  • Sorry I've been away for a while but I'm back now hopefully for good, so with no further adieu,.. One way is basically the Martian meets murder mystery, a group of convicts are given the chance to leave behind their prison cells, in exchange for a journey to Mars, where they will build the very first human settlement and pave the way for NASA's own team, and provide them with somewhere to live, eat and do research.

It's really well written and the characters are likeable and you grow to learn as much about them as a convict would reveal, so at the beginning things are kind of slow, as we follow them through basic training and they are all kind of stand offish still, but over time they open up a bit.

I think it's a shame that the author decided to advertise it as a murder mystery book because there could have been no mention of a murderer and the book would have still made sense and it would have made for one hell of an ending but oh well.

It only comes in at 300 odd pages but it's an excellent book and if you are a Sci fi or a whodunit fan then I strongly recommend it, as it left me guessing right until the very end.

  • Dragon capture:⁣
⁣
Dragon is a spacecraft capable of supplying the spatial station with cargo. A cosmonaut will grapple it with the station's robot arm. This is a glacially slow and deliberate process.⁣
⁣
One spacecraft is always a potentially fatal threat to another - a bigger threat the closer it gets.⁣
⁣
The cosmonaut takes the control of the robotic arm, using his left hand to control the arm's translation (in, out, up, down, left, right) and his right hand to control its rotation (pitch, roll, and yaw). ⁣
⁣
He reaches out with the robot arm, watching a monitor that offers a view from the camera on the "hand" or end effector, of the arm, as well as two other video monitors showing data describing Dragon's position and speed. He can also look out the big windows to see what he's doing. He moves the arm out away from the station - very slowly and deliberately. Closing the space between the two spacecraft inch by inch until capture it. ⁣
⁣
Then, the process of pressurizing the space between the Dragon and the station takes several hours. A mistake here could cause depressurization. So it is crucial to work through the steps one by one.⁣

  • Pluto retrograde? 💀
I've been exploring Vedic astrology, which was a well-established thing waaaay before Pluto was even discovered by astronomers in the 19th century. It provides a working map without counting the outer planets Pluto, Uranus or Neptune. It focuses on the two lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu, which, as far as I can tell at this point, are described as having effects resembling those attributed to Uranus and Pluto in mainstream Western astrology, but expressed in a different way. Ketu, to me, has the energy that pop Western astrology calls "Plutonian". Ancient astrological systems all over the world never included the outer planets Uranus Neptune and Pluto, but the accuracy of their systems didn't suffer from it. It's not as if astrology becomes more accurate the more planets we discover 😒 Astrological systems are self-contained matrixes of meaning, maps of the energetic landscape within and around us. It doesn't matter how many planets you include, as long as your map is somehow capturing the symmetry of cosmic music.
Pre-modern astrological systems considered the #sun, #moon, #mercury, #mars and #venus as the five key notes in the song of our solar system. Vedic completes the picture with the north and south nodes on the Moon's orbit, #rahu and #ketu.
It's important to realize that "pop" astrology is all over the place these days, and we really have to think twice before accepting any old astrology thing we read on the internet. You decide for yourself what's makes sense. Keep in mind that there are many, many interpretations of the same picture.
What got me started on this topic is that my ascendant, in the Vedic system, is in the Ketu-ruled nakshatra called Mula. I think this selfie especially captures the "Plutonian" vibe which expresses through my appearance. But it would be Ketu, not Pluto, having this effect. Do you see it? Do you see the Void gazing back at you? 😂
