  • A rare photo of my face on my feed - because this photo sums up totally how I felt this week. I adored spending as much time as possible outside in the fresh air, kicking off the day with a run or walk through the wildflower meadows of Puglia, then spending the day with some incredible people @cupinattyp 😉. Oh, and a daily Caffè in giacchia con latte di mandorla all helped with the well-being vibe. Looking forward to a bit of normality now back home in Lincolnshire, and a couple more Italian lessons to brush up 😬

I had a love/hate relationship with running from when I was a kid until my junior year of college. Although it was fun at times, it was very challenging and often made me feel insecure if I could not run a certain distance. I also use it as a means to burn off things I “should not have eaten.” One day, I realize how much exercise as necessary for me. I got to get rid of all my nervous energy, all my determination energy, and just to let go of everything in those moments. I begin to love running as I saw it as a spiritual time for me. Exercise is spiritual, it is the exchange of energy between your mind, body, breath, and spirit. When I am on runs in nature, I like to open my arms to feel happy, open, and connected 😃. It may sound cheesy but it’s true! We have proprioceptors and other sensorimotor receptors in our body that tell our brain how we’re feeling due to our position. These are the same receptors that will make you hunch your shoulders when you’re depressed. I like to open my arms which  opens your heart chakra, smile, and run in the wide open space. Welcome to the day, open your lungs and feel more connected to your soul.

  • I love exploring new cities with my two feet. I ran on a trail that was completely foreign to me, and I admittedly stopped many times to take pictures. But when nature is this beautiful, it’s hard NOT to stop and take it all in. #noregrets
