sleeping in the night and I remember thinking “oh man, what a good sleeper” 😝. And Cici, who knows, we are no end in sight haha. -
I am telling you this because I’ve been there. I have tried the sleep training and the cry it out and the co-sleeping and the climbing in the crib at 3 am because you’re so freaking exhausted. I have wondered what am I doing wrong, and I have wondered what is wrong with my children (still wondering this because they’re weird, y’all). I have three different kids and they are three different sleepers. -
I believe you can sleep train and lay a healthy foundation, but I also think each kid is individual and you know your babies best. Don’t feel like you’re wrong if what you’re doing is working, even if it means you’re up every night. But also know that if your mental health is suffering as a result of lack of sleep, girl, it is time to dig deep and get that baby sleeping better so YOU can be better, however that looks for you. -
I never saw myself co-sleeping with a freaking 4 year old who lays on top of me, or climbing my ass in to my 2-year olds crib when he needs to know where I am, or bringing my baby back and forth in and out of my room just depending on how well she settles down. But maybe if we weren’t so afraid that we were doing it wrong, we could be a lot more open about what we’re actually doing, and we would all feel less alone.
-
So yea. That’s all for today’s ted talk. Disclaimer to add that no cicis were harmed in the making of this photo. That’s kinda her regular disposition if I’m not holding her.
