  • Thankful for my bestfrands always✨ No new friends or something like that??
-
If you happened to notice, I changed my insta handle just because I feel like I am and my page is more all encompassing than just fitness? I preach all encompassing health - mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, etc., and I don’t want my handle to come off as limiting. Yes, I absolutely love training/the gym and it’s my biggest passion but I also love going out, surrounding myself with good company and delish food and drinks with “fitness” being the least of my worries in the moment. It’s balance and moderation, ALWAYS. You need to make sure all your aspects of health are aligned and balanced, one shouldn’t be outweighing another. Be a balanced human bean🌱 Maybe that’s just me overthinking😅 But figured I’d throw out a little explanation, heh✨

  • 80/20 is my philosophy. You can’t be perfect all the time...and that’s OKAY! Find balance and moderation in the life you live, I do not feel one bit guilty for having fun on a Saturday, drinking beer & having pizza with my peeps. I know what makes me feel good, & sometimes, splurging on “not so good” foods does make me feel good 😍 I’m not going to shame/starve myself today, only eating celery and kale... 🤣 I am going to drink tons & tons of water and fuel myself with the nourishing foods that make me feel like my best self! Aaaand probably have wine because it’s Sunday & why not🤷🏼‍♀️

We had a nice relaxed father’s day brunch today!! 🤗😊 I do love a good hearty breakfast every now and then. 🙈
Everything in moderation has been the motto since I started my healthy journey!!👏🏼 My SHRED10 programme started yesterday and so far I can say that staying off sugar has not been as difficult as I thought it would be! Yay!🥳 Another positive👍🏽 - I have started looking for different sugar alternatives which I can use once SHRED10 is done.😉 What do you use as a sugar replacement? Happy to read any recommendations!

  • Episode 1 of the ‘Cut Through Nutrition’ podcast is now live! Find us on both the iTunes Podcast App and Spotify.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I accosted Alan (@thenutritional_advocate) a while back to make a podcast with me to try and improve the discourse around nutritional science. It’s incredibly hard to find reliable sources of information on the internet at the moment that aren’t chock full of bias and logical fallacy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now neither of us are arrogant enough to suggest that we are without bias, no one is, but our intention is to provide as much nuance and stay as far away from rhetoric as possible; it’s a goal that is often hard to come by.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If that sounds like something you are interested in (we will be touching on topics ranging from ‘food is medicine’ to whether the Ketogenic diet can actually cure diabetes), download the first episode and subscribe so you don’t miss any of the conversation. New episodes will be released weekly!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For behind the scenes footage and early episode releases join me on Patreon - link is in my bio.

  • What is Shisha smoking?
Shisha smoking, also called narghile, water pipe, hookah or hubble bubble smoking, originates from the Middle East and certain areas of Asia, but has recently become more popular in the UK especially with young people.

It is a way of smoking tobacco through a bowl with a hose or tube joined on. The tube has a mouthpiece that the smoker uses to breath in the smoke.

Everything is good in moderation !!! #moderation

  • Many people spend most of their lives trying to lose weight, trying to find the next best thing. They give it a max 2-3 weeks of effort and because they don’t see results dramatically- it’s into the next person, program, or diet.
.
.
Changing behaviors is hard, no doubt about it. Evolving better habits takes a lot of effort. Most people see the price and think they are ready and get 2 weeks into it and their mind simply says no. Most of the time it’s because people like the idea of their goals but aren’t ready to dedicate themselves to it and continue on doing the same thing.
.
.
Changing is hard, but what’s worse, trying to change or doing the same miserable habits over and over again? Both are hard. You just have to make the effort into determining which one is worth more of your time. I’ll give you a hint though, the latter sounds overly exhausting and mentally draining. So, You choose....
.
.
And if you don’t achieve your goal you haven’t failed at all. Remember, failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. It’s better than doing the same shit over and over again and expecting a different result.
.
.
So, stop trying to look for external motivation. Achieving your goals and success doesn’t come from getting more motivation.
.
.
It comes from working your ass off and realising everything takes TIME. It comes from doing things even when you DON’T want to do them or have the motivation to do them.
.
.
Remember most people give up because they THINK they aren’t seeing progress.
As a result they give up, quit go to the next diet or coach or trainer - yet they just stop fighting.
.
.
What are they missing ? Consistency and realism. You need to realise you won’t see dramatic results, daily or weekly. Be more realistic if you think you’re going to achieve results in 3 months... Double it, you know why? BECAUSE of life! Be realistic, don’t sell yourself short.
.
.
You only fail if you choose to quit.
Get up, fall down, try again and repeat. Just don’t give up. Embrace that you have to work your ass off or continue to struggle. Ultimately, it’s all your choice. 💜

  • As people around the world celebrate Father’s day, take a moment to appreciate that you still have yours with you and take a moment to pray for those fathers that have passed and those they’ve left behind.
-
-
-
I believe that every day is a father’s and mother’s day. Every day is an opportunity for us to love, appreciate, care for and serve our parents. Unfortunately, over the past year, I have seen and heard of so many uncles, fathers, husbands, and brothers who have suffered from a stroke, heart attack, developed high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. An unhealthy diet and lack of movement mixed with genetic factors seem to be the main causes. -
-
-
Today I want us to think about the men in our lives and their eating and health habits. Who has predisposed genetic factors that will affect their health? Who has bad food habits? Who needs to exercise more? Who needs an intervention? Think about how you can help them and advise them in a kind and loving manner. Think about how your health and eating habits are affecting theirs and how you can be their support instead of their enabler. Make a difference in their health today. After all, their lives and yours may depend on it.
-

The Prophet(sas) said, ’The children of Adam do not fill any pot worse than the stomach. Only a few morsels that give them strength is sufficient for them. But if one has to eat, he should put one-third [of his stomach] for his food, one-third of it for his drink, and the remaining one-third for breathing.’(Tirmidhi)

  • Weekly Forecast: June 9–15, 2019

6/10 ~ Sun (core essential Self) ~oppose~ Jupiter (expansion & learning)

This energy is a double-edged sword in that you may "feel" positive and optimistic—which is a good thing—but it is also prone to excess—which brings us to the philosophy of "anything in moderation" or "balance in all things." Be positive but be alert too! Beware of the urge to overdo it or over-extend yourself on any level.

Use this energy to tap into your courageous side and attempt something you have avoided out of fear or doubt. There is a push-pull going on between your ego and your enthusiastic child within which demands that you find a proper expression for this energy.

Also, beware of your enthusiasm provoking you to try to get others to see it from this point-of-view. You always have to be mindful of the fact that everyone is on their individual paths and may not be ready for what you're bringing...and that's okay—focus this energy back on your Self and it will serve you well. This energy tends to bring out the self-righteousness in us and that rarely leads where you are trying to go.

What this energy is trying to tell us is that certain aspects of your Self and your Spiritual development are coming to a head and decisions need to be made which will affect your future. Pay attention—and try to get the lesson & the blessing of whatever is happening this week because it is trying to guide you to a new level...ready or not!

Keep in mind that it is an opposition, which always reminds us to watch for extremes and practice coming back to center; the truth is you are 6-months into something that requires some integration. If you stabilize now, you can expand your life in positive ways and with more ease & grace.

  • One week post Bikini Competition. I will say I have had a few “Come to Jesus” moments this week, but I’ve also been on vacation in Myrtle Beach, eating out and more tempted than ever. I’ve done well at controlling my portions and saying no to things I would usually indulge in. My TWO pieces of advice to you from my experiences this past week:
1.) Don’t completely jump off the wagon because you messed up one meal, or didn’t meet your macros... keep going!! Your body is ever changing and will continue to transform over time.
2.) Don’t beat yourself up because you no longer are 2% (not really😂) body fat and cannot see striations and definition in every muscle anymore. As I am sure everyone has heard time and time again.... stage lean physiques are not sustainable OR healthy by any means, it takes deprivation at its finest and even a specific week we call PEAK WEEK to obtain this. .
