  • Michael Myers Brings Fear Back to Haddonfield in New photo! 💀
Only Michael Myers has the balls to show up on Friday the 13th, that being Jason’s special day. Well, that's when the folks at EW debuted a new photo from this year’s Halloween sequel. “What I loved is that it surgically excises all of that dead tissue,” Jamie Lee Curtis explained to the site. “This is growing from just that original movie, 40 years later. There may be people who love the other movies, great — [they have] zero relevance to this story.” Green’s Halloween doesn’t entirely ignore the other sequels. “This film isn’t one to narratively recognize any of the films other than the original Halloween,” says the director. “But we very much enjoy the other films and there’s a lot of very subtle shout-outs to a number of things that I think the big fans — the people that know the films scientifically — will get a kick out of, hopefully.” In the film, we discover that masked killer Michael Myers is about to be transferred from a psychiatric institution to a maximum-security prison. Can we assume there is a hiccup en route? “Well, s— hits the fan in one way or another,” teases Green.

The film also stars Nick Castle, who reprises his role as Michael Myers, stuntman and actor James Jude Courtney will also don the mask, Judy Greerplays Karen, the daughter of Laurie, Andi Matichak plays Allyson, the daughter of Greer and the granddaughter of Laurie Strode, Virginia “Ginny“ Gardner plays Vicky, Miles Robbins plays Dave, Dylan Arnold plays Cameron, and Drew Scheid plays Oscar.

John Carpenter executive produced the film with Malek Akkad for Trancas and horror specialist Jason Blum of Blumhouse. Gordon Green and Danny McBride also executive produced under their Rough House Pictures banner. Special FX specialist Christopher Nelson created the new Michael Myers mask.

Synopsis: “Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.” Halloween hits theaters on October 19th, 2018.

  • Dark Universe Review: ‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ ☠️ Recently our team member Gareth Paterson watched the Strangers sequel these are his thoughts - "One of the worst things a sequel can do is tread the same ground as its predecessor without offering anything new. The Devil’s Rejects avoided this by completely changing the genre. The sequel to 2008’s 'The Strangers' takes the Hellraiser II approach of giving fans what they liked about the first one while expanding on and wrapping up the characters nicely.

The movie follows a family who stay overnight in an empty trailer park. Soon they are hunted by three masked killers. It is made clear that they are just ordinary people who are committing these acts for the sake of it. This makes the violence seem shockingly needless.

This has all been seen before in the original. The film does take an interesting turn towards the end when it descends into revenge thriller territory.

There are references to classic 80’s movies throughout, especially the work of John Carpenter. The score owes a lot to The Fog, almost to the point of ripping it off. Despite these references giving the movie a great aesthetic it does get a bit too derivative without being original enough itself.

There are some interesting choices, especially in terms of sound design. Power ballads play throughout much of the carnage in a way that elevates some sequences above the generic majority of the running time.

Overall the movie is a poorly paced and tension free 80’s nostalgia fest that is inferior to the original. Up until the final 20 minutes it is relatively boring. If you like the first one but want a more cathartic conclusion then it is worth checking out. It also makes for a great drinking game if you take a sip every time one of the victims makes a stupid mistake." 👊🏿😂 To read more of our Horror movie overviews head to the reviews section over at www.du-hd.com (link in bio) 🖤🐺🖤

  • "Michael may return after this Halloween!" 😱 David Gordon Green and Danny McBride Hoping to Make ‘Halloween’ Sequel 🎃

We’re just four months away from director David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 horror masterpiece, and today we have news on another possible sequel to Green’s upcoming film.

In an interview with the folks over at EW, Halloween co-writer Danny McBride and director David Gordon Green talked about how they almost shoot two movies back-to-back. “We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back. Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again. So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren’t going to like. So, we were like, let’s learn from this, and see what works, and what doesn’t. But we definitely have an idea of where we would go [with] this branch of the story and hopefully, we get a chance to do it.” Before we get too excited at the idea of another sequel, let’s just wait for Blumhouse’s new Halloween movie to come out first. This October, Michael Myers finally returns home to haddonfield for one more night of hell.

  • "Mr Myers Carving up some excitement!" 😱 Universal Pictures Shares New Scary Michael Myers Photo from ‘Halloween’ 🎃

Universal Pictures just shared a brand new photo of Michael Myers from David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel via their official website that reveals “The Shape” with knife in hand.

We’ve already had a bunch of terrifying new photos ahead of the trailer release this Friday, June 8th, all of which you can see right now over at www.du-hd.com (link in bio) 👊🏿🐺 Not only that, we also have more deeper plot details: “A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.

In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).” Synopsis:

  • "The Shape of things to come!" 🎃 What can we expect to see in director David Gordon Green’s Halloween movie? Well, here’s a recap of what’s been confirmed thus far, along with some predictions that we may or may not see in the new film.

While we all wait in anticipation for the Halloween trailer to debut, check out some facts and theories that we have for you below.

Jamie is not Michael’s sister:

The revelation of Michael and Laurie’s family connection did not occur till Halloween II. The lore of this movie is being intentionally ignored by the writers. Michael’s motivations for stalking Laurie will likely remain mysterious and simple. He will merely be driven by his primal need to kill as well as his thirst for revenge.

The focus will be on Laurie’s granddaughter:

It is likely that Laurie’s character will be given a significant amount of attention. If she wasn’t then Jamie Lee Curtis would not have been so interested in returning. However the bulk of screen time will probably be dedicated to her granddaughter and her friends as they get picked off one by one. Most of the movie will focus on Michael stalking the young.

There have been several sequels and remakes that have explored Laurie’s psychology in depth. It is the doubtful that this will be the narrative focus of the 10th sequel. That well has surely been all dried up by now.

It will be set in Suburbia:

Laurie has faced off against Michael Myers in a hospital, a boarding school and mental asylum. The new Halloween will take things back to their roots. One of the most terrifying aspects of the original was the fact the characters were being hunted in a suburb where their screams were ignored by apathetic neighbours. The writers would probably want to continue this in the latest sequel.

It won’t be a gore movie:

One of the surprising things about re-watching the original is how bloodless the death scenes are. They are grisly but there is no emphasis on the puncture wounds, no excessive splatter. The scenes focus on the shock of Michael’s attack, underscored by Carpenter’s synth soundtrack.

  • "Halloween 2018 is in good shape if the Trailer is anything to go by!" ✌🏾🎃
‘Halloween’ Trailer and Footage Debuted at Cinemacon; Fans Recap Everything Shown 👻

From what the viewers at Cinemacon revealed about the footage shown this evening in Vegas, we have nothing to worry about at all. Halloween sounds scary a shit, and detailed descriptions of Michael’s actions are demented as hell.

A Halloween fan known as @PiyaSRoy described the plot: “it follows a true crime investigative team making a doc about the 40-year-old incident, and of course things go wrong and MICHAEL MYERS ESCAPES and heads straight for Laurie Strode.” The 2018 Laurie Strode has been described as going Sarah Connor style! Becoming a Bad-Ass character and she has evidently been waiting for Michael. 🎃"Laurie - I Prayed Every night Michael would escape.
Cop - Why Would you do that?
Laurie - So I could kill him" 🎃

All notions of Laurie and Michael being siblings are also completely dismissed within the trailers time frame proving that yes indeed in this universe 2018's is the first Halloween sequel.

See what some of the viewers had the say via Twitter by swiping. Or take a better look at them all over at our site www.du-hd.com 👊🏿🐺 Halloween will stalk theaters on October 19th, 2018.

Official Website Launched for Blumhouse’s New ‘Halloween’ Sequel

As reported a few hours ago, a look at the new Michael Myers mask has been revealed on the official teaser poster (above) for director David Gordon Green’s Halloween sequel. As soon as the shot was shared online, many fans of the franchise have been commenting nothing but positive things about it. I have to be honest, it took me a while to warm up to it. I think when we actually see the full reveal in action, that’s the moment when the mask will really shine.

If you would like to keep up to date with everything going on with the new Halloween film, Blumhouse and co have launched an official website today 🖤🐺🖤

  • Makeup Artist Christopher Nelson Talks Designing the Mask for Blumhouse’s ‘Halloween’ 🎃

There’s so much secrecy surrounding the new Michael Myers mask in Blumhouse’s Halloween. One pictured was leaked a few months ago from the set, but it was a shot from afar and could not be clearly seen. Makeup artist Christopher Nelson, creator of the mask, has been very protective of it since filming started/ended.

Recently, the folks over at HalloweenDailyNewscaught up with Nelson for an in depth interview. Continue reading to find out how he approached creating the new mask, and capturing that feeling you got when you saw Michael Myers. “The first order of business, of course, was the mask. I have a strong working knowledge of the original mask, and what the second one was about, and all the masks (of the sequels) and who did them and what they looked like. The point was to get back to the original, and to bring Michael Myers to life again, to bring that character, that feeling that you get – I really approached it more as a feeling than I did trying to copy the original mask.” “The film takes place 40 years later, so you’re not going to have that same mask, it’s not going to be this pristine, beautiful thing that it was in 1978. You have to approach it from that standpoint. I had 40-year-old masks that I studied and looked at how they broke down, how they wrinkled, how they did this and how they did that. I also took into account the context of the film. Where is the mask now and where has it been for these 40 years? Without revealing anything, I took that into context. I had hundreds of photos and books.” “I’m very happy with it. I think it’s going to be cool. I wanted to create the character of Michael Myers, not just the mask. You’re not creating just a mask. You’re creating a character. You’re creating a feeling that you get that does have an expression. The mask does have an expression, but also the mask looks completely different in every single angle it’s ever been photographed at, and I wanted that feeling too. I wanted the feeling that when you saw Michael Myers, it morphs, it changes, it looks different from every single angle, like the original one did.

  • New ‘Halloween’ Michael Myers Actor James Jude Courtney Talks Nick Castle Passing the Torch 🎃

We are all very excited to see the legendary Nick Castle don the iconic mask and overalls again in director David Gordon Green’s new Halloweenfilm this October, but he’s not the only one who will be playing the part.

In a recent interview with the folks over at HalloweenDailyNews, actor James Jude Courtney talks wearing the mask for the first time, Castle on passing the torch, and much, much more.

Courtney on Nick Castle on passing the torch:
“David was also really sensitive and generous when he said, ‘We’re inviting Nick Castle to come back to do a little work. Do you have a problem with that, because you’re the Michael Myers now?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God. Are you kidding? What an honor it would be, first of all to meet the guy, but secondly to work with him. How good does that get?’” “So we started work, and I can’t remember if it was the second or third week that Nick came in and did kind of a cameo. He did a couple of scenes, and I’m in the scenes with him, which is really beautiful. He and I were hoping that would happen, because he even said, ‘This is the passing of the torch.’” Courtney describes putting on the mask for the first time:
“So David, Danny, Jeff (Fradley), Mike (Simmonds), Rawn (Hutchinson), and myself, we all walked off to a room to the side where nobody could see it, and Chris pulled out the mask, and he said, ‘Okay Jim, let’s put it on and see what it feels like.’ So I walk over and he puts it on me and fastens it in for me, and I was like, ‘Whoa.’ David goes, ‘What does it feel like, Jim?’ I said, (lowers voice to a near-whisper) ‘It’s perfect for killing.’ It was perfect.” “And all the sudden, this thing happened to me inside. I had already created the energy, I already knew the space, but man that was like afterburns, dude – And the love, it’s more than just the beauty of the art that Christopher created when he did the mask, it’s all that knowledge he put into it, and somehow he imbued all the history, the 40 years of history and all the work that all the people have done, and all the fans’ expectations and love. I felt all of that.

Castle tweeted: “All will be revealed!” What does this message actually mean? Well, our best guess is that it will be the film’s first teaser trailer. You’ll only have to wait 71 days to find out. 😱

British actress Rhian Rees (Confession of a Child of the Century, Rehearsal, The Lears) recently joined the cast as Dana, Toby Huss(Ghostbusters, Martyrs, Bad Milo) has been cast as Ray, Turkish actor Haluk Bilginer (Forget About Nick, Trendy, The Ottoman Lieutenant) will play Sartain, Diva Tyler (Killing Winston Jones, Slice 3, The Last Exorcism Part II) is playing a caretaker.

Will Patton “Shots Fired” has been cast to play a police officer. Rob Niter will play a Warren County Sheriff’s Department officer. Ginny Gardner“Runaways”, Miles Robbins (My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (When We Rise), Drew Scheid(“Stranger Things”), have all joined the cast playing school friends of Matichak’s character, Andi Allyson.

Christopher Nelson heads the special fx, along with Emmy Award nominee Vincent Van Dyke, who worked with Halloween icon Jamie Lee Curtis on the TV show Scream Queens. The film’s FX makeup coordinator is Bright‘s Stephanie A. Ford.

Synopsis:
“Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”

  • Nick Castle “The Shape” Talks New ‘Halloween’ Film, Putting on the Mask Again, and More 🎃

At last month’s Mad Monster Party event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the legendary Nick Castle, who returns to play Michael Myers for a second time in the new Halloween film, packed his bags to take part in a very special Q&A for the fans.

Castle talked quiet a bit about his return to the Halloween franchise after 40 years, which was captured by the folks over at Halloween Daily News.

On returning to Halloween 40 years later: “To be back in this franchise that I never thought I’d actually do any more work, because I never really considered myself an actor, and if you’d ever seen me try to act without a mask on, you would agree, so to go back and relive some of this is quite fun. To see Jamie Lee Curtis again, in uniform, so to speak, was fun.

This new group of filmmakers that’s working on it, I think everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised – I mean not necessarily surprised, because they’re very talented to begin with. I think they honor the tradition of the original movie.

I have high hopes for it, and I think everyone who is a fan, of the original especially, should look forward to it.” On putting the mask on again: “It was pretty crazy. It was. Not so much when I did it in the makeup trailer, but when I put it on for a shot, the first shot that I was in, I went, ‘Oh my God, I’m doing this.’ (laughs) It was really pretty fun. You know, I’m 70 years old now. (laughs) I’m happily retired, so doing it was fun.

But I quickly realized how much the fans really enjoyed the idea of having me back to be part of this in some way or another. So that was really nice to hear. I really appreciated what I heard from social media and stuff like that, and then also noticing how the press picked up on that when it was announced. I thought that was kind of cool that people remember my work I did on that.

And I get a lot of love from everybody here (at Mad Monster Party), and I return it because I appreciate it.” To read the full Q and A with Nick Castle from this year’s Mad Monster Party click our link at www.du-hd.com 🖤🐺🖤
