  • Damn those summer sunsets while sailing in the yacht are absolutely mind blowing. Yesterday it reminded me how we all should be thankful for all the the beauty that surrounds us. The view from the the yacht of the sun and the feeling of a gentle lake breeze touched my heart and my soal, I could not stop looking at the sky, I could not stop immersing myself in the the feeling of gratitude and deep relaxation 😍💯👌.

    Damn those summer sunsets while sailing in the yacht are absolutely mind blowing. Yesterday it reminded me how we all should be thankful for all the the beauty that surrounds us. To sit here when darkness comes. Observe the heron getting more active and then settle, have bats flying right beside my head, to see the kingfisher flying right beside me (have you ever seen it?! It's the most beautiful bird ever!), to hear the owl awakening deep in the forest, to hear foxes "barking" and to feel my fear of being alone and the fear of darkness becoming stronger but choosing to breath through it and see the beauty anyways. Trying to love myself and the fear. 💓
I haven't made it till it's completely dark yet but every time is becoming more and more magic and in time I'll make it... heck at some point I might even sleep out in the forest all by myself! 😅😂😉 #natur #nature #udendørs #outdoors #mindfullness #haldsø #dollerup #beautifulview #smukudsigt #beauty #overcomefear #slipfrygten #magic #magi #meditation

  • When Notre Dame's roof caught on fire people were devastated, the news covered every inch of the situation, many influential people jumped to the buildings aid. Notre Dame has no real impact on the future of this planet or affect on our physical well-being. The Amazon does. Vast parts of the Amazon are on fire and this should be recorded as one of the most threatening disasters in history and the biggest news story to date. 
The rainforest is the single most important thing that is maintaining the planets temperature levels, without it the planet as we know it would die. It would be inhabitable.
The power to save it rests with all of us. One of the biggest causes of these fires comes from highly increased levels of cattle farmers de-logging and devastating the land. 
In taking beef and dairy out of our diet we can reduce supply and demand. Buying 2nd hand leather items is a good way of reducing the conveyor belt of consumer leather. 
Be part of a direct impact by gifting a little money to @amazonfrontlines who are out there battling the rights of Amazonian tribespeople and the rainforest.

  • ✨Soooo I moved my daughter to college this past weekend. (Swipe over to see us together.) I’ve been a mom for my entire adult life, having become pregnant at about the same age she is now . . . which blows my mind! So I just turned 41 years old and am now an empty-nester, as they say.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about attachments. In Buddhism, we’re taught that attachments are at the root of all suffering. I also know for sure that a strong attachment was vital to my success as a parent. The Buddha himself snuck out in the middle of the night and abandoned his wife & son to pursue his own spiritual enlightenment. I can’t stop thinking about that . . .

. . . about how he left his wife to do the “attachment work” of raising a child while he freed himself from earthly bonds. There is so much to unpack there. I do know that I’ve been on the Buddhist path for 12 or so years and that it’s the right one for me. I also know that I would never sneak out at night and abandon my child. (Of course you could argue that the Buddha’s choice was one that benefited all of humanity, but I’m just saying: that particular method of letting go of attachments is not for me. And a child NEEDS secure attachments to thrive.)

I mean, listen, nothing is more ever-changing than the attachment of a child and a parent. While once I literally fed my child with my own body, now I’m texting memes. I changed her diapers and with any luck, someday she’ll change mine. It’s a constantly shifting landscape. But we’re both firmly attached.

Anyways, these are thoughts I’m swimming in this week. Did she pack vitamins? Who am I if not fully focused on motherhood? How was the first college black light party? WTF Buddha? Etc. 😅
